I live right down the way from Tacos El Lider. As I come to find out,taco trucks serve equal or better food than businesses built in freestanding buildings.So I've ate at this taco truck 5 times to get a read on the consistency of the food and services. Let me start with the area where this taco is located? 2819 Esplanade, just North of Eaton Road, set off to the right hand side of Esplanade this side of DeGarmo Park. In a gated area, gravel and dirt, with plenty of parking. The place is brand new and has the appearance of cleanliness and quality presentation choices. I'm doing details so you can't miss the place. So after five times choosing to eat their food, I finally thought to help promote Tacos El Lider by writing a review. Why, because the taste is unique with taste and preparation. Not overbearing and balanced for your choices to add peppers or sauces to preference. I'm a believer in clean preparation and great taste. Hispanic/Latino foods are specific to where the management learned their craft. Really, don't you like original tasting food where everything considered is for the customer's delight? Yes!!! Because Tacos El Lider is new, it is still sharp and crisp looking which is a sign for quality presentation! Are you hungry and curious to find out for yourself? Your ability to go out, get in your car, head in the right direction,and check out the layout. I thought only Hector and Jackie worked their, but most recently was served by an alternate couple of very nice people who served me a very nice burrito. Probably Hector's parents, I'm not sure?!? Hey, see how clean and presentable the settings are, turn your car in a comfortable spot, park, get out to check out the surroundings. It's a little off set, but very doable. I want the taste and quality for my money and I got what I paid for!?! Come give it a try? What do you have to lose? Next visit will be the seventh time because I didn't get my business card last stop, the people working were very nice but I forgot to get my "10 purchases and I get something", a good promotion for Tacos El Lider. They are new, clean, friendly, plenty of parking and they just need you to take a leap of faith? Your taste buds will tell the story! Afterall, I'm a return customer. I've given this wagon 3 times thinking it was just a normal mistake. My issue is they were not busy I specified what I wanted "NO ONIONS". I paid extra for maybe 6 tiny little chopped up tomatoes. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it had no sauce. It was suppose to come with sour cream it did not. The only part that seemed OK was the tortilla. It was crispy which I like, still couldn't eat my dinner tonight because it was gross no cheese no sour cream no hot sauce. I paid over $13.00 for an inedible burrito. My go-to taco truck. Their birria brought me to them because other places only have birria on certain days but they have it every day they are open. Their Jamaica agua Fresca is also my absolute fave of all I've tried so far. I hate that they are closed Sundays because I want to bring all my out-of-town guests here. Their quesabirria tacos are what I come to get when my days are gloomy to bring a bit of sunshine to my life (that sounds dramatic but no, they really are my comfort food). They are always perfectly made. Hot, crispy but gooey and juicy, dipped in the consommé and just dripping with delicious flavors. With the freshness and flavors of the cilantro, onions, and lime. OH! Heavenly. And MESSY. Bring or ask for plenty of napkins because they don't automatically give you enough. I've gotten their quesabirria ramen as well. I ordered from here on Thursday night via DoorDash. I chose the QuesaBurrito & 4 Asada Tacos w/ Drink. Honestly the pictures they had looked mouth watering but what I received was bland and just didn't really pack any flavor. Ordered a burrito bowl; Carne Asada, add shrimp add avocado both for extra charge . Not a big deal I paid extra for shrimp and avocado. What is a big deal is that the shrimp was maybe 2 shrimp cut into very small pieces and the avocado was spoiled/ brown, was supposed to come with sour cream, It did not have any. Asked for extra salsa was told they would have to charge. Also ordered a Carne Asada shrimp burrito. Husband said it was so salty and greasy !!! First and last time we will be there. read more

Edible but definitely not good. This is the third time I bought from here and got the same results. I usually give places 3 tries incase I catch them on a bad day but this place never fails to disappoint. First time I order a torta and a burrito, by the time I got home(which is a 6min drive) the meat was already cold. Not lukewarm, COLD. Ordered two tortas the second time: cold meat, hard bread. The third time I ordered a torta and quesabirria tacos. The bread on the torta was hard and the meat was cold (again). I think they reheat old meat (unsuccessfully) and use old bread. The tacos weren't much better. The meat was tough (probably from reheating it so much) and didn't have much flavor. Never eating here again, wouldn't recommend anyone else to eat here either. read more

I was recently there and ordered a birra plate, it was my mistake and thought it was birra tacos. I asked if he could make them into tacos but he refused. I'm never coming back here again. I literally got food poisoning here. I've never been here either and i'm so sick right now.

I ordered their valentines special in person a week before Valentines day. The guy Rudy took my order and said he would send out a text on when to come pick up our order. Never received a text. Never mentioned the deal was for the 13th and that they are closed on Sunday. I Messaged on Facebook today and they replied saying all their details was on Facebook and instagram as if I should have known. They also said the phone number was for call in orders, which makes no sense because Rudy took my phone number when i placed my order. They were simply unhelpful and wont even reply back after i explained my situation. It is not unreasonable for someone like me to assume the deal is for the day of Valentines day if the promotion says to place your orders by the 13th AND if Rudy says they will be texting customers. And why would I lie about that? A man gave me his word, i gave him my number and even waited for him to confirm my venmo payment. If you simply walk up to the food truck, their valentines promotion only says "place orders before the 13th". It never stated what specific date or what time to come pick up.  Their reply saying "it was all over our Facebook and instagram." Is pretty weak considering i only found out about them by driving by. Like i said. I like their food, but this is a poor way to handle customer relations. If their only response is that it was all over social media, please explain to me how that is relevant when you are a physical establishment and not a delivery service. My problem lies with the crappy response. Basically saying I'm shit out of luck. And towards a customer who actually likes their food.. just a weird thing to see. As for their food, its good. Food was really good. Lots of flavor for the Birria tacos, however my son's quesadilla was lacking in flavor and quality, my husband burrito was nearly all tortilla. He said the flavor was great. Was craving a good burrito for lunch and thankfully came across this great Taco Truck around the corner from my mother in laws's place. Really nice set up at 32 and East ave with a shaded area and tables. The menu was pretty big, but was sad that they didn't have carnitas as a burrito meat option. We ordered two burritos, one supreme and one regular. I ordered a supreme burrito with adobada and my wife got a regular burrito with asada. Both burritos were very good, but there was noticeably less meat in the supreme burrito despite being more expensive. I understand that room has to be made for the cheese, lettuce and sour cream, but it was strange that there was less meat than the regular burrito. Both burritos had great flavor though, the asada and adobada were delicious and were fresh tasting. Good size burritos and good prices. I'll definitely come back. read more

Their food was pretty good. They had a deal going on where there were 95 cent tacos - buy 5 get 1 free 32 oz drink. We bought 15 which you would think would mean 3 free drinks - we even asked to do multiple transactions so we could still get the deal and they would still make money but they refused. Not a big deal just wanted to make people aware. We went back after checking our food in the car to explain one part of it was wrong and it started to become a really bad experience. Just tried the chicken supreme burrito with spicy salsa and was blown away by how delicious it was. the flavor was unique to any other burrito I have tried in chico. I also tried the adobada burrito with mild salsa last week; and that was good too, but It did not 'wow' me as much as the chicken burrito. I also got 2 chicken tacos for my dad and he said "They hit the spot". Another thing I would like to mention is that when I asked for lime and peppers; the peppers were roasted and I think that is awesome!
