I really love this store for both gently used and new clothes for my daughters. I have been to other consignment stores and had to leave the moment I step in because of the smell. But everything here is neatly organized, the store itself is clean and bright. Childish Things is just fantastic. It has been my go-to place for baby/toddler clothes, shoes, bedding, etc. They seem to be very selective about what they buy because everything in the store is immaculate and in great condition. I have found wonderful, pristine items from expensive brands- oftentimes much better stuff than I could get new. Don't let the small size of the store fool you- it's packed with tons of great new and used baby and children's stuff. Great small store with nice used toys, clothing and shoes. Have a TON of girls clothes but not as much for boys. I have rarely seen commercial stuff here. They definately choose by label more than overal style of the outfits. At first I thought that was a negative, but I've noticed my purchases from this store have outlasted all my other buys, even from new stores. While I agree with many of the other comments on this site, I couldn't believe the prices. $9 for used jeans? You could go to Target and get the same brand for half that. I had a chance to look around at many of the items there while the saleswoman was going through my things and everything seemed to be way overpriced. I recently participated in a consignment sale and even there, things were not priced nearly as high and were just as nice quality. If you have money to spare and don't mind blowing it on clothes that kids will only wear for a relatively short period of time, then by all means go for it. Although the place is very well organized, and everything is very tidy, I wouldn't go back here again because I think it's ridiculous to pay the prices they are charging. I also was annoyed as I had brought in a lot of clothes and they didn't take any of it because they said they weren't taking infants' summer clothing, but I also had jackets, PJs, onesies, hats, pants, long sleeve shirts, etc. and unless I'm crazy, those items aren't only for use in the summer. I'm writing this review as a seller. This is actually a well run shop. In terms of passing along outgrown higher end clothing and gear this store has been hit or miss in terms of what they take like any consignment shop. Sometimes it's been a little and other times it's a lot. I think it's best to trust what the store finds value in. Do not take it personally if they reject the bag that you lovingly folded and prepared for sale. They are running a business and it is good thing that they are discerning and are selecting items that are likely to sell quickly. It is a small shop and they do a great job of organizing everything. One can walk around and breathe freely without feeling like they will get buried in kid clutter. This place does its best to resemble a boutique and I always see customers happily rummaging through the racks and picking up nice finds. Sure you would get more per item if you sold directly to a local buyer but that isn't the most efficient option for busy families. Hats off to those that can hustle tho. I quickly found out that I was not made for that game. As a seller, I'm not exactly thrilled with what I get back here considering the quality and cost of items I bring in. However, I understand that they do need to make a profit and still pass off a great deal to their consumer. All in all, there are many different avenues for sellers and buyers and that is a good thing for the secondary market. I imagine it takes a lot of work to successfully run a business like this and I am thankful that this is one option available for local families. read more

I love the clothing at this store. I was little annoyed when they did not buy any of my items, especially since I had gotten many at the store and some had only been worn once or twice. On the other hand as a shopper, I like that they are picky since it means that the store is packed with great clothing. I enjoy stopping in regularly to see what they have. I have gotten on their waitlist for a particular item and found that they contacted me promptly when they got one in stock. read more

The best consignment shop for babies and maternity that I've run into so far. It doesn't have that thrift store feel or smell of used either. They do sell new products as well. I love this store!! I only wish had come here sooner before I spent retail on items I use every day! Seriously.. They have just about everything for baby here, new or gently used. Awesome selection of cloth diapering accessories, nursing covers and pillows, hats, onesies, socks, etc. everything is organized in plastic bins that can be pulled out and rummaged through. Very reasonable prices on brand name selections. I will definitely be back! I haven't sold anything here so I can't speak to that. However, I do buy here frequently. I love the selection of consignment items for my daughters. I am particular about brands and find that most consignment stores offer up name brands but not at much of a "consigned" price. I could buy something new for less at other places. The store is small and offers very few parking spots. Still for a clean, well -organized store offering great deals on clean consigned clothes (and new thigns also!) I would make the trek here any day. The sales associates were knowledgeable and friendly and my daughters enjoyed the small play area they have. read more

This is a great consignment store! They have a great layout which is not over stuffed and it is easy to find items. They carry a full rang of items, I was able to find maternity clothes, cloth diapers, toys, shoes, bedding and clothes for my baby all in one trip. Their prices are extremely reasonable and you can find all levels of brands (Carters to Burberry) which I appreciate. You can also buy new items there as well. Yes, mostly girl items but they had about two racks of boy items that were in great condition though priced slightly more than other stores. I found some maternity items that were in good condition and moderately priced. Spent about $50. Not the cheapest but enjoyed my visit there. The sales lady was helpful also. read more

