What a pleasant unexpected find! After a dental appointment, I walked down the sidewalk and literally ran into Chi'Lantro for a quick bite to eat. My mind mused what can I eat today that fits into the vegan bucket. So I decided to have a custom bowl...yes, that's the way to go. I started with sweet potato translucent noodles as my base, added protein of tofu and added red cabbage to my bowl. My bowl was brought together with a sesame vinaigrette dressing. So good...the sweet potato noodles were delightful to eat...smooth and soft with almost a gelatin feel gliding down your throat. The tofu was lightly crisp on the outside and smooth inside. The cabbage add that needed texture crunch. Sesame dressing...so, so, so good! The place was packed with the lunchtime crowd. However, the servers were very calm in the execution of their duties. They were super friendly and made suggestions for your dining delight. I will definitely go back again and try other non-vegan options!
The food is good but I ordered a fried chicken wing and it said 5-8 pieces and when I opened it, it was 4 pieces with a little tips that should not be counted as a piece.
Korean Chipotle, sick! Japchae is somehow 12g of protein? If that's true I'm excited but most japchae is pretty low in protein since it is sweet potato, so I'd be surprised. For a chicken japchae bowl I was calculating 70g of protein with cheese (nutrition from their website). Also spicy chicken is 38g of protein under 4oz which doesn't even add up with regular chicken breast. I was only invested because I was going crazy on boba and I needed to balance with some protein. If the nutrition is accurate, I have no idea where they're sourcing ingredients. Regardless, I'll continue to order the japchae because it is pretty tasty anyways, plus it's fairly unique. Anyway, this was an amazing find and I'm very grateful for the convenience of this location. Bowls look small but they're fairly filling and decently nutritious, even if the math isn't mathing.
Ordered tonight at 9pm TOGO, and they got just about everything wrong in my order. I did a build your own bowl with jachae noodles, and they gave me half noodles half rice in my bowl. I don't like rice at all, and quite frankly it ruined the meal. They gave me the wrong sauces, the tofu wasn't seasoned like usual, and I did curbside pickup and no one came out to bring the food. After waiting a while I went in, and to no surprise my food was sitting on the counter. I will definitely not be coming to this location again. Decent parking, vibey playlist, and tasty food. I was actually surprised because the options look very simple and it's not like a Cava or Chipotle that has rice and beans and toppings but with lots of other ingredients in them. This was cleaner but packs tons of flavor and for things like veggies and herbs, they really pop and create a lot of freshness which was so yummy. My drink reminded me of Cava options that are slightly sweetened but very refreshingly and the serving size was plentiful. Also nice touch if you are dining in, they provide you a ceramic bowl which has a nice touch and a nod to sustainability. I haven't been to the location closest to me but can't wait to try it. I've heard about this place for a while and it did not disappoint plus it's in a great plaza with other great stores.
I wasn't wowed by this place. It's just a Korean/Mexican fusion. Almost like a chipotle, but with a twist. The prices are kinda high for what it is. A salad bowl. Lol They do give a good amount of meat though, so they don't skimp on you. Flavors are good, almost every thing is spicy, so my kids couldn't really eat anything! Good drink choices, I like that the sodas aren't huge corporations like Pepsi or coke but more of the sugar cane local soda options! The a/c was blowing directly onto us and made it so cold for us to sit there eating but my husband didn't want to move. There might have been a slight disconnect with the employees having a hard time understanding or hearing what we were saying so we pretty much had to point to the menu to order.. even then asking for salsa on the side and repeating ourselves over and over was strange...
The food is a perfect blend of Korean and chipotle style servings. The kimchi fries are a must have! Please add the beef to it you will not regret it. Glad we stopped here on our visit.
Korean-Mex fusion with Korean Fries! Plenty of toppings, and plenty of sauce to keep your box mixed together. However, I felt that they didn't give enough meat or fries, but too much cabbage/toppings/vegetables. I'd like a box with more meat, fries, and sauce. Price is a little high for the size box that they give you, and although we shared it between 2 people, it definitely felt like a small snack. Overall, quick service in this fast-casual spot, and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a Korean-Mex experience. Not my go-to spot, but a good option.
Fast to-go dinner. Chi'Lantro offers a build-your-own option. Ingredients are fresh, portions are generous. Brown rice/mixed green base topped with marinated tofu, kimchi, and all the veggies. Korean esquites and magic sauce add a bit of sweetness. The bowl is big but still recommend getting the fries. Made fresh, served hot, topped with kimchi, cheese, sriracha, and magic sauce = guilty goodness.
First time at this location. The servers were nice and very helpful, offering suggestions like the Magic Sauce (a must have). Chi'Lantro is one of my go-to food spots here in Austin and a good place for groups of 4-8. There there plenty of long tables and the ambiance is calm yet efficient.
When we went in at 9 PM, the service was awesome and the food was so delicious. I've been to other Chi'Lantro locations around Austin and this was the best one I've tried, which prompted me to write this review. I love this place because you get a lot of food for your money, you can definitely split this up for lunch and have left overs for dinner and feel satisfied. The noodles blended excellently with the Spicy Pork and the veggies were fresh. I got the magic sauce on the side which I strongly recommend if you like spicy sauces, the heat level is not overpowering and so delicious at the same time. The location was very chill and welcoming I strongly recommend going!
First off thanks to the team that served us. I can tell they were short staffed, and beyond busy. Even in this situation they all worked together and were very friendly and helpful through the experience. At the end of our a meal a gentlemen (I wish I would have asked for his name) came and thanked us for our patience and being there. He did not have to do that and I can appreciate this amazing customer service. Now, the food was so fresh and tasty! I was really impressed with their options. At first it seemed simple, but once combined all the flavors popped and it was delicious. I will be back for some more :)
Chi lantro was recommended to me via a friend that has been in Austin for 10+ years. I can only assume that things have changed since she had been here last because I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. it's set up like Chipotle with a bar of toppings and sides to add to your bowl. this restaurant is relatively clean and the food is ok but where they get you is the price. I've never be so dissatisfied with a meal. They charge $14+ tax and tip for fries. $16 + tax and tip for Korean fried chicken. It is way over priced and the food mediocre. How can they call these wings korean fried chicken? these are regular wings with Asian inspired sauce. If you are looking for a bonchon equivalent, this is not the place. it costs us $40 for two people. I was so hungry after this meal I went and got a 2nd meal somewhere else. Come here if you want mediocre food and to get robbed. plus side, bathroom was clean

