Jambalaya and cornbread

Wonderful place! We were liking the idea of breakfast served all day, but we decided to give lunch a try instead.. I had the avocado BLT and it was delicious! My husband had the jambalaya with cornbread. After 2 or 3 spoonfuls, he said he felt the heat and spice! I'd definitely would come back ..

I've been coming here for years, and I've never had a bad experience. From sandwiches to Mac n cheese to flatbreads-it's all delicious. It's a fun cafe-great decor, fun events, and always friendly staff. This morning I went in for breakfast, which I don't think I've done before. Look at the size of this ham, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich! I was pleasantly surprised. Added a mocha-theirs are the best- and I'm ready for my day. Oh! Don't forget the beignet! (See what I did there)

Chicory Cafe serves up traditional cafe bites with a southern cajun twist. I got the Mardi Gras mac and cheese and really its flavors. I would recommend! I visited earlier this week so it was just in time to enjoy their fall specialty drinks. I got the pumpkin chai and OMG it was as I drank a pumpkin pie. Delish! I would suggest going for the options that lean more on the cajun side because it seemed like their traditional options were lackluster, especially considering the price points. Service was great, very friendly staff. The only thing that fell short were the beignets. They were very doughy and not sweet. It just tasted wrong. I was pretty disappointed in this because it sounded so perfect for the vibe the cafe is going for.

We had a lovely breakfast. The food was all scrumptious. The specialty coffees hit the spot, and there was cool artsy vibe.

I've come here a few times only to find that they have closed early for some random reason. There's only been about 2 successful trips with customer service lacking both times. My orders were also incorrect to some degree both times as well. Sometimes it was a case of not leaving room for creamer or giving me the incorrect drink. The food however was good, but not on the same level as the other location in southbend. I'm not sure why this is, so I've tried to give them multiple chances, but it's worth the price. I would recommend going to another location if you would like the full experience of Chicory Cafe. As a side note I would like to note the mask sign is still on the door, but the staff does not wear mask nor is it enforced.

Food is fabulous. Highly recommend the roasted vegetable Mac and cheese! Service is not speedy, but the food is worth the wait. Staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely place to gather with friends or for coffee/lunch alone. Plenty of seating. Pic shows the large serving size. The empty spot is what I've eaten so fat. Large serving! Check out FB PAGE for special events. Going back Mar 1 for Pot Roast Special

Came here with friends who live in the area for lunch. You're welcomed with a colorful mural on the outside wall; almost giving it a New Orlean style feel. Inside is very warm and inviting. Lots of menu boards with beer/drink specials. I decided to go for the Seafood Gumbo and wasn't disappointed. Exactly how I like it. Has a nice kick of spice to it and the side of cornbread that comes with the order was the perfect compliment to it. Flavors on point. Was very satisfied with it. Highly recommend this place if looking for a nice meal at an affordable price.

We went with a party of 5 and there is only one table that fit us but luckily it was open. I would suggest going early because they sell out fast. It was very busy when we went but it was worth it. I really liked the Ube cookie and the sandwich I got. They warmed the sandwich but not the cookie (I also didn't ask them to). The Ube cookie had coconut in it and I'm not a coconut lover but it was subtle enough that I like it!! Coffee was great too!

Located next to Brasserie 23 and some nice apartments, the exterior of this café immediately gave off European café vibes. Inside, we were greeted by the staff and looked at the menu for a bit before ordering. About 5 minutes after ordering, we received our drinks and food from a few kind, fast, and professional baristas. There is free wifi and the two unisex bathrooms are clean. There is also a lot of places to sit and we saw a few students working on homework while sipping on their matcha lattes. The prices for everything is overall decent but still a little high. Bakery goods are priced well while the drinks are maybe a dollar too expensive. They only use locally sourced whole milk in their drinks as well, just an FYI. All around the cafe are various things for sale, like local coffee beans, glass jars of that whole milk, and yummy loaves of sourdough and foccacia bread. I am from out of town so I didn't buy any bread or milk but I wish I could have! As for the food, everything was indulgent and delicious! We ordered a lot. I got a cinnamon churro latte with GORGEOUS sky design art. The taste was pretty basic - Like a cinnamon hot chocolate. Very milk forward. My bf got a chai latte. This had strong flavor. I should get a different drink next time as I only like to pay $7 for drinks that are unique! My bad! So after we each had an indulgent caffeine drink, we then had a breakfast sandwich. I got the turkey/bacon and my bf got the sausage one. Bacon was good and slightly fatty and the bun/brioche bread was really poofy! After an hour or so of conversation with my bf's family and friends, we then shared an almond fragipange cookie (thiccc and moist) and a blueberry coffee cake slice. Both were great! We had the coffee cake at his home and enjoyed the cookie at the cafe. The cookie was just like the cookies from the famous Levain cookie chain. These are the kind of cookies you can only have infrequently because they are so high calories, but boy, they are delish! I already followed Caffe Capriccio on Instagram so I can keep track of limited time drinks and desserts! I'll be moving to this area next year to be with my boyfriend and am happy to say that we will definitely be back!

I don't view this as an actual coffee shop but more of a quick service establishment. The pastry proportions sometimes disappoint me because they are more expensive than they should. I got their unsweetened matcha once and was terribly disappointed. I honestly couldn't taste the matcha. I think that ABP in Hesburgh library serves better coffee, and it's worth the short walk over there.

The smoothies are pretty good. I think I've had the Orange Sunrise and the Bangin' Berry. I'll probably try more, but of those two, the Orange Sunrise is better, hands down. I've never had breakfast here, but they do offer Quorn substitutes for anything that comes with chicken, so there are plenty of vegetarian options for a place with such a limited menu to start with. It's located in the Duncan Student Center, which is the building they attached to the west side of the football stadium. The cafe is near the north entrance. There's lots of seating, but some of the stools are annoying tall ones, which seem to be all the rage these days, even though they're uncomfortable. The good thing about the tall stools is that they have these special metal baskets at the bottom so that you have somewhere to put all your junk while you're eating. I can see this coming in handy when the weather's bad, which it often is in South Bend; you don't have to sit against your wet and/or cold coat.
