Rivards Earthworks - Access Road

Rivards Earthworks

(15 reviews)

I rarely write reviews, even though I should, and I am quicker to write bad reviews than I am to…read morewrite good ones (I'm lazy and I procrastinate). But I promised myself that I would definitely write one for Mark and Rivard's Earthworks. he truly deserves a five-star rating. I am actually disappointed that I will not be able to work with Mark again (I do not foresee another large demolition project in my future). I was more than happy with the experience and I was 100% satisfied with Mark's work. I highly recommend him and his work and I would call him again if I ever had a need for his services. Mark was the BEST contractor I have ever worked with. From start to finish, Mark was professional, friendly, and helpful. We decided to abandon our 30,000 gallon pool and due to the size of the job, we expected this job to be a difficult process filled with headaches. Despite the size and complexity, this job was, literally, the easiest I have had done in 17 years. I hired Mark primarily because of the reviews that stated his handling of city building permits and inspections. I have dealt with several contractors, including a few of the larger and popular companies in our area who promised to obtain permits and never did. Mark lived up to the reputation, obtaining permits before starting work and attending both city inspections...without having any issues or problems. I would have been happy with just knowing the work had been done to code, but Mark's attitude and work ethic blew me away! Mark arrived everyday by 8:00 AM and put in a solid 9+ hours on site. A few issues came up during the work but, unlike most contractors I've dealt with, Mark's attitude was always, "No problem. I can take care of that." We own an "odd-shaped" property lot with some access areas barely over 7'. Mark was a real master operating his equipment during setup and the job process. It is obvious he has been doing this for many years when you see his ability at maneuvering large equipment. I was shocked on the first day when Mark arrived by himself...no crew. Aside from his son coming out the last day to help with cleanup, Mark performed the ENTIRE job by himself. I have to say that it was nice not having a 5-6 member crew walking back and forth across my property for an entire week but, considering how well the job was done, I would have tolerated it. Mark talked to me throughout out the job to find out what my plans were after the job was done. In doing so, he saved us a couple thousand dollars. Mark brought over fill dirt from a previous job, which saved us in hauling and backfill costs. And, since we were not putting in grass, we didn't need special top soil for growing. The topper of it all was that the final price was QUITE a bit less than the original estimate. The whole process was a breeze and the Mark was the main reason it was so easy.

Mark was absolutely awesome to work with! My wife and I are landscaping our front yard and needed…read moresome leveling/grading done prior to laying sod. Mark absolutely delivered. Responded quickly, came out and took a look, very very thorough and knowledgeable..was able to knock it out it in a day. Can't say enough great things about him and his work, plus he's a super cool guy. Would highly recommend Mark/Rivards Earthworks. Will definitely be using him for future projects. 5 star

Just wanted to Thank Cronic Disasters for their excellent service…read more I had a rat eat thru my dishwasher and ran it, not realizing I had a problem, it flooded the entire kitchen. Requiring a full demolition and remodel. I called Cronic and they came out and made a plan, The next day they sent Adam Rosetta out to make it happen. Adam was so professional and very knowledgeable of what needed to be done and how to get it accomplished. He was very much a perfectionist as if he was working on his own home. I thought this remodel was going to be a nightmare, but thanks to Adam and Ryan it was easy. I now have a beautiful kitchen. Great Job. Thanks guys I would HIGHLY recommend Cronic Disasters and Reconstruction for any remodel or repair needs. Barbara C

We first started our journey with this company after the Camp Fire. After they lost our contract…read morebecause of turn over, they finally began working with our insurance company. They repeatedly had communication issues with us and the insurance company and TWO YEARS LATER had only installed a temp pole, dug a hole trying to find our well, and rebuilt a water tank and pressure tank with a USED booster pump. They charged our insurance 2,145.00 for that used pump (it was OUR OLD PUMP they NEVER replaced it) and told us that the reason why the pvc pipe kept breaking was because of PG&E power fluctuations. We had to pay out of pocket for another company to come fix their error after multiple problems with it. They tried to charge us for repairing this problem and even threatened to put a lien on our property for not paying them to repair their error. FINALLY, we parted ways with a threat to the CSLB in 2020 and found a new contractor, just in time for the Covid material cost increases. We should have filed our complaint with the CSLB and taken them to court. I suggest you have your contract looked at by a contract attorney if you decide to go with this company. You may have to hire a secretary to deal with them and try to get them to respond to you because it was a nearly full-time job for me. We have tried to make the owner/manager aware of the issues we experienced but we don't know if he doesn't care of if the local office is preventing our concerns from reaching him. We have all communications and documents regarding this issue. If you want to know more, reach out to me directly.

Carl, Estimator, Project Manager came to my house this week to look at a water issue on my porch…read moreoverhang. While the issue, thankfully, was not as serious as I had thought and feared, Carl was thorough, thoughtful and respectful. Being an older single woman seems to present some people, especially "servicemen", with the opportunity to speak to me and treat me as if I am an idiot and assume they can take advantage. This was certainly not the case with Carl. He made helpful suggestions for how I could follow-up with a different type of service and left me with useful information. While my issue did not require the scope of work done by Chronic, I would definitely reach out to them in the future if I ever did need their services.
