We get the Korean fried wings and fries for the kids, and both options are absolutely delicious. I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 because of two things: 1. There are times when they don't put enough meat. I would totally order double but sometimes, there's enough, and other times, not so much. I think it varies based on employee. 2. The spicy pork is a little bit too spicy. I love spicy food--I'm an Afro-Puerto-Rican who grew up on spicy food. It's a part of who I am! Oh my gosh, I LOOOVE Chi'Lantro. I ate here so many time last summer and came back today and it was the same great quality. What originally drew me in was the price. It's within walking distance of the Domain Northside, but is MUCH less expensive. I recommend getting the large ssam (burrito) or bowl. You can combine your base, but I love the noodles. If you like spicy, the spicy chicken is a great option, otherwise the soy glazed is good too. Get any toppings you want. And for the people that enjoy a little extra kick, put magic sauce on top. It can be loud and I sometimes have trouble understanding them when ordering, but I always end up with something that tastes delicious. Come here, you won't regret it. read more

As an old haunt from my uni days, it was cool to see Chi'Lantro grow and expand into physical retail stores. But somewhere between then and now, a lot of the magic disappeared and what's left are memories, kim chi fries and a strange build your own Korean fusion bowlrito lineup. The problem being, it's not entirely sure how Korean, how Mexican and how fusion it wants to be and it's very easy to make something that isn't enjoyable, unlike other build your own bowlrito joints (a la Chipotle, Freebirds, etc.) Maybe the trick is to stick to what's premade, what's already been predetermined to be a good mixup of the ingredients laid in front of you, but I miss the days where you could order any taco, any burrito and you knew it was going to be a good time. I'll be back when I need my fix of their kim chi fries, a staple that I'm glad has stuck around since its humble beginnings, but otherwise Chi'Lantro will be another reminder to cherish the things you enjoy in the moment, and savor those new experiences before they change beyond your recognition. read more

Last week wanted to eat kimchi, as it was long day, my husband wanted to go to this location as it's close by but I didn't want to, so he told we l just go inside n if we see same people/Person behind the counter, we l go to other burnet location. but to my surprise almost all were new faces so we thought of giving a try and made a right decision. People now are all good, they listen to you, greet you and food was amazing, I don't know the name but there is one big fella who was pleasant, smiling, welcoming and felt like he was loving to do his job. This is for the food truck catering order. So the way it works is you order ahead and they just drive the truck to a set spot and you pick it up. The food was nearly cold by the time I got it. It is neat they are doing these things for neighborhoods, and I get it can be tough to cook on the spot, but this just wasn't the same Chi`Lantro I know. Then, was delighted to see them featured on Shark Tank and kept on eating there and rooting for their success while also returning to the Parmer and McNeil location. Now? Will not return. Had a $29 Door Dash delivery (on time and before tip) to receive a skimpy bowl with barely any food, missing chips, and cold thickened queso. I have seen this place around and decided to stop in on my lunch one afternoon. I got the Steak Bowl with Jasmine rice. Not amazing but very much not bad. Quick hot and tasty. The tea was not to my liking as it was not just normal tea and I do not like flavors in my Unsweet Iced tea. But that is my personal preference so I will not fault them on that. The following review and three stars reflect the tofu ONLY - the staff is always 5 stars, the restaurant is great and clean, and the food concept is great and easy to accommodate a variety of tastes. The tofu used to be small, crispy, and juicy and even my friends who ate meat would pick the tofu because of how great it was! Over the past few months, the location that we visit (Austin Domain) started making the tofu REALLY big, and now it tastes watery. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft and tender the chicken was. I went with the noodles and got most of the toppings. The magic sauce is truly magical. Yum! Not sure why I haven't been here more often, well actually I've gone to their food truck years ago and go the kimchi fries, and turns out kimchi is not for me so I wrote them off for a while. My friend had me go here with him for lunch while he was in town, and I'm so happy he made me go! The food is amazing! They have Rice Bowls, Salads, Noodles, and burritos. Of course they still have the kimchi fries, I haven't given those another chance though. I always get the rice bowl or noodles, I should really try something else, but these are consistently good so I can't break the routine. I can come here every week and not get tired. The food is quality! I love the options and combinations, I never have a bad experience here. Although the items I get adds up quickly. I don't go every day because it isn't a cheap lunch! I enjoy that the line moves fairly quickly. Parking can be a bit of pain here, but I usually find parking. I wish they had more seating inside, but it's understandable. Service - They are quick and friendly. If you keep going to same location, chances are they'll even recognize you. The restaurant is clean and not that noisy. Came here because of all the amazing reviews I've been reading on Yelp. Sadly, I didn't get the same experience as everyone else. I had the rib eye tacos, Korean fries, wings, and a customized bowl with spicy chicken. The rib eye was SUPER salty. It was extremely overpowering that my eye was twitching when I bite into the taco. All I ate was the corn and grilled Kim chi that was on the taco because I came hungry expecting to eat something amazing The fries were cooked perfectly but the topping was alright. It had rib eye on top of it so I didn't enjoy it. The rice bowl mediocre. When I think Korean food, I think of rice in a super hot bowl and the rice here was cold rice so the experience was too relatable to a chipotle bowl but cost more. The wings was the better part of the meal. You can find better Korean fried chicken else where but of all that we ordered, this is at least edible. My friends and I wanted to pick up dinner before the fireworks and so chi'lantro happened to be a good choice bc everybody loves chi'lantro! So I picked up the food and brought it home. After each bite, I found hard brown rice (kind of like nurungji which is hard dry rice in Korean). I mixed it up again and tried 4 or 5 more bites bc maybe it wasn't mixed enough but I would still find the hard rice in my mouth. I ended up just throwing it away bc it wasn't worth getting brown rice rocks stuck in my teeth. No thanks. My first star goes out to their kimchi fries bc it is and will always be bombbbbb.
