Its message concerns perpetuating a tradition of exceptional service to the medical profession using evidence-based techniques and dedicating time to every patient, each of whom is to be served with compassion and integrity. The message may commemorate the original owners but is true about Blake and Taylor and two therapists who work with them, Andy Macdonald and Erik Iversen. Even if Blake and Taylor and their team may not work any actual miracles, the halt and the lame heal. I've seen it. In my own case a very rare, incurable genetic disease weakens my muscles by counteracting innervation and disabling the systems that keep a healthy person on balance. All Blake and Taylor can do for me is teach me exercises that counteract the steady weakening of my muscles and help me practice balancing. I'm more able to regain my balance and much stronger and more balanced than I was when I began working with them--much. Still, as my nerves continue to degenerate I must keep doing therapy indefinitely into the future. Attending every week, I see other patients progress. People in wheelchairs stand up and walk. People barely able to lift their feet step over obstacles. People who cannot stand without a walker start pedaling an exercycle or pushing a leg press. Blake and Taylor begin with each patient where that patient is: when I began with them, I couldn't trust myself to land safely if I jumped even slightly. I still will never dunk, but I can leap. And all of this progress proceeds in an air of relentless positivity and encouragement. The trainers are encouraging and helpful, the office staff is helpful and encouraging, everyone is just positive throughout. Nothing is ever said except to achieve progress. The work is hard for me and others, but we push ourselves cheerfully because Blake and Taylor create an atmosphere that sustains us. I tripped once--Blake left his own feet diving under me to cushion my fall. Could I have six stars, please? Or maybe twenty? It's that good.

The facility is under new management and you can feel the go getter energy once you walk through the front doors. I am currently being seen for a lumbar issue that has been ongoing for the past 20 plus years. I am finally knowledgeable on what to do when I have a flare up, all thanks to the guidance of both Blake and Taylor, of course. Their approach of educating and therefore empowering the patient on proper body movements is refreshing. My husband recently fractured his ankle and there was no doubt on who he would be seeing for this physical hiccup. I have come a long way since the start of my treatment in mid March. I am feeling so much better but understand that I need more sessions so that I continue to have proper body mechanics - yes, pun intended. New injury, old injury or feeling not optimized physically, give Body Mechanix a call.

I went to Genesis PT before and after surgery - a total of 14 months...mostly worked with Justin, but I also saw Josh...along with the multiple aides for exercises, ultrasound and therapeutic massage (Jackie). The whole team at Genesis run by Dr. Ray Camacho is top notch - I got to know them pretty well, and the entire place is run like a well-oiled machine when it comes to good and effective care, professionalism, and expertise. The front office staff was always on top of requesting insurance approval at the right intervals so that my care always continued with no interruptions - the receptionist always made sure to remind me that I could set up more appts, as she kept careful track of when my next/last appts were scheduled. SMART, kind, friendly and good people work here! Best of all, I have full range of motion back with no pain. It was a long, difficult road to recovery, but I know this team made at the difference in my healing process (after switching from two other Simi PT businesses that I was dissatisfied with). Go here if you want good care.

Unfortunately, after two previous good experiences with Athletic PT, this most recent time isn't going well, and I'm going to be making a change. After Covid, this particular location gave up about half of its previous space, making what remains feel small; even claustrophobic. I don't care for all the patients being almost on top of each other in the back treatment room. Going through physical therapy feels like it should be a private experience, or at least semi-private. At this stage of my life, I don't enjoy being cheek and jowl with other patients. They have also cut the amount of time spent with each patient, which surprised me, and not in a good way. There's also a lot of noise happening - the music is loud, and the therapists and their assistants are making chit-chat talk with each other. It wasn't relaxing to be in that environment. This makes me sound like a crotchety old lady, but I think that a Zen-like environment might be more healing than a Gold's Gym (not to pick on them, per se) kind of work-out shop. When I walked out of the first hands-on appointment I told Dear Hubby that it didn't go very well, and in fact was causing pain in my lower back that I hadn't had when I went in to work on my knee. I spoke with several friends who've been through PT to rehab from surgeries and they urged me to move on if I'm not feeling comfortable. I expect that Athletic PT does good things for many others, but in it's current incarnation, and my current physical state, it's not a good fit for me.

