Mix of fried and baked legs and wings.
    Clariee J.

3.5 stars Support black businesses! I really love this concept: buy the size container you want, then stuff it to capacity with your choice of chicken (fried and baked), rolls, and potato wedges. There's no tables or chairs or anything in here; just a kitchen in the back, a register, and a small buffet cart with about 4-5 places for food. I came in today around noon and bought a small bucket ($13.20 with tax) and was told to "fill it with as much as you want. The lid has to be able to close." Challenge accepted. I grabbed some plastic gloves (I wish all buffets had them available!) and got to work. I got about 8 pieces of chicken in there (5 legs, 3 wings) and could have put more in, but I didn't feel like playing Tetris with the bucket. But no doubt, I can get 10 pieces in there, maybe 12 if i just get legs. I got baked and fried chicken. I was a little disappointed in the seasonings on the fried. It was perfectly cooked, though. Crunchy on the outside, very juicy on the inside. But it needed salt. No problem; I was planning on adding hot sauce anyway. The baked chicken was seasoned really well and was also cooked perfectly. I like this place. It's no fuss, get in get out. Chicken lovers, go check it out!

Well my friend kept telling me how fresh the chicken is here and how every Every is cooked fresh. That wasn't the case for me today. This restaurant is cafeteria style. When i came in, there was already fried and baked chicken sitting in the trays. It didn't look too fresh. There was only one potato log and one dinner roll left. I got the small size meal and put a lot of the baked chicken in. I picked over the fried chicken and wasn't too pleased with the quality. I waited for the guy in the back to bring out fresher meet but he only brought out a few more logs and rolls. This restaurant is very convenient but isn't anything if the chicken isn't fresh. This isn't an eat in restaurant. I brought my chicken home with me and put it in the oven. After tasting it, the chicken was delicious! I just wish i could've had it when it was fresh. For that, i give this yelp review 3 stars

Food was edible at best. Service was terrible. And the owner acted like I owed her reparations because I ate there. What a joke.

Good chicken! Only I got less than a pound of chicken for 10.00. A lesson learned. In this case you don't get what you pay for

The baked chicken wings were my least favorite, but not bad.

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.

I tried them with honey and Dave's sauce, and both just made them even better. We got there around 10:59 and the guy with the glasses who opened the door was such a vibe! You could tell he loved his job and he made us feel super welcome. The kitchen staff was hustling too--nobody was just standing around. You could tell they all had the same goal: serve great food and keep things moving. Even though it was busy, there was still plenty of space to sit and enjoy our meal. The atmosphere was fun and the staff was really friendly and helpful with questions and orders. I just hope the great service and energy stay consistent even after the "newness" wears off, because this visit was spot on!

You walk in and you choose your table and a nice waitress will bring your menus. We like the chicken strip basket which comes with two sides. The chicken strips are very crispy, the meat is just a little dry but the flavor is great with even the mild level heat having nice heat. We also got the catfish which has a perfect crust and perfectly cooked inside. The baskets come with sauce and you get two per order. Probably more than you'll need. We were told to seat ourselves and our menus would be brought to us. After a short wait, the bartender/server came to take our drink order and food order. We both ordered the mild heat chicken tender special (3 tenders and fries for $7). We also added a veggie plate so we could try the Mac and cheese and greens. Our food arrived after a few minutes. The tenders were cooked fresh and were piping hot when they arrived. The chicken was dusted with mild heat seasoning. Outside of that seasoning, they weren't seasoned with anything else. We both remarked that we've had better Nashville hot tenders and better tenders in general. The Mac and cheese was just okay but the greens were the star of the meal. They were flavorful, meaty and had just enough kick to keep things interesting. Good meal overall. I recommend that you try them out. We will return to try other menu items.
