They were out of the queso dip, didn't have any regular bbq sauce for the wings and our server was busy talking to the other servers. Went with my significant other and child. The hostess was great but after we were seated not a single person acknowledged us. Another family comes in a bigger family (number wise) and they were immediately acknowledged and drink orders taken. After waiting another 30 minutes we left. This franchise has changed a lot. Not the same as it was when I used to go all the time. The food is over seasined and while the menu has changed to keep things fresh. You can definitely get a great burger and beer from here and watch a game in the bar. This is a hit or miss depending on what city you are in to try it. I had the triple dipper (boneless buffalo wing, big mouth bites, chicken tenders) and a cup of tortilla soup. The soup was outstanding but the triple dipper chicken was dry and they no longer do the original chicken crispers in the beer batter type breading. The mini burger was dry as well. Service is great, have been there several times and they are always attentive but not clingy, perfect. Burgers are a little hit or miss seasoning and preparation-wise, but never even close to bad. The chili's is 3 for 3 for disappointment. Time after time they always know how to get on your nerves. The service is unbelievably aggravating. I came once before I was understanding then the exact same service was given to me twice after that. The wait time to is shocking or how many tables they have. I attempted to call ahead of time to get a table ahead of time if anyone came to the phones. I've called twice with a 31 minute wait on the first call and a 37 minute wait on the second one before the hung up on both. Upon arrival my friend and I were left waiting at an empty hostess station with two other groups of guests. After a while it became clear why: There was no one to bus the tables. Instead the friendly yet meek hostess was doing her job and clearing off tables, too. Once we were seated our waiter came for our orders. He never introduced himself, so I can't say what his name was. He was not personable. We ordered the "2 for $20" meal deal with an appetizer of onion rings, one plate of cajun chicken pasta, and one plate of the mango chile tilapia. Our drinks were brought out to order. Some time later a woman came to the table to tell us they were out of onion rings, among other things, and were waiting on a shipment to arrive from the Chili's in LaPlace. She said eggrolls were an option, so we chose them. Our plates arrived before the eggrolls. My friend's chicken was dry as if it had been sitting under a heating lamp for a considerable amount of time. My tilapia was raw - not fully cooked - and the broccoli was burnt in places. A third person, a young man, brought out our eggrolls. I advised him my fish hadn't been cooked properly and he took a sample to the back to show the cook. Thankfully, he removed the tilapia plate from our bill. Our waiter came to check on us and was shocked to find the tilapia was raw. He took a second sample back to the cook. He also inquired why we had eggrolls instead of onion rings. What happened Chili's? This is the second time in a row the restaurant has failed to meet expectations. The food wasn't just not good, it was a safety risk. The staff were discombobulated, with no one apparently communicating with anyone else. I don't think we'll come back for a while. read more

First off I must say that I'm not one to complain about any restaurant that I've dined in ever before. This Chilis in Hammond,Louisiana was my breaking point!! As we were being seated within 10 minutes the manager I'm not sure what her name was but she came to our table and said that they had a mishap in the kitchen and said that she's sorry for the wait time and that our table (of 4 adults and 1 child) would receive dessert on the house. Our waitress was just fine while we were ordering alcohol, but when it was time for our food to be ordered and served there was so much attitude. Even the people in the next table behind us sensed it as well. I have never in my life felt like I was a burden at any chilis restaurant I've ever been to, not to mention we go to many chilis and the one was our favorite. I'm a huge fan of the chipotle chicken crispers, I order them every single time I come to chilis. My friend as well loves then original chicken tenders (the non crispy, she's very specific). Her original chicken tenders came in crispy which she does not like. They had forgotten the fries and chipotle sauce that came with my chipotle crispers and waffles, so since my friends chicken tenders were going back they decided to give me her fries instead. When my friends original crispers came back they had absolutely no batter on them, as if the tenders were fried in oil with no batter at all and that was it. Her fries and loaded mashed potatoes were freezing cold. We had 0 refills the whole time we were there. The waffles I received with my crispers tasted like they were uncooked. When my friend finally got a hold of the waitress it took 20-25 minutes. She then asks for the manager and then asks if the original chicken crispers recipe had been changed because they are supposed to be cooked to a fluffy consistency rather than no batter at all. The manager then begins to tell her what the difference between crispy and original is, and that she received her original tenders and says but yes the recipe may have change some weeks back. And also says but i know what you mean when you say fluffy, like how the Chinese make it, like a Chinese restaurant, like Chinese tempura. After that awkward comment she asks my friend if she would like something on the house and my friend replied yes a simple burgle would be fine. Nothing fancy about the burger, meat,cheese, mayo,and bacon. The burger came back another 20 minutes later.... I was a huge fan of Chilis and this location was my favorite. But last night will be my last visit to this location. Not to mention we never got that desert. read more

This is by far the worst Chili's I have ever been to. Every time I go there, there is some issue. The last time I went there, a few months ago, I swore would be my last. We waited about 15 minutes before being seated. The restaurant was almost empty. After being seated the server said we could not order anything that contained beef, because they were out of all beef. I told the server to tell the manager to get his/her butt in the car and go to the grocery store and buy some meat. We found something to order and of course the order got screwed up. The icing on the cake was when I asked the server to bring me some melted butter for my broccoli. About 15 minutes later the server showed up with melted butter that was ice cold. I've never seen ice cold melted butter until this visit. The Hammond Chili's is an embarrassment to the Chili's franchise. The management needs to be fired for doing such a poor job.