Tasty to-go dinner! I got half japchae noodles half veg with the spicy chicken. Lots of yummy toppings to choose from! I got the magic sauce to top it off. Everything tastes nice and it's a fun way to customize a Korean-inspired meal. It's a pretty large serving, could be two meals depending on how hungry you are. Also the worker purposely spelled everyone's names funny, which was pretty entertaining. read more

Chi'Lantro is consistently delicious. Whether we are ordering pick up, delivery, or dining in, we experience the same high-quality and affordable Korean food. The freshness of the ingredients for the price is truly incredible for the Austin area. This is one of our go-to spots--we frequent it at least once every two weeks. I love the Korean beef with the magic sauce, and getting half spicy pork and half beef when I can't decide which I want! My husband and I both order a fried egg with our rice bowls every time. We get the Korean fried wings and fries for the kids, and both options are absolutely delicious. I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 because of two things: 1. There are times when they don't put enough meat. I would totally order double but sometimes, there's enough, and other times, not so much. I think it varies based on employee. 2. The spicy pork is a little bit too spicy. I love spicy food--I'm an Afro-Puerto-Rican who grew up on spicy food. It's a part of who I am! That said, in my opinion, the spice overpowers the taste and skews the flavors a bit. But everyone is different! It's still good so if you want it, get half of it with another meat like I do :) We love Chi'Lantro. The food and the staff have always been a great experience. We will continue to come here regularly!!! read more

Oh my gosh, I LOOOVE Chi'Lantro. I ate here so many time last summer and came back today and it was the same great quality. What originally drew me in was the price. It's within walking distance of the Domain Northside, but is MUCH less expensive. I recommend getting the large ssam (burrito) or bowl. You can combine your base, but I love the noodles. If you like spicy, the spicy chicken is a great option, otherwise the soy glazed is good too. Get any toppings you want. And for the people that enjoy a little extra kick, put magic sauce on top. It can be loud and I sometimes have trouble understanding them when ordering, but I always end up with something that tastes delicious. Come here, you won't regret it. read more

