Overcooked burger and undercooked fries. Won't be ordering from them again. Was worth a try.

I definitely won't be coming back. We went there on a Wednesday night at 8pm. There were all kinds of tables open and they told us there would be a 10 minute wait. We were seated after 10 minutes, then waited another 15 before they even came to take our drink order. We told the waitress we would go ahead and order everything then, partially because we had ample time to memorize the entire menu but mostly because we didn't know if she would ever be back. I had an old fashioned that might have well been a virgin because I tasted absolutely 0 alcohol. (Stuck with beer after that so I could at least get a buzz while tied up here the entire night.. We waited well over 45 minutes for our food. I ordered the smokehouse combo with the ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and the brisket quesadillas. The ribs were the driest, most rip-and-tug-violently-off-the-bone things I have ever eaten. The brisket quesadillas had a very small pinch of brisket in the very middle of them, so I guess my cheese quesadilla was ok. The jalapeño sausage was good, only because that came pre packaged I am sure and was not created by anyone in that restaurant. I also received some of the honey bbq chicken crispers that I didn't order (I'm assuming a thank you for not bitching like everyone else in the restaurant was that night gift). These were actually delicious and was the best thing I had all night. My wife ordered a Santa Fe chicken salad. The lettuce was starting to brown around the edges and wilt. It was in no way "fresh". And on top of it all they do not do buy one get one free drinks like they do at the Princeton, WV location, which is always on point by the way. (I told my wife that in the amount of time we wasted in this restaurant that night I could have went all the way to Princeton, had a nice dinner, and been home in about the same amount of time, and that was no lie!) The manager was really trying, you could tell he knew they were falling short. He came to us unprovoked and said he noticed our food was taking too long and thanked us for our patience. The wait staff spent more time talking and screwing off with each other than they did serving patrons. The bus boys would stop to check the score on tv rather than clear tables. That entire restaurant needs to be purged of bad employees.. hell with the small size, that place could run with 2 servers, 1 bartender, 1 bus boy, and 2 cooks. No joke! Overall I would call my experience less than subpar. It will be a looooong time before I come back. Just be warned. read more

*Update: We did eventually ask for a manager because when we did get the bill it wasn't for our table. He did make things right.* Overall a terrible experience. I worked in restaurants for years, so I am pretty understanding on most things. Currently sitting and waiting on the check after being here an hour and a half for a party of 2. We had a 25 minute wait. No problem, it's a holiday. Our waitress greeted our table quickly, but it went downhill from there. It took 30 more minutes before she came back to get our order. It took another 25 for the food to come out. No big deal, but items were missing from our order. I spent most of the meal with an empty drink glass. When it was refilled the tea was hot. Freshly made is fine, just put some ice in it. It takes 40 minutes from our house to get here and we definitely won't ever waste our time again. Made it through writing all of this and still don't have our check. read more

Definitely worth the wait!!! I got the oldtimer burger and fries with chips and salsa. The burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. Usually i eat about half a burger and take it home, i ate most of this one and its a nice size. The fries were seasoned to perfection. The chips and salsa were fantastic! The salsa was fresh and delicious! It has some heat to it but its sooooo worth it! I shouldve gotten pictures but next time i shall. Definitely will be returning with the family soon! read more

Umm space could be a lot bigger. The food although plentiful was not good. My kids and I left out of there feeling very nauseous.

Ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato only. Plate arrived with cold fries, hamburger having red onions pickle and mustard in addition to the requested cheese lettuce and tomato. Attempted to send back. Server said we could have and brought a to go container while they made new plate. New plate arrived. Cold fries. Cheeseburger with lettuce and mustard. Sent back and requested correct cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and to place in to go container as now the other person had already finished eating. To go container arrived. Didn't bother to check because history says it's wrong again. They charged for three burgers though the one was given. Manager is to refund for the two burgers after updating of the events (refund will take up to 7 days to receive). Got home. Cheeseburger had lettuce only. Meat is undercooked. Disassembled and finished cooking the hamburger. Threw away bun and the lettuce. read more

