For the sake of nostalgia, I am giving four stars. But let me tell you the times have changed here…read moreand the quality sadly has gone down. But the bartenders and the staff were very nice and helpful. Came in on a Friday night and had some drinks with some friends was sad to see the specialty shots were all premade and not that great. The next day we came back for a late lunch only to discover it was prom night and super busy. Something has changed to the wings and they taste different than they used to. But they were OK. The garlic fries just had a glob of garlic on top, they were not tossed around in the garlic. That was disappointing too. A friend of ours ordered a burger with a turkey patty and it took forever to get from the kitchen. It took so long they gave us a complementary coupon for a meal in the future. When I asked why it took so long, they said all the turkey patties were frozen and it was taking too long to thaw out. I'm glad it wasn't my burger because I would've hated to know that I just ate a frozen patty. It makes me question the quality of the rest of their burgers at this point. If you have never been here, it is a must see experience. The place is huge and every room has hidden surprises. This is still a Chico staple and I will always come back when I visit.

Restaurant is open after midnight everyday. Lots of college students in the outdoor bar dining late after midnight. Music was on fire and energetic. Adjacent to CSU Chico and downtown. Madison Bear Garden reminds me of the singer Madison Beer; made a song "Make you mine" tribute to Megan Fox Jennifer's Body.

If you're rolling through Chico and looking for a place that actually lives up to the name, Burgers…read more& Brew doesn't just talk a good game... it delivers for us! From the moment you walk up, it's got that classic brick and wood feel that says you're about to eat well. Step inside and you're greeted by a wall of taps that feels like a beer lover's playground. The place hums... great music, good energy, and a staff that's clearly in rhythm with it all. We didn't mess around with the order. My daughter went with the blue cheese burger special, her boyfriend took on the bacon jalapeño burger, and I went straight for the pastrami burger. Every one of them came out looking like a culinary masterpiece. The blue cheese had that perfect balance... bold but not overpowering as they are want to be. Her boyfriend said the bacon jalapeño brought just enough heat to keep things interesting without stealing the show, probably too weak for me ;). My pastrami burger was a heavyweight... stacked, savory, and the kind of messy you don't even try to clean up until you're done. Think Katz deli melding with a west coast hip scene burger. Now let's talk onion rings... because these deserve it. Golden, crispy, and just the right crunch when you bite in. Not greasy, not soggy, just dialed in exactly how they should be. Add the garlic sauce and now you're playing a different game altogether. That sauce is not optional, it's essential and fabulous on everything. The beer selection is deep, the kind where you stand there for a minute pretending you're making a thoughtful decision when really you just want to try everything. Service was on point from start to finish. No waiting around, no chasing anyone down... just attentive, easy, and done right. Only downside, and it's not really their fault, is parking. Downtown Chico can make you work a little for it. But once you're inside, with a cold beer in hand and a burger staring you down, you won't care how far you walked. I will be back, it is well worth the money.

I'm local. I hadn't been there for probably a year. The five star reviews seem to be from OOT…read moreparents dropping their kids off at Chico State, people who wouldn't notice if a penguin took a dump in their French fries, because they're understandably absorbed in their fleeing children's every word and deed on an emotional weekend. Burgers are "meh", and my only reason for going back is that they have an ok lamb burger, which I haven't otherwise found north of Sacramento (where there are much better lamb burgers). The place is absolutely filthy. Greasy fingerprints on every surface that could possibly display them. Spill residue and trash everywhere. There's absolutely no way that my wife would eat here. She hasn't been there in years, and now would turn around and leave as soon as she saw the place. Looking around while eating, I couldn't finish my meal, and I left. And I'm pretty easy. I like dives, but not filth. I don't think that this is meant to be a dive, AND it's progressively become a s******e. And, all the while, the "manager", who didn't appear to "manage" anything, except for conversation and passing out free beer samples to his buddies at the bar (one of whom was clearly, from their banter, a fired former employee), did nothing else but gossip and bitch about higher management, while the employees also had multiple free beer samples, and stood around and chatted with each other. While the environment grew even more disgusting. Shouldn't these people be trying to at least keep the the place presentable, if not really clean? Isn't this a regional chain? I'm sure that no one from Sacramento has been here recently. I don't like to see a business fail, but this one deserves to.

Let me start with the area where this taco is located? 2819 Esplanade, just North of Eaton Road, set off to the right hand side of Esplanade this side of DeGarmo Park. In a gated area, gravel and dirt, with plenty of parking. The place is brand new and has the appearance of cleanliness and quality presentation choices. I'm doing details so you can't miss the place. So after five times choosing to eat their food, I finally thought to help promote Tacos El Lider by writing a review. Why, because the taste is unique with taste and preparation. Not overbearing and balanced for your choices to add peppers or sauces to preference. I'm a believer in clean preparation and great taste. Hispanic/Latino foods are specific to where the management learned their craft. Really, don't you like original tasting food where everything considered is for the customer's delight? Yes!!! Because Tacos El Lider is new, it is still sharp and crisp looking which is a sign for quality presentation! Are you hungry and curious to find out for yourself? Your ability to go out, get in your car, head in the right direction, and check out the layout. Nice trailertruck, medium aggregate under sturdy chairs and tables with a sun roof to protect you from the sun. I'll shoot some pictures to show the colors are fresh and most recent. GPS the location as it is on the map going North on Esplanade. Just past Tonea Way and D&E Auto Repair, right before DeGarmo Park.On your GPS for sure. I thought only Hector and Jackie worked their, but most recently was served by an alternate couple of very nice people who served me a very nice burrito. Probably Hector's parents, I'm not sure?!? Hey, see how clean and presentable the settings are, turn your car in a comfortable spot, park, get out to check out the surroundings. It's a little off set, but very doable. I want the taste and quality for my money and I got what I paid for!?! Come give it a try? What do you have to lose? Next visit will be the seventh time because I didn't get my business card last stop, the people working were very nice but I forgot to get my "10 purchases and I get something", a good promotion for Tacos El Lider. They are new, clean, friendly, plenty of parking and they just need you to take a leap of faith? Your taste buds will tell the story! Afterall, I'm a return customer. I do Yelp reviews as I have done in the past. Only after testing the food for all concerns? Easy access, pleanty of parking, nice solid seating, with a sunroof, menus, a personal beeper when your order is up, easy service with a smile. You'll be back because going to offbeat food services are sometimes the best? Make up your own mind? GPS , Tacos El Lider and follow your prompters or the address, whichever is comfortable for you. You count most of all, so go treat yourself to my neighborhood's newest members for quality foods

But step inside and you'll find an impressive variety of wraps, smoothies, juices, tacos, superfoods, warm dishes, pastries, espresso drinks and plenty of vegan options. Last winter, their chicken tortilla soup was outstanding--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. On my most recent visit (02/21/2026), I ordered a grilled chicken wrap loaded with alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, olives, hummus, corn, and cayenne pepper. It was genuinely delicious--a word I don't use lightly for food in Chico. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable. I also tried the "Monkey Power" smoothie with hemp seeds, white chocolate powder, peanut butter, and banana--wow, it was amazing.