A fun Korean-fusion spot located right next to the coffee shop Summer Moon. We stopped in for some kimchi fries to share for an afternoon snack -- I remember seeing the Shark Tank episode so was curious to try it out for myself! The food was really yummy -- if it hadn't been the afternoon, I definitely would've tried some of the build-your-own options but the fries were super tasty. There were lots of different flavors from the tofu, fries, sauce and more and it wasn't too spicy either (since sometimes kimchi can be). It's easy to dig in with a fork! There is plenty of seating in a super modern, and clean space -- would love to go back for a bowl. read more
We were out of town and were just a few doors down to grab some coffee (summer moon). We saw this a couple times on yelp so we were curious what was good. Everyone recommended the Kim chi fries. Guess what we got?? The KIMCHI fries!! LET ME TELL YOU! It was plenty for 10$. I shared it with my hubby and we were both pretty full after. With the kimchi fries, we added some ribeye beef + fried egg. If anything, I would ask them to lay low on the sauces. Go light with the sauces because the flavor of the ribeye was def where it was at. AMAZING AND TENDER Furnish was simply modern and clean! This is for the food truck catering order. So the way it works is you order ahead and they just drive the truck to a set spot and you pick it up. The food was nearly cold by the time I got it. It is neat they are doing these things for neighborhoods, and I get it can be tough to cook on the spot, but this just wasn't the same Chi`Lantro I know. It had the taste and was ok once microwaved, but in the future I will probably just DoorDash my food. read more

Fast and Friendly service. Food came out fast and hot. Kimchi Fries with Korean bbq steak - wasn't my thing. I thought it tasted ok but the steak was salty and I thought the Kimchi could of been more flavorful. Korean Fried Chicken Wings - Crispy skin and tender meat. Definitely a must try. Asked for the sauces on the side so I could dip them. I like the Gangnam sauce but didn't care for the spicy ranch. I'd prob try one of their bowls next time. read more
Wish we had something like this in our state! Such a good place and good idea! Like a chipotle but with a different spin. The burrito was amazing, only I wish they followed my request to add purple cabbage for some crunch. Their steak was very good, tender, and I love their flavor for the marinade. The fries were good too, although I would of like a little bit more of the toppings on them, as I eat some of the fries with the toppings I had a ton of fries left without any toppings left to eat them with. But overall flavor was great, great concept, cute place to get some great food without being in a sit down restaurant. read more

A Korean spin, but not like anything I've ever had. One side has seasoned ribeye over French fries top with queso and a touch of cilantro. One side has a glazed chicken and one corner kimchee. It's really good!! Looks a bit odd, but I really like it and frankly I didn't know what to order. The staff was really helpful! They have other items I'd like to try! read more

I had a great first experience at Chi'Lantro! I have been wanting to try this place since moving to Texas and it is definitely worth the hype. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft and tender the chicken was. I went with the noodles and got most of the toppings. The magic sauce is truly magical. I also tried the sesame vinaigrette on the side, this is a little more potent with a strong vinegar taste. The kim chi added a perfect tasty crunch to the bowl. I will have to return for their well-known kim chi fries. read more

In terms of fusion restaurants, Chilantro takes the cake. This place is known for their famous kimchi fries which my friends and I love to eat. Fries with a protein base, sprinkled with cheese and vegetables just mixes so well together. Staff was super nice and the tables were spread apart for covid reasons. Chi'Lantro is like a Korean Chipotle fast-casual restaurant done well! They have rice and noodle bowl options. Their noodles are clear, vermicelli noodles used in Korean dishes like japchae. Their chicken and meats are cooked well (not overdone and seasoned right). I really liked their kimchi fries! I'd recommend those, you'll be a happy camper. read more

Ordered the Signature Tofu Salad (spinach) with a side of black beans. The salad was exactly as described, with lots of flavorful tofu. The beans were perfectly cooked and delicious, with a lovely garnish. Not a speck of styrofoam, and the salad didn't even need the carrot ginger dressing. Had there been a little more spinach in my salad, 5 happy stars for sure. read more

Delicious and reasonably priced. Great portion sizes for the price. I think the best way to describe it would be Chipotle goes Korean BBQ. Whenever we are in the Domain area with the family I think Chi'Lantro will definitely be one of the top choices. read more

I pick up food from here every time I visit Austin. Got the sweet potato noodle bowl this time and loaded it with spicy chicken and most of the toppings. Huge portion sizes and plenty to share or take home for a second meal. Some of the sauces can be spicy though, especially the salsa. read more

