I have been very happy with my therapy sessions. My neck really needs attention and they do a great job.

Had shoulder surgery to fix a rotator cuff tear, tenodesis to relocate my bicep tendon with scar tissue debridement and capsular release for frozen shoulder. I went to Genesis PT before and after surgery - a total of 14 months...mostly worked with Justin, but I also saw Josh...along with the multiple aides for exercises, ultrasound and therapeutic massage (Jackie). The whole team at Genesis run by Dr. Ray Camacho is top notch - I got to know them pretty well, and the entire place is run like a well-oiled machine when it comes to good and effective care, professionalism, and expertise. The front office staff was always on top of requesting insurance approval at the right intervals so that my care always continued with no interruptions - the receptionist always made sure to remind me that I could set up more appts, as she kept careful track of when my next/last appts were scheduled. SMART, kind, friendly and good people work here! Best of all, I have full range of motion back with no pain. It was a long, difficult road to recovery, but I know this team made at the difference in my healing process (after switching from two other Simi PT businesses that I was dissatisfied with). What a amazing place! I just came off a surgically repaired bicep tendon and labrum. Genesis has a great staff with hard working knowledgeable therapists that worked with me during my recovery. The offices are well kept with ample room and equipment for anybody's needs. My Therapist was Christina that I highly recommend. She was knowledgeable and has great communication skills, explaining each exercise, the proper form, the muscles it isolates, as well as what it strengthens and how it benefits you. In the future if I'm in need of any physical therapy I'll definitely be back. Ray the owner and all his staff are great. You'll be in good hands. read more

I wish I could give these people a positive rating. This is my goal after seeing any medical provider to do so. Unfortunately for me, I have a rare and debilitating condition that Genisis "claims" to treat. The truth is, they are far better suited to treat women than me, as 70% of women come down with this horrific ailment. I had been going for PT and was happy with the therapist. One Friday I was extremely frustrated and passed an "inappropriate" remark. On the scale of being "inappropriate," it was a 1/10. On the following Monday I received an email that I was being discharged, and in their opinion need mental help. This in my opinion, was reprehensible. They are not psychiatrists at Genesis, nor do they have much empathy either. I have taken a long time to write this review, as I wanted to be fair. My hypothesis is they have never helped any males with this condition...EVER. So, while they have all these glowing reviews for women they have helped with birthing and endometriosis, if you're a male with Pudendal issues you're better off going to a specialist. read more

Been going to Dr Ray for a frayed meniscus. Don't let the outside look fool you. The place is spacious, very nice and clean with plenty of equipments. The location is conveniently close to the 118 freeway, easy in and out access with plenty of parking. Dr Ray is very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to treat my knee. I would like to provide a review about my wonderful experience with Genesis physical therapy in Simi Valley. I have been coming to this clinic for the last two years for treatments for my back, my balance, my shoulder, and more recently after having a knee replacement. The physical therapists at this agency have been wonderful. I received excellent care, kindness, and therapists that listen to what I needed to share regarding my concerns and my progress. At the beginning I saw a very knowledgeable therapist by the name of Elli who is a doctor in this field with a lot of experience, after that I saw Justin who was also great and provided me with suggestions for my treatment and offered wonderful massages to my knee that helped with the tightness and the pain. The associates Diana, Geo and Steffie worked with me on the exercises planned by my therapists for my care. They were kind and paid attention to how I was doing them at all times. I appreciated that. I felt that they really cared about me as a patient. I have attended physical therapy at another facility in Santa Monica where I used to live and I can honestly say that this clinic offers a better and wonderful service from the moment you walk in. They are on time which is important to me as well. The front desk staff, Becky and Kim are always helpful and welcome you with a greeting and a smile when one walks in, which makes it pleasant as a client. Both were also very helpful and patient when I needed to make my scheduling arrangements which required a lot of coordination since I have to attend different doctors for my health care. They always were open to put me in the waiting list if I needed to try to get in sooner or at a more convenient time during the day. They called me and let me know when something became available. I appreciated the extra effort. I really valued the fact that my therapists Elli and Justin always answered my questions and responded to some concerns I had regarding my rehabilitation. They also were willing to provide me with suggestions of what I can do at home to support the work that we were doing in the sessions. Knowing that they cared kept me motivated and on top of what I needed to do to help myself in the healing process. That made a big difference to me. They also were able to validate my progress each time when I returned to the clinic for my follow-up appointments and acknowledged the work I have been doing on my own, This was supportive and it meant a lot to me. I feel that the owner Ray has a terrific team working for him in that clinic. I know that if I need Physical Therapy again, I will return to this clinic every time. I am a retired licensed clinical social worker from UCLA and I have been in the medical field for more than 30 years. I know when services that offer to help patients or clients that are in pain are in the hands of professionals that care, are kind and are willing to support the patient in the process of rehabilitation. There is also a friendly feeling when you walk into this clinic. Staff acknowledges you when you come in and it just makes a difference since when we come in we are in pain, uncomfortable. Walking into an environment like this makes a difference right away. I'm very lucky to have discovered the wonderful team at Genesis Physical Therapy through a Yelp review a few months ago... especially my therapist, Dr. Ray Camacho. Ray is a miracle worker. My scoliosis had worsened recently and I was finding it difficult to stand for more than 15 minutes without a great deal of pain. There are so many activities I enjoy, like hiking, cello, tennis and cooking, so I was hopeful that the therapy would restore my ability to still enjoy them all. It certainly did! After less than two months, I'm now able to stand for as long as I like and participate in everything I enjoy! Ray is an excellent diagnostician and because of his deep knowledge and insight about which procedures and exercises to apply, I progressed very quickly. He was as joyful about my progress as I was! Ray and his team demonstrated each exercise and helped me perform them correctly. His manual therapies were so helpful. Everyone was careful that I wasn't in any pain or discomfort. Ray is also the owner of Genesis Physical Therapy. I believe that a company's employees reflect the values of the owner. Ray is very kind, compassionate and as devoted to his work as anyone I've met. He was dedicated to using every bit of his expertise to help me feel better and stay that way. His team definitely reflects these values, so you can see why I experienced such a dramatic improvement. Genesis PT is the best physical therapy in Simi Valley. I spent 1 1/2 months after my laminectomy and spinal fusion at another PT in town and never had much improvement. I went to Genesis physical therapy for a few weeks to treat a partially torn Achilles tendon and plantar fasciitis. I had two places to choose from and picked Genesis thanks to their flexible scheduling. I've been to physical therapy and didn't know what to expect. There was no wait time for my appointment. I came to see Ray, the owner. He listened to my concerns, was very patient and took his time to observe not only my injury, but ways to prevent it in the future! Having kids put so much pressure on my back. Who knew multiple pregnancies could misalign your spine?! I was living with terrible lower back pain for years until I came to Genesis Physical Therapy. I had a great experience at Genesis! I was fortunate to have treatment here after getting an ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. The entire staff is knowledgable and friendly. I mostly worked with Luv and he provided relief, but that wasn't always the case. There were a couple times when I left in pain and in tears, because my knee was in a lot of pain, but he pushed my limit when need be. This is a well-equipped facility for your exercises. I would highly recommend this facility for your injury/pain. *There's ample parking since, this place is located in a plaza. * They accept worker's comp and most insurance. read more