I have had nothing but terrible service here. I just tried placing an order for delivery and the system they used the wrong address. I have been trying for 30 minutes to get through and after several minutes it disconnects stating there is a problem with the phone system. So I try calling the number for the door dash guy and get no answer. This is the 2nd out of 2 tries that I have tried to use the ordering with the app. Never again. Doubt I will even come in and dine. read more

The food was to die for. The brisket quesadilla was amazing. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The chips and salsa were some of the best I've ever had. I hate to say that since it's an American restaurant but I've been to Texas and back and I have never had a better experience of chips and salsa. The waitress was kind and eager to assist. I've been to the new Chili's twice now. The food is solid, I mean nothing unique from other Chili's. However they are grossly understaffed and I feel bad for them. I've had a long wait both visits yet there were sections of open tables both times which simply could not be used because there was no one to wait the tables. Our order was taken within a reasonable time but food to table was slow. It seems they are trying but just don't have enough people. I fear they aren't going to survive. We were excited to try Chili's for the first time. My daughter's mother-in-law and I ordered the 6 oz. sirloin and asparagus from the guiltless grill. Asparagus was cold and stringy - terrible. Meat was okay, not great. My son's hamburger - patty pressed down flat and the whole thing was greasy. The broccoli served on my grandson's child's plate was unseasoned, cold, and rubbery. He wouldn't eat it and he is a broccoli fanatic. Appetizers were pretty good, though. read more

So we returned to Chili's this past Sunday for my wife's birthday dinner and it was a total let down...I don't know what happened since our first visit but they went from a strong 8.5 out of ten to a measly 3.5 out of ten. I really don't know if we will try Chili's again anytime soon.My wife ordered the steak dinner, which she sent back...basically it looked like a kids meal,and tasted tasteless,I even chuckled when I saw the plate, I ordered the Bbq Brisket burger and Mexican street corn...nothing special the server dropped my corn on the table, but immediately replaced it.I will say that the street corn was the best thing on our table, yeah really, another ordered the chicken fajitas and they brought her the wraps, sourcream, and shredded cheese, nothing else.She had to ask where is the rest of my food, as the server looked puzzled, and If I may add please change your fryer oil; everyones fries was really, really dark.The highlight of our visit was our waitress, who came to rescue and made sure that everyone had everything they needed and that my wife got to order something else off the menu inwhich she bought home and threw it in the trash...Come-on Chili's get it together we have enough just regular/okay restaurants in this area...management step up and train your cooks properly! read more

Information provided by restaurant said food would be ready in about 20 minutes and to check in upon arrival, which I did. After 40 minutes without any service, I went inside to find out the status. To my surprise, my food and drinks were sitting on a shelf for an indeterminate amount Of time. No employee greeted me at anytime, inside or outside. I had already paid and left a tip in advance. The food was lukewarm and the quality and service were poor-not worth the amount charged. This is the second time I have been there and received consistently poor results. I asked for no cheese on my burger, and it came with cheese. French Fries were warm at the most. The waitress was very nice but I did not send back because we had already waited a long time for the meal and I didn't want to wait for it to be re-cooked. read more

This was my first experience at the Chili's in Roanoke. It was a bit of a let down. Our waitress was... Not sure how to say this nicely... she was less than attentive. We ordered our food and waited almost an hour before I finally got up to talk to the manager. Our waitress never came back to say how much longer, ask if we needed refills, apologize for the wait... she just kept on walking by. The one time we did flag her down for a refill, she brought back the wrong drinks. The manager was very nice and took care of our check even though I didn't want him to. I just wanted my food, or at the very least an update. Especially as people who came in after us had been served and left before we finally got ours. I'm not talking about anything complicated here either... fajitas and the chicken tenders. Come on. The kids were happy with their chicken, my fajitas were extraordinarily bland and the guac that came with it was frozen solid. LOL!! So, I have no idea what that tasted like. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was because the manager was very friendly and apologetic. read more

