    Steak Patacón
    Lina Michelle V.

Chifles, I had you bookmarked for a while and I was super excited to try this place and I guess I'm content with my experience. I know it's sounds confusing but I just don't know how I feel about this place. I guess I'll break it down: Location: I guess this is my least favorite part, right on Roosevelt Ave and 95th Street, parking is a pain and this area just gives me anxiety Food: We ordered happy hours drinks for $5, my sister got a passion fruit mojito which was AMAZING but my passion fruit margarita was not good at all, in fact I took one sip and just left it there. For meals I have the patacón which is made with plantain, sautéed steak, avocado and and sweet plantains! This was the highlight of our meal. We also ordered the skirt steak with rice and beans and it comes with a salad. The steak was cooked to perfection but was a little too salty for me. The rice and beans arrived cold at the table. We also ordered a side of sweet plantain with cheese, this was good. Service: the service was weird, we first had a guy server then a woman took out order, then she disappeared and the guy took over again. Service was: confusing Ambiance: it's just a weird place, not sure if it's a bakery, or dinner or restaurant, I just couldn't figure it out and I wanted to Overall, I'll def come back for the patacón and a passion fruit mojito if I happen to be in The area. Our bill was $58 which included a 15 percent Trip! We added a little extra to make it 20 percent though!

Great customer service, got the Peruvian ceviche and avocado salad. To drink I got the mango margarita. For the price I wanted more motet in the ceviche or more choclo. The drink was strong and refreshing. The avocado salad was filling as well, great portions. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Outdoor and indoor dining options.

First time eating there. Friendly staff. Clean environment. Excellent service. Food is amazing and price is reasonable.

    Pechuga Empanizada Tripa Mishky

Seafood Soup- presentation was great. Generous with the seafood. However soup was a little bland. Fried seafood platter- (forgot the actual name on the menu). Portion was great and the sauce I believe tartar sauce made everything taste better. The platter included mussels, shrimps, calamari, yuca and red onions. Wished it was fried more crispy, when it arrived it seemed like it was sitting out for a bit. Also got the Michelada and kiwi cocktail. Definitely taste the tequila in the cocktail but I wouldn't personally get the Michelada again- quite spicy. Overall great music and the sweet bread smell (they have a bakery in there as well) captivated me but I probably won't return.

This place is located on a very busy corner which means parking can be challenging. From the outside, you would think it's a big place, but it's relatively small once you go inside. Service was amazing. You get greeted the minute you walk in, and are asked where do you prefer to sit. The food orders are taken by what it seems like small iPads, so swapping or exchanging one item for another can become difficult. Here's what I mean: there's a dish on the menu listed as quarter chicken with chaufa. My bf wanted this dish, but with half of chicken. Waitress advised she couldn't change because it wasn't listed. We had to order a quarter of chicken as a separate order instead. They have a colorful picture menu which makes it easier to pick or decide what to eat. Their drinks selection is not as big, but you can select from margaritas, sangrias and mojitos. This place has about five big screen TVs, for those sport fans. The food didn't take long to arrive, and temp was on point. They served chiflez(thinly sliced fried green plantains) with some salsa, on the house. We ordered as appetizer, camarones(shrimps) with guacamole served inside green plantains hand made cup shape. These were good, but the guac could've used some salt. The main courses were: the quarter chicken with chaufa and mine was trucha with rice, salad and more chiflez. As I mentioned before, the temp, taste and portions were all good. If you are really hungry, the portion may be on the small side. I appreciated that I wasn't rushed after I finished my meal. In fact, I had to ask for the bill. They have a coffee section, including a cappuccino maker, but I didn't try it. They have two bathrooms, one for men and the other for female. Overall, good ambiance, food and service can only mean one thing, I'm coming back.

    Enjoying my delicious drink!