Sometimes James and others depending on when I could get and evening appointment. I liked the fact that they all worked together in a family atmosphere. I learned many exercises that I could do at home and did them faithfully. Both myself and my Surgeon were very happy with the results. After suffering a ruptured Quad, I had the good fortune of finding a great surgeon Dr Ali Motamedi, at Ventura Orthopedic in Thousand Oaks, and had my surgery in Camarillo. After my surgery I had my PT in Simi Valley. My surgeon did a fantastic job reattaching my Quad tendon, but warned me that it would take at least 6 months of hard work to heal properly. Bottom line, My Surgeon did a great job, My Physical Therapist gave me the tools, and I did the work. Now, I walk without limping, I can go up and down stairs. I feel almost the same. I scheduled an appointment yesterday to see Dr. Wang at 2:00 PM today for a painful, suddenly swelling cyst on my hand. Because they confirmed this appointment, I cancelled a backup appointment I had with another doctor for next week, and was relieved that I would be seen sooner. However, today, on the morning of my appointment, I received a voice message and text message stating my appointment was cancelled and that I needed to call a billing number. This "billing" number turned out to be a cell phone number that took me five attempts to finally get through to. When I finally reached someone, I was told I could not be seen because of an alleged unpaid balance for a MRI from 2007. That is 19 years ago. I have absolutely no recollection of ever having an MRI done by this provider and believe this is a mistake. Even if it were true, they checked their records when I made the appointment yesterday and noted that I last visited in 2015. Although I don't recall what the visit was for, I would most likely remember if I had been advised at that time that there was an unpaid balance. During yesterday's call to set the appointment, they did not at any time mention that I had an unpaid balance, despite spending about 15 minutes on the phone with me to update their records. Today, 19 years later, they are claiming I have an unpaid balance arising from a MRI allegedly performed 19 years ago, and used this as an excuse to cancel my current appointment. Needless to say, I am livid at the unprofessional, rude and vindictive manner in which this was handled. I have no opinion of Dr. Wang, since I didn't get to see her. Her website bio details demonstrate that she has a decent educational and professional background, so she may be a great doctor, but the office management of her practice is rude, unprofessional and couldn't care less about you or whatever pain you may be experiencing. Because I made the mistake yesterday of relying on Ventura Orthopedics' confirmation of today's appointment, I cancelled my appointment with the other doctor. Since Ventura Orthopedics waited until the day of my appointment to cancel my appointment, I cannot find a replacement for today, and I am forced to endure pain over the weekend and into next week as a result of the actions of the jerks who run this practice. Since their office management is untrustworthy and despicable, I would not recommend Ventura Orthopedics to anyone.

I have seen a good number of Physical Therapists throughout the years because I had 2 arthroscopic knee surgeries, right rotator cuff tear and 2 herniated discs in my low back. I scheduled an appointment with the Physical Therapist Betsy in the morning around 9am for my left knee. I gotta say, she is amazing!!! She took the time to evaluate not only the main problem I came in for but all the other problems I had. She said the reason why she does a thorough evaluation is because any problems I have may be related or even cause my knee/back pain. No other therapist took the time to do that! During my next follow up visits, she spent the whole hour working with me and was very hands on unlike other therapists who give you exercises and leave you to do it by yourself. She also explains why she has me do certain exercises and what muscle or body part I am strengthening or stretching and why it is beneficial to my condition. Another great thing was every time I came in, she had a different exercise program for me so it wasn't boring and also progressed my repetitions and weights as she saw me improve. She is very knowledgable has a great and energetic personality even when I see her as early as 8AM which I need to feed off of especially when I haven't had my coffee! =) I have seen her for about 4 weeks and she has done wonders not only for my knee but my back, shoulder and posture. Hopefully, I don't get another injury, but if I do, I'm certainly coming back to see Betsy.