First thing they said after the examination is " did you make your next appointment" without giving me any information about what he found during those examination. Before the examination, I waited for over 30mins after my appointment time, during a short time of less than 20mins physical examination, a staff came in interrupted the doctor and told him his next patient is ready and waiting. He rushed me out the office and told me to come back next time . My experience there was not pleasant. read more

I'm currently a patient of Genesis, after getting an ACL reconstruction/menisectomy. The entire staff here is nothing short of stellar. They are patient, encouraging, and super knowledgeable. I had questions about whether or not the pains/twinges I was feeling were normal; not only did they give me yes or no, but pointed out to me on a diagram of the knee exactly what was going on and why. Very nice to know. Great place....I won't lie, I do leave in some pain, but that's the name of the game with physical therapy. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

UPDATE: can't say AGAIN how wonderful they are. Went in yesterday 03/18/16 because of debilitating back pain since giving birth three weeks ago. It was hard to walk and my back kept spasming. Pilar worked on me for over an hour and I felt like a new person leaving. My hips and been rotated, and one was higher than the other, not to mention other areas that were out of alignment from breastfeeding. I felt like a new person leaving!!! She gave me some great exercises to help me stay in place and eliminate my pain! Staff is amazing and well trained and act like family with you and each other. Highly recommended! read more

Ray and the staff at Genesis are exceptional. There are no words how grateful I am to have found their office. In February of 2020 I lost sensation and motor control below my waistline. After a spinal fusion I regained some function and began the recovery process. At this time the majority of my legs had a MAP score of 0, with the highest score being 2. I was told by several other physicians that I would be better focused on adjusting to being in a wheelchair. Ray and his team were the first to give me a chance. They were there at every milestone, from the first time I straightened my leg to my first steps. I had a horrible experience when I needed someone to figure out why I was in so much pain. I called first and the receptionist assured me that I would "get some relief" after coming in. I made an appointment and it was the owner, Ray who assessed me. He was extremely rude, kept leaving the room and offered me water stating I might be dehydrated because I almost passed out. NO I WAS In PAIN that's why I came to you!! And he didn't even say thank you or please give me a call after you get an x-ray. The only reason I gave them two stars was because I had my children with me and they offered them water and were patient with them. Other than that, they deserve one. A waste of money and time and this did not seem like a compassionate place since I waited for thirty minutes after my appointment time, in pain, in their lobby with my kids, while they were partying and socializing in their Hawaiian outfits. After being in a rear end collision, I was sent by my doctor to Genesis for P/T. The staff was just phenomenal! Pilar and Rodney are top notch therapists and the girl at the the front desk (oops, I forget her name, Jen, maybe, oh darn!) is always very helpful and pleasant. It was just a few days after the accident that I started therapy (whiplash, neck and shoulders) and I quickly improved thanks to Pilar and Rodney.