Definitely one of the most authentic Latin American restaurants in Jackson Heights for not just one type of cuisine but a few: Venezuelan, Colombian, Peruvian and maybe I'm missing one or two but hey it's so damn good here. I think if I spoke better Spanish my experience could be even better haha. I'm happy the menu has pictures lol even though there are descriptions yet I still have no idea what they are. I always come here with my boyfriend who is also Peruvian and he loved the food as well. Usually we order too much and can't finish because we get too excited lol. They have strong drinks with a cheap happy hour, and when I say cheap I mean cheap! Not Manhattan cheap, Queens cheap, which kicks ass and it's bang for your buck. If you're in Manhattan it's worth the trip to hop on the 7 train to go there. It's less than 3mins walk from the train. Oh yea, back to the drinks- delicious, crafty, some served in mason jars with fun flavors like tamarind, pomegranate and your classics. It's kid friendly as well, so don't worry about that. There are a few TVs usually playing sports games in the background. The service is prompt, friendly and bilingual!

    Passion fruit frozen slushie margarita

Came here for the first time last Wednesday and we loved it and tonight we came back for the happy hour that we missed last time. Highly Recommend: *Passion fruit frozen slushie margarita (Happy Hour ends at 7pm) *Seco de chivo (goat stew, and it's better than the food trucks nearby) *The tostones with guacamole *#2 fries with different sausages We had Viviana both times, tho she struggles to communicate in English with us, but she really tries ...Like no joke, genuine efforts to make it work, body sign language and all, instead of pawning us off on someone else; we loved her for that, she has a great friendly personality too!

The entrance of the restaurant is a bit confusing as the awning has a share name of BAKERY then the restaurant's name. The guy host seated us at a booth and he's the only one that spoke English as the servers spoke in Espanol. Good thing all that Spanish classes came in handy to put in our orders and communicate with the servers =) Drinks: Andrea G: Ginger Ale Me: Pasion de Mango Jugo (mine)...very yummy and fulfilling Sharing: Empanada con queso...definitely need to be stuffed with more cheese Entree: Andrea G: Filete...Frito style con arroz, ensalada, y tostones - very fulfilling Me: 1/2 Pollo a la Brasa con arroz, papa frita, maduros, y huevo frito - holy moly everything but the rice tasted so delicious along with the 3 dipping sauces. I love mixing the green and the pink together mmmmm Definitely a very delicious Latin American spot =)

There are plenty of seats but during the weekends they fill up quickly. I would just recommend coming in earlier. Really enjoyed their strawberry matcha latte and banana latte. The matcha had a strong creamy flavor that complimented the strawberry flavor very well. Judging from the color, it was definitely a decent quality matcha. The hot banana latte was not too sweet and really impressed me with the taste. It wasn't artificial and was very comforting on a colder day. I also tried the oolong tea cheesecake. The texture was moist and the perfect density for a cheesecake. While the tea flavor was light, I would get it again. Excited to try out their other drinks, they also have a selection of desserts like the tiramisu that will sell out quickly.

During the weekday is a great space to work. The wait is minimal and I received my order quickly. The latte was excellent! The espresso was smooth and therefore paired well with black sesame. The sandwich was good but nothing special. Great cafe but more savory selection.

Best of all, their specialty coffee and tea are surprisingly affordable--most drinks are only around $5 to $7, which is a steal compared to many boba and tea shops. The space is spacious, comfy, and beautifully decorated, with free Wi-Fi and clean bathrooms. Their playlist is very nostalgic, playing songs by Jay Chou, Khalil Fong, and Fiona Sit. Perfect for working, grabbing a coffee, and picking up flowers all in one stop. *Golden Osmanthus Jasmine $6.5 I love light, floral teas, and this one was perfect. It is a blend of jasmine tea and osmanthus topped with cream foam. Delicate, refreshing, and not too sweet. *Black Sesame Latte $6 The black sesame cream foam was so nutty that I literally scooped it up with a spoon. The flavor turned mild once mixed with the espresso and milk though. *Matcha White Chocolate $7 A Christmas special! I was so excited to see they serve "matcha donut latte" which is quite popular last year. The vibrant green matcha latte is topped with a ring of whipped cream and funfetti. A very warm and cozy drink. *Warm Tofu Pudding $6 This tofu pudding comes with either ginger or osmanthus syrup. I added lychee jelly, mixed fruit jelly, and red bean. Warm, cozy, and especially comforting on a cold day.