1st time eating at Chili's in Roanoke. We had a wait for about 40 minutes on a Saturday. Francesca was our waitress, and she was awesome. We had a party of 7 plus a baby. She was attentive and got all our orders right. The only complaint I would have is that when our food was brought to us by the food runners, they forgot 1 meal altogether. The absolute worst restaurant in Roanoke right now. I have been twice since opening. First time I ordered the sliders and they were way under cooked. Waitress came and took it, ended up getting my check for the food before my food ever made it back. Second time I got a rancher burger again it was extremely under cooked. Waited 30 minutes to be seated, not that big of a problem, waited about 30 minutes for food to come out. One of the sides was completely burned! I mean charred. They took it off the tab but it was so awkward the way they handled this issue... it was just super chaotic and food was very mediocre. I get that it's a chain restaurant and ya get what ya pay for but from my understanding it's the only chilis in that area so they definitely need to up their game with management and training. read more

Food is amazing honestly everything me and my wife tried nothing was wrong with it. You also know the food is good when your 1 and a half year old daughter finishes all of her food too. But service wasn't the best but it wasn't the worse either. Just needs a little more work on servers being able to keep up with tables and taking care of customers read more

We waited for over an hour to be seated. After ordering our food, we never saw our waitress again. She never checked in with us throughout our dining experience. We ordered our food, and after waiting over 30 minutes, we flagged another employee down and asked about our order. She said that for dinner, a 45 minute wait was normal. After an hour wait two out of three of our meals were finally brought to our table by a different employee. We had to flag someone else down to get our third meal. By that time, we had drank our water and had to flag down someone else down for refills. Our waitress never showed up. We then had to look for someone else to bring us a box for our leftovers. The food was just average. Definitely not worth a two hour wait. Overall, this was the worse service I've ever had in any restaurant. They have lost our business. We won't be back. read more

We enjoyed our first experience at the new Roanoke, VA Chili's on 4/29/23. We went late afternoon and only had to wait for about 30 minutes. The Yelp link to the waitlist was right on target with our estimated seating time. Every employee we encountered during our visit was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food very much. Slow poor service. Food over salted. Staff not trained on how work the table top computers to pay check. Tried to over charge me $10.00. Manager was arrogant and unable to understand the problem. Had to get other employees to fix problem. Took over 30 minutes to the get bill straight. Waited for a long time for Chili's to open but will not go back. not worth the hassle! read more

The good: food quality, service. The bad: New restaurant and wayyy too small, who thought this out?? Biggest complaint is Chilis is losing its moderate price big portion appeal. The 3 for me has been dwindled so bad and upcharged at the same time that it's no longer a decent value. Ex. Honey Chipotle chicken crispers on 3 for me was 10.99, multiple crispers and two sides. Now it's $15 3 scant pieces of frozen chicken tenders with sauce on side and fries!! Don't put your new store under already!! read more

One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had! We've enjoyed Chili's in the past, but they must have changed hands in the last few years because the atmosphere and menu have changed dramatically. When we walked in we noted that it was extremely noisy and cold. We were given a little paper bag with knife and fork, but no napkins?? We ordered basically chicken sandwiches and fries to try things out. Our order came reasonably quickly, delivered by another wait staff. Still no napkins, and that person didn't offer us any! Eventually our original waitress did plop some napkins on our table. The bun on my sandwich was so huge that it was cumbersome to eat it without hurting my jaw, so I discarded it and just ate the chicken meat. Taste was so-so. We waited a few minutes after finishing our meal, and the waitress came by and said 'Pay now, cash or card?' We responded and she went away again. Eventually she came back with a little electronic tablet, and we offered her our credit card. She said 'No, I'm going to give it to you', and she plopped the tablet on our table and went away. She never told us how to play with this new little toy to pay our bill. We fiddled around for a few minutes with no success and finally flagged down a passing employee who got someone else who got someone else, etc. Eventually our original waitress came back and walked us through the 'simple 14 step procedure' to pay our bill. All the time we were getting angrier and angrier. We vented our frustrations to multiple employees who didn't seem to care. We definitely will NEVER come back. read more