Yum! Not sure why I haven't been here more often, well actually I've gone to their food truck years ago and go the kimchi fries, and turns out kimchi is not for me so I wrote them off for a while. My friend had me go here with him for lunch while he was in town, and I'm so happy he made me go! The food is amazing! They have Rice Bowls, Salads, Noodles, and burritos. Of course they still have the kimchi fries, I haven't given those another chance though. I always get the rice bowl or noodles, I should really try something else, but these are consistently good so I can't break the routine. I can come here every week and not get tired. The food is quality! I love the options and combinations, I never have a bad experience here. Although the items I get adds up quickly. I don't go every day because it isn't a cheap lunch! I enjoy that the line moves fairly quickly. Parking can be a bit of pain here, but I usually find parking. I wish they had more seating inside, but it's understandable. Really wish there was a drive thru option because it could become my dinner spot too! Delicious and you must try it! read more
Friends took us here while on an Austin trip. This place is very similar to Chipotle but with a Korean twist. And I love Korean food, so I was definitively down to try. But it was definitely worth the try! Wish they would open one in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We bought a spicy chicken bowl and an order of kimchi fries to split between two people and it was more than enough food. We added an egg on both orders, which was an extra charge. But the egg definitely complimented both meals. Both the spicy chicken and ribeye beef were delicious choices of protein. We also were able to try some of their wings from a friend's order. And their wings also did not fail to please. The service was quick and friendly. They had limited seating but it was dinner time so they were busy. Would definitely come back the next time we're in Austin! They have several different locations in Austin. Would definitely recommend! read more
There's something for everyone! Chilantro started off as a food truck in Austin before it expanded to restaurants. The food here is mainly Korean food - but you have the liberty to make it as you like. I'm a vegetarian and love her ng their kimchi bowl or the bowl with fries as the base. Food - I'm a fan of their bowl with fries as base. The fry the fries fresh right in front of you so could ask them to crisp them a bit more. Load up the fries, veggies and yummy Magic sauce along with some spicy sauce and you're good to go. They have great teas too - I've tried their varieties and it's refreshing compliment to the food. Service - They are quick and friendly. If you keep going to same location, chances are they'll even recognize you. The restaurant is clean and not that noisy. Right off of burner and near the Domain, try this spot when you are in the mood for healthy but still spicy lovely food. Recommended!! read more

I love the food and literally could eat here every day, but ... beware if you ordeR Online. This is twice I have received the wrong food . It's like they don't read the instructions !!!! Seriously. We paid extRa for queso and did not get any on the fries. No sauce on the rice bowl. $18 plus for a meal we didn't order. :( VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more
Came here because of all the amazing reviews I've been reading on Yelp. Sadly, I didn't get the same experience as everyone else. I had the rib eye tacos, Korean fries, wings, and a customized bowl with spicy chicken. The rib eye was SUPER salty. It was extremely overpowering that my eye was twitching when I bite into the taco. All I ate was the corn and grilled Kim chi that was on the taco because I came hungry expecting to eat something amazing The fries were cooked perfectly but the topping was alright. It had rib eye on top of it so I didn't enjoy it. The rice bowl mediocre. When I think Korean food, I think of rice in a super hot bowl and the rice here was cold rice so the experience was too relatable to a chipotle bowl but cost more. The wings was the better part of the meal. You can find better Korean fried chicken else where but of all that we ordered, this is at least edible. Gave it a two star because it was wasn't a horrible experience, just not a place I would go back to but at least I can say I experience it. read more
I love the customizable this place is! My go to items are the noodle or rice bowl with spicy chicken or soy glazed chicken. The employees are super nice and let you sample anything before you put it into your bowl. The Magic sauce and the noodles are the items that keep me coming back! I used to always eat at chi'lantro (their other locations) bc my coworkers love it. It's super unique and one of the best korean fusion restaurants in austin. I've had their rice bowl at this burnet location a couple months ago and it was fine.... but today's chi'lantro experience completely shuttered my chi'lantro dreams.... and stomach. My friends and I wanted to pick up dinner before the fireworks and so chi'lantro happened to be a good choice bc everybody loves chi'lantro! So I picked up the food and brought it home. After each bite, I found hard brown rice (kind of like nurungji which is hard dry rice in Korean). I mixed it up again and tried 4 or 5 more bites bc maybe it wasn't mixed enough but I would still find the hard rice in my mouth. I ended up just throwing it away bc it wasn't worth getting brown rice rocks stuck in my teeth. No thanks. My first star goes out to their kimchi fries bc it is and will always be bombbbbb. Second star goes out to the pickled carrots/cucumber bc those were really yummy ^^b read more

Can a adult order from the kids menu? we are on a budget and that is affordable for us is the kids bowl
You can order from the kids menu online (with no proof that you have kids). Their order service is pretty good and you can pick it up in store.
Do they have a kids menu? And if so how much before tax?
As far I know, they have kids menu at the domain location, I think it's around $5, not sure though.
