We brought our 13 month old son to Reid for help and advice when it came to helping him with language development. He was able to say a few words, but we thought he might be delayed. When we met Reid, she was not only kind and approachable, but extremely reassuring. As new parents, it's easy to feel like you are doing something wrong, yet Reid was able to give us the reassurance that everything was okay. Her assessment of our son was thorough and helpful, and allowed us to see where he could use extra help. It was at that point that Reid was able to give us simple and helpful instructions on what we could do as parents to encourage language development for him. She kept saying that once he got a couple words, he wouldn't stop. Over the course of a month, we met with Reid, shared our progress, and received helpful tips on continuing to enhance our son's development. Reid was completely right as he is now 16 months old, and a complete chatterbox, putting together multiple words and able to understand what he is saying and what it means. Teacher Reid is a total game changer! We've done speech therapy for a few years with several different speech therapists and specialists and it seemed like nothing was working. When I first heard of myofunctional therapy I thought there was no way my child needed that because in my ignorance, "it's not like his tongue was hanging out of his mouth".. but I was totally wrong! I had absolutely no idea the challenges my son had with tongue placement which affected his overall speech. And I was shocked that after so many speech therapists, no one ever tested him the way Teacher Reid did. She was literally able to pinpoint the issue immediately in our first consultation. Within just a few sessions we noticed a night and day difference. Teacher Reid works on targeting your child's specific needs and is so great at keeping their attention, being patient and redirecting and motivating them to continue to do better. She's very thorough and takes time to make sure we understand the "homework". We went to her to correct our son's lateral lisp and pronunciation and we are just amazed and blown away by his progress in a short period of time. When I look back, I realize that you can't expect a child to know how to ride a bike, if they don't know how to balance, or steer, or move the pedals.. Teacher Reid teaches and reprograms the way a child thinks about speech and how to articulate correctly in a fun non-stressful way. Reid is seriously the absolute best of the best! My daughter has been in speech therapy for about 2.5 years now. We have seen quite a lot of speech therapist's over that time due to the center we were at having a very high turn over rate. My daughter ended up hitting a wall and we were just not seeing any more progress. UNTIL we found Reid. This amazing human has a serious gift. Reid is an absolute life saver for our family. Omg! Where do I begin...she is truly a mother's dream! My kids were going to a previous myofunctional therapist. My mommy gut was telling me I needed to find a new therapist. Reid was referred to us with great reviews! Reid has been a game changer for my kiddos! My 7 year old (who has phonological speech delay, IEP with school for speech therapy, poor oral tone from infancy that carried over, posterior tongue, nail bitter, and open mouth chewer) and 6 year old (frontal lisp which distorts his sounds not only s lol, posterior tongue tie, and open mouth breather) started seeing Reid via zoom since January. Both kids have had their tongue tie released and my 7 year old had her adenoids removed. My 7 year old is on her last sound R, her oral tone/mouth control is stronger-just to name a few. I'm a 45 year old Firefighter and was dealing with extreme voice problems. My voice was really raspy and scratchy and I could not bring my voice to a loud decibel. With me being a firefighter this made it very hard for me to communicate with other firefighters when I was around loud equipment. My doctor diagnosed me with silent reflux which directly effected my vocal cords. This happened over the span of a year and my vocal cords were extremely irritated. I could not talk loud whatsoever especially if noise was present. I was very frustrated and was embarrassed about my voice problems. I needed to do something to get my voice back. I made some life changes in my diet and also decided to call a Speech therapist. I called RM Studio and talk to Reid over the phone. After talking with her the first time I knew she was the one that I wanted to work with for my current voice problems. She seemed very compassionate and caring in addressing my voice problems. My insurance tried telling me that she was not a preferred provider and I would have to pay for it on my own. I did not think my insurance company was accurate when they told me this. To make a long story short I ended up proving that my insurance company was wrong. So I was able to work with Reid in addressing my current voice dis function. She was a great help and was really interested in trying to help me gain back my full function of my voice. I really enjoyed working with her and am very thankful that she gave me the help I needed.
