It's not a covid complication, this location is just unfortunately bad. The staff is rude every time, not just once or twice. There are of course nice employees but the bad outweighs the good here. Service is terrible. Food is extremely subpar, and I generally like chili's. Meh meh meh. We came here the night before my 25k trail race at Bastrop State Park because I knew I could get some pasta for the carbs. I mean, pasta is yummy. Chili's is yummy. It seemed like a win/win. No/no. Neither was a win. The service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. The waiter just seemed a little distracted. Maybe he had a hot date later and was distracted? Maybe he just didn't really give af? It's ok, I didn't really give af about the tip either, so it evened out. The food was lackluster. I get it, it's a Chili's, not a fine dining establishment, but we were sitting RIGHT BY the kitchen and our food was lukewarm. Did he take a detour? Maybe he was canoodling with his hot date; she or he had to be hotter than the food. I got the pasta and it was okay. I did not eat it all, and I was starving. I decided to carb up back at the hotel with some Fig Newtons. yes, i chose Fig Newtons over this mess of a pasta dish. It was the Chicken Alfredo one. The bread wasn't even that good. It was cold and dry. How do you mess up bread?! I was just glad to get our dinner over with and get out of there. The only reason it got 2 stars is that it was in the hotel parking lot and we didn't have to drive. I've got to say the wait wasn't terribly bad, actually was in earlier than expected to wait. Food was amazing. And the waitress Lexi was AMAZING. Her personality was on point! Definitely recommend requesting her. The only issue I see so far is the scan for the menu. I had to download an app for it. And also had to help a couple across the way. I just went to this Chili's for a job interview. A sign was taped to the door that said they didn't have AC but I noticed they had wonderful air-conditioning as I pulled open the door. I wondered if someone forgot to take this down. Next I saw four employees gathered around the seating podium gossiping and they didn't want to stop when stepped in. A young lady begrudgingly asked "how many." I then let them know I had an interview. They all turned to look at me, snickered, and scurried off to tell the manager. A manager came out after ten minutes, asked me what I was applying for, and let me know she didn't have any positions open anymore. She said she was only hiring cooks. I then replied that I could be a cook, and suddenly she wasn't sure that she needed cooks anymore. She said she'd need to ask her district manager "John." At this point it was obvious that I wasn't being considered due to my looks or demographic qualities. They didn't like the way I look. Upon leaving, I let the hostess know about the sign but she said they were aware the sign was there and said "sometimes it doesn't work." I suspect they are hoping people turn around and leave. What a horrible place to work. I highly recommend not working nor eating here. Just the few minutes I was there, I regret it. read more

Food here is always mundane but my server is friendly and efficient. I always order marg of the month and I'm consistently disappointed. Server suggested blueberry pineapple. Sounds good. I was completely humiliated today at a place that I frequent quite often (Chili's in Bastrop Tx) . From the time we sat down we were treated like we were bums looking for a handout . Told we couldn't have more than one beverage unless we order food while other patrons were sitting at the bar having shots. I spoke with the manager about our service and was told she instructed her staff to look out for her customers .We finished our meal, paid our tab using the remote kiosk on the table and proceeded to exit. Food is usually pretty good. No complaints on taste, but order consistency is pretty bad. The picture is their white queso, there was literally like a quarter of an inch of queso, topped with spinach, guac, pico and shredded cheese. Like, really? Solid spot to stop for a quick lunch. I've always been a huge fan of Chili's and with the recent redesign to their stores and expanded menu, it's gotten even better. They have an express lunch for $8 bucks where you can get a salad and an entree...an amazing deal! I had a Caesar salad and a burger and I was in and out within 25 minutes of being seated. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Chili's has always had fantastic burgers. Came in to kill a couple hours and sat at the bar. Shawna who is bartending is a rock star! She is handling the bar and all tables in the bar area like a boss. She makes sure I get refills while taking care of a lot of other people. She is friendly and professional, personable, and she is hustling. My daughter and her golf team dined here today for a late lunch. The food was pretty good but the time it took to get the food and their completey RUDE waitress moved this from a 3.5 to a 1 star. After visiting this Chili's location, I got food poisoning. My boyfriend and I had been here before and experienced low food quality (food coming out luke-warm) etc. However, our favorite place in town was closed and we thought we would visit again to see if they had improved. (We are big chips & salsa fans so we hoped they had gotten it together). Needless to say, after eating at Chili's around 7pm, by 3am I was violently sick with all the signs of food poisoning: vomiting, diarrhea, heavy nausea, chills. Wowza. The manager was a joke, walked past us twice and never asked us if we were okay or filled our drinks that were empty for 15 minutes. He honestly had no idea what was going on. As being in the industry for so long it was honestly embarrassing. I usually love chili's every time I eat at different locations I'm new to Bastrop and decided to try it out. Unfortunately my experience was horrible. Wait time took forever than what we were told, our non alcoholic beverages came with appetizers while the alcohol beverages sat at the bar for 20 minutes while we watched. Kept getting the wrong appetizers and meals every time our waitress came. I was a server for a few years at one point so I understand things happen but not every step of the visit. The team work was horrible no one helped each other until it was too late I know you have to focus on your own tables but if you see a team mate drowning and you have the time to stand around help out seriously. I probably won't be going to this location very often I did have high hopes but it was a bad experience. read more

No, I didn't make a phallic sculpture. The colorful magic seasoning on the gravy was magical. I have no idea what it was. Did I eat glitter? The white gravy was good. The corn-on-the-cob was tasty, but looked like someone had taken a bite out of it. I was confused. Did I bite the bottom, then the top?
