Unfortunately, after two previous good experiences with Athletic PT, this most recent time isn't going well, and I'm going to be making a change. After Covid, this particular location gave up about half of its previous space, making what remains feel small; even claustrophobic. I don't care for all the patients being almost on top of each other in the back treatment room. Going through physical therapy feels like it should be a private experience, or at least semi-private. At this stage of my life, I don't enjoy being cheek and jowl with other patients. They have also cut the amount of time spent with each patient, which surprised me, and not in a good way. There's also a lot of noise happening - the music is loud, and the therapists and their assistants are making chit-chat talk with each other. It wasn't relaxing to be in that environment. This makes me sound like a crotchety old lady, but I think that a Zen-like environment might be more healing than a Gold's Gym (not to pick on them, per se) kind of work-out shop. When I walked out of the first hands-on appointment I told Dear Hubby that it didn't go very well, and in fact was causing pain in my lower back that I hadn't had when I went in to work on my knee. I spoke with several friends who've been through PT to rehab from surgeries and they urged me to move on if I'm not feeling comfortable. I expect that Athletic PT does good things for many others, but in it's current incarnation, and my current physical state, it's not a good fit for me.

Truly Life-Changing Care for Upper Arm Pain! I highly…read morerecommend Body Mechanix Physical Therapy. When I first came in, I was suffering from severe pain in my upper arm that made simple tasks--like reaching for something in the backseat--excruciating. I was worried I would need to limit some of my activities permanently. From the very first session, my physical therapist (I worked with Taylor) was exceptional. Rather than just giving me generic exercises, she conducted a thorough assessment and created a personalized treatment plan focused specifically on my recovery goals. She explained why certain movements caused pain and educated me on the mechanics of my injury. At the beginning of each of my treatment sessions, Taylor would take the time to listen to any questions or concerns I had on the use of my upper arm before beginning treatment. Then she would measure any progress made from the last session to determine if the treatment plan is working or if she should modify it. The combination of hands-on treatment and targeted exercises led to incredible results. Within several weeks, my upper arm pain was gone, and by the end of my program, I had regained my strength and mobility in the upper arm. I can now reach for anything in the back seat without the excruciating pain. If you are dealing with chronic pain or mobility issues, this is the place to go. Taylor and her team (including physical therapy assistants and receptionists) are professional, compassionate, and truly dedicated to getting your mobility back to 100%.

They and their staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and the environment is wonderful. They all care deeply a out their patients. If I ever have to go to PT again (which I hope I don't) and I'm still in this area, I will DEFINITELY go back. They both took the time to answer questions and told me what they were doing and why. I would HIGHLY recommend them if you need PT services. I remember Taylor telling me that while she was working on me in the beginning, if something hurts, let her know. The movements should be uncomfortable but not be painful.

I scheduled an appointment yesterday to see Dr. Wang at 2:00 PM today for a painful, suddenly swelling cyst on my hand. Because they confirmed this appointment, I cancelled a backup appointment I had with another doctor for next week, and was relieved that I would be seen sooner. However, today, on the morning of my appointment, I received a voice message and text message stating my appointment was cancelled and that I needed to call a billing number. This "billing" number turned out to be a cell phone number that took me five attempts to finally get through to. When I finally reached someone, I was told I could not be seen because of an alleged unpaid balance for a MRI from 2007. That is 19 years ago. I have absolutely no recollection of ever having an MRI done by this provider and believe this is a mistake. Even if it were true, they checked their records when I made the appointment yesterday and noted that I last visited in 2015. Although I don't recall what the visit was for, I would most likely remember if I had been advised at that time that there was an unpaid balance. During yesterday's call to set the appointment, they did not at any time mention that I had an unpaid balance, despite spending about 15 minutes on the phone with me to update their records. Today, 19 years later, they are claiming I have an unpaid balance arising from a MRI allegedly performed 19 years ago, and used this as an excuse to cancel my current appointment. Needless to say, I am livid at the unprofessional, rude and vindictive manner in which this was handled. I have no opinion of Dr. Wang, since I didn't get to see her. Her website bio details demonstrate that she has a decent educational and professional background, so she may be a great doctor, but the office management of her practice is rude, unprofessional and couldn't care less about you or whatever pain you may be experiencing. Because I made the mistake yesterday of relying on Ventura Orthopedics' confirmation of today's appointment, I cancelled my appointment with the other doctor. Since Ventura Orthopedics waited until the day of my appointment to cancel my appointment, I cannot find a replacement for today, and I am forced to endure pain over the weekend and into next week as a result of the actions of the jerks who run this practice. Since their office management is untrustworthy and despicable, I would not recommend Ventura Orthopedics to anyone.