These guys rock! I went hoping to find a stroller, which they didnt actually have at the moment, but they put my name on a wishlist. They had a wonderful, clean, organized and well lit store. They didnt mind my husband and I bringing in our seven month old daughter to play with toys. When we went to purchase the toys our daughter liked best we were shocked by how low the prices were. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this place is TOTALLY overpriced and the amount you get when consigning doesn't reflect the price they put on your stuff. A used Columbia jacket for $29.99? Used, smelly Keen sandals for $19.99? I can get both those exact items NEW for that price or lower at Nordstrom Rack. If you are coming to a used clothing store it should be priced like USED clothes. Eeek! Me thinks NOT fits to the T! Reading reviews I was so excited to sale and get a little cash for my maturnity clothes and some things my LO has grown out of. I was so disappointed in what they offered after looking at prices they wanted, but I thought since I was selling yeah for me thinking for sure I'd walk out with $30 at least! BIG NOPE they wanted only 3 things and offered $10 or $14 in store credit. I took the cash with the after thought of I shouldn't have since I would have done better selling it all myself! Note: I'm writing this on my husband's account. Overall, this is my go-to place when I want to look for quality used items that I probably wouldn't find at the thrift stores. For example, I've purchased a used halo sleep sack; pottery barn chamois crib sheets; kushies diapers; nice bunting suit. Things I will consider buying in the future: Robeez shoes; See kai run shoes; baby proofing items; more diapers? Generally though, I haven't found it worth it to buy normal clothes there. I go there more for other baby needs. Also, their boy selection is really small (i know it's something they can't really control since it's about what people consign). Additionally, I do like the new products they carry. They have very cute toys, feeding products, etc. So it's a nice shop to browse. As for consigning, they don't give you much for what you bring in- so be prepared. They are trying to run a business so don't forget that! read more

A good selection of unique items - not just the common brands. Highest quality clothes and shoes of any local consignment store. This store has some stylish maternity clothes. Also a good selection of new items (though mostly aimed at babies). If I was rating this store just on the items I have looked through and the items I have purchased, I would have given them 5 stars, however, who really takes the time to right a perfect review unless they are getting paid to do it, right? So, with that being said, lets talk about 2 things. One being the selling of your "gently used" children's items and the other being the customer service and staff. Today, was my 4th and last time selling my items here. The inconsistency and low prices given are very frusturating. You never really know what kind of day its going to be. They have taken items and offered next to nothing for the value and they have taken items and given way more than I was expecting. What they turn away is mind boggling! And heaven for bid you ask why the inconsistency and you will leave there feeling horrible. The staff and owner here are very unfriendly and rude! No skills on how to handle people and the concerns they may have. Even before I raised the question concerning the selling of my items, I felt they were very abrasive and lacked people/customer service skills. Clearly the way the owner runs her business has rubbed off on the other employees. If you are only buying items at this store, you probably wouldn't notice these issues, but if you are also trying to sell your items, at some point you will probably stop shopping there all together! I personally would rather give my items to friends or charity than give any business to this store!!! read more

Im new to consigning and Childish Things was one of my first stops...I brought in a giant box and the woman took the time to look at and inspect each item with care and only took the best of the best! They gave me fair prices for my items and I opted to receive store credit to buy the most gorgeous little party dress I have ever seen in an infant size! The clothes are dirt cheap and excellent condition! I can hardly wait to make another trip up there for more quality clothing for my children at very fair prices! There are some cool things here. Nice and clean, not crowded. However, the prices are much higher than other consignment stores. They have nice brands but if I wanted to pay 10-20$ a shirt I would just buy new. They also have quite a bit of new merchandise and a good used cloth diaper selection. I just tried to sell some of my son's clothes and shoes here and they only took TWO items...for THREE DOLLARS. I totally understand that when you sell items, the value goes down quite a bit but that was ridiculous. I walked around the entire store and saw overpriced bottles and snack containers but then some of the most worn and ugly clothes. Seriously? I brought in barely worn converse and nike shoes plus a ton of shorts and shirts in great condition but they took none of it and when I asked why, the older woman (in her 50s?) barely looked me in the eye and didn't really give me an answer... They have clothes on the racks (at least boys clothes) with stains and other signs of wear but meanwhile won't take anything I bring even if it is in great shape. And they are rude. recently attempted to sell some gently used items from nb-6 months from the typical baby brands (gap, carters) and they did not take much and offered little money. i also feel like the workers there are a bit condescending and based on the owners responses to yelp reviews i can see where it is coming from. they sell a lot of things used for more than you can buy them for new in store. i understand that they have to make money and pay employees but its not really a consignment store if its selling items for more than new. read more

I am very pleased with my experience at Childish Things today! The staff was incredibly helpful- pointing out deals that had just arrived or been placed on the floor. Everything was very clean and organized by both size and color. I was searching for maternity clothes and found a pair of AG jeans for $24, cute Gap green short cord skirt, Pea in the Pod tweed trousers, Mimi Maternity brown cardigan, and white and black Bella Bands... all for under $70! That's a great deal! When I get a little further into my 2nd trimester I may splurge for a pair of the MANY designer jeans they had for $60. And I was very surprised by their size selection. All my purchases were size M but they had a good selection in S, M, L, and even XL. And their kid clothes- super cute and great quality! I will definitely be back again. read more

So far this is the best kids' consignment store I've been to. The atmosphere is nice and the items are clean, in good condition, and displayed well. Also, the prices are reasonable, better than the other stores actually. This store doesn't have as much gears as the others though. You'll always have the welcoming scent of vanilla candle when you visit this store. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't believe I just heard about this place. Thank you Yelp and everyone who posted before! This place has a large amount of clothing for babies-preschoolers. Everything is in immaculate condition. They are VERY choosy! I found many hard to find brands for my toddler including Deux Par Deux, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, Hanna Andersson and more! The also have lots of gear from strollers to bath gear, bouncy chairs, jumperoos and lots and lots of baby toys. They also have some great books - although the books are a little more expensive than other used children's books (they are half off the cover price of the book). read more

I was looking for some affordable second-hand maternity clothes, and this place was a great place to start. Although their selection isn't huge, it is quality. I was able to pick up two Olian tops for a good price. I even picked up a winter jacket that seems barely used at all. The yelp deal I bought while in the changing room helped me save an extra $10. read more
