FOOD: Im no Korean, but the food here was amazing and legit. It did take half an hour to make the dish as we sat patiently for it but it was worth it. Definitely felt like a mom and pop restaurant because they were both in the kitchen supporting one another.

We came here for lunch during the Covid times (on December 31, 2020). I called beforehand to make sure that they are open. The owner picked up the phone and asked me what time I will be showing up. I told him that I will head there now. He then proceeded and asked me how many people and my name. No he didn't take down my phone number so I am guessing he probably wrote it down on a piece of paper. But regardless, we were the only people dining inside. The reason why the owner asked for our name was so that he could set up 2 tables. A high-top and regular dining table. We got the option to pick which table we wanted to sit at. We ordered two dishes to share. We got the Galibi BBQ ($24) and the Grilled Pork Belly ($19) to share. The Galibi BBQ came with rice and a small dish of sides. The Grilled Pork Belly came with lettuce, dipping sauce, rice and a small dish of sides. The food was very delicious but not wow. I found the portion size a bit small and also their prices are much more higher than their competitors in Kelowna. For example their Kimbap is $10 for a roll and their competitor charges $7.95 for a roll. This goes with every item on the menu. On top, their sides are not free refills like many other Korean restaurants. Note that they are not located downtown too. So most of their customers are local / neighboring residence in the area. We came during Covid times. So note that this places charges for tap water. On top, they will only roll the food out in a cart and you will have to serve yourself. This is a family ran business. The restaurant is not big. The husband of this restaurant is the waiter and cashier. The wife of this restaurant is the chef. So in the entire restaurant there are only two people working. There are free parking out in the front. Is this restaurant worth coming to try, you ask me? Well it is nothing special and also with the prices it charges, I wouldn't make a special trip here. The food is authentic. Was I full after the meal. The answer was not really. If this restaurant was in Vancouver, I would give it 3 stars. Note that this place doesn't have the Korean Grill BBQ available. The food that they serve are all cooked in their kitchen.

(Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.

And then I get sad when I eat pasta, chicken and fries and sandwiches for 3 days straight.... I just can't. So I was in desperate need of some medium grain rice when I headed into this place. I knew from the name that there was some Korean food options being served here. They have a bunch of Korean fried chicken options, but there are also Japanese foods like katsu on the menu that don't involve raw fish. I got the nigiri lunch special. For $21 in the heart of downtown Kelowna, I thought it was a fair price. The lunch special comes with 4 pieces of nigiri, a shrimp tempura/California roll, a few pieces of tempura, deep fried spring rolls, miso soup and a small salad. The salad dressing was good, but the leaves were a little old. Other than that, everything else was great. The tempura was so crispy and the roll was pretty good. The fish quality probably could have been better, but honestly this is middle America and I've had a lot worse. The service was sooooo nice. Everyone I've met in restaurants in Kelowna have been so nice and this was no exception. I loved that my water had a little slice of lemon in it and that they checked on me without being irritating. The food came out fast and I easily paid when I was ready to go. The inside has quite a few tables and nice heavy chairs that remind me of old, fancy Chinese restaurants. They even have an outside eating area. There are some other sushi spots along Bernard street, but this one was the closest to the waterfront. I enjoyed my experience here and would come back if I had the opportunity.

Highly recommend their mango dragon and ogopogo which I think are the most popular here anyway. All the rolls were great. Good rice to filling ratio and lots of fresh flavours. We also got the snow onion fried chicken. Very very nicely fried chicken. Love the crispy and thin batter. The chicken is still juicy too! Service here is also fantastic. Really friendly and always checking in on you to make sure everything's great, without interrupting your meal. Just a great place to go with friends wether for a nice catch up or a quick meal.
