I highly recommend Dr. Vu at Ventura Ortho! I originally saw Dr. Pahlavan for nerve pain in my…read moreleft leg caused by my lower lumbar spinal area. After talking with him and trying physical therapy and various medications that did not work and not wanting surgery I decided to try a lumbar epidural spinal injection to alleviate the pain. Dr Vu performed the injection. He explained the procedure in detail to me and the possible outcomes prior to the injection. It could or could not work and the duration of pain relief was undetermined based on the person and situation. I was happily surprised that the injection did work BUT unfortunately the pain returned gradually and was fully back approximately 2 months later and once again I was unable to resume daily activities without pain. Dr. Vu then spent time with me discussing other options we could try that could be helpful based on prior treatments not giving me relief. We tried another treatment and it has been a GAME CHANGER! I now have resumed all of my daily activities pain free!!!! NO PAIN! No surgery! He also gave me helpful stretches I could do at home. I like the fact that the doctors at Ventura Ortho Simi Valley, knowing that surgery was the very last option for me, worked with me as a team to find the best solution for my medical issue and did not give up. I am so happy with Dr. Vu and Ventura Orthopedics - Simi Valley!

I am angry and disgusted at the horrible office management at Ventura Orthopedics and warn anyone…read morereading this to consider the following facts before patronizing this patient-hostile provider. I scheduled an appointment yesterday to see Dr. Wang at 2:00 PM today for a painful, suddenly swelling cyst on my hand. Because they confirmed this appointment, I cancelled a backup appointment I had with another doctor for next week, and was relieved that I would be seen sooner. However, today, on the morning of my appointment, I received a voice message and text message stating my appointment was cancelled and that I needed to call a billing number. This "billing" number turned out to be a cell phone number that took me five attempts to finally get through to. When I finally reached someone, I was told I could not be seen because of an alleged unpaid balance for a MRI from 2007. That is 19 years ago. I have absolutely no recollection of ever having an MRI done by this provider and believe this is a mistake. Even if it were true, they checked their records when I made the appointment yesterday and noted that I last visited in 2015. Although I don't recall what the visit was for, I would most likely remember if I had been advised at that time that there was an unpaid balance. During yesterday's call to set the appointment, they did not at any time mention that I had an unpaid balance, despite spending about 15 minutes on the phone with me to update their records. Today, 19 years later, they are claiming I have an unpaid balance arising from a MRI allegedly performed 19 years ago, and used this as an excuse to cancel my current appointment. Needless to say, I am livid at the unprofessional, rude and vindictive manner in which this was handled. I have no opinion of Dr. Wang, since I didn't get to see her. Her website bio details demonstrate that she has a decent educational and professional background, so she may be a great doctor, but the office management of her practice is rude, unprofessional and couldn't care less about you or whatever pain you may be experiencing. Because I made the mistake yesterday of relying on Ventura Orthopedics' confirmation of today's appointment, I cancelled my appointment with the other doctor. Since Ventura Orthopedics waited until the day of my appointment to cancel my appointment, I cannot find a replacement for today, and I am forced to endure pain over the weekend and into next week as a result of the actions of the jerks who run this practice. Since their office management is untrustworthy and despicable, I would not recommend Ventura Orthopedics to anyone.

Eugene is great at communicating with me to find out exactly where the issues are (they tend to move and shift and change a bit week-to-week), and targeting them directly. Whether it be adjusting something new or maintaining the ongoing work, Eugene is on top of it. And although I've had some previous PT, the level of attentiveness that Margo shows when working on the actual exercise routine is beyond what I've had in the past. Margo makes the difficult stuff tolerable, she is solid in her knowledge of what needs to be accomplished, and she has always seemed like a champion of my progress. On top of all that, the office staff is super friendly and helpful, I can't even guess how many times Joanna has helped me with scheduling or billing or providing me with paperwork my insurance company requests. If you need Physical Therapy in Ventura, look no further, Two Trees is the place.

None of this initial paperwork, "see you next time" nonsense. Marc dedicated every ounce of his attention to Kyle, pushed Kyle (in a good way) to work hard and to challenge himself in therapy. Looking forward to our next appointment and to working with Marc as long as we need him! ‍

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

Across the parking lot, they have an assisted-living and a skilled nursing. I think through the time that my parents lived there. They probably had all three facilities well utilized. My dad died at Oakview in 2009 and we were treated with the utmost respect and there are some special messages that were said to me on that very sad day that I will treasure in my heart forever. My mom had to make the move from her studio living and had to go straight to skilled nursing because there's certain things they can't take in assisted-living. I just want to mention that my mom is so well cared for and the staff is so delightful and there's no way I'm gonna remember everybody's name but I want to wish a happy new year and a huge thank you too. -Lisa, Kathy, Oliver, Daisy, Carol, Hilda, Shelby, Lindsey (both), Maria, Amor, Dessa, Breanna, Emily, Jocelyn, Armando, Mahan, Sarah (both), Arianna, know I'm forgetting major names that I see all the time and I apologize.
