Located in a strip mall, parking is plentiful but you will cross a traffic lane no matter where you park. There are some handicapped spaces right across from the entrance. There are no steps or curb so walking is very easy. Walking in, there is a small buffet cart to the right and a cash register to the left. There are signs telling your what to do, but the person working the register was very helpful. You purchase a bucket of the size you want. Then you pack it full of chicken, potato wedges, and biscuits. Most pieces are cooked to order so will take 15-20 minutes but they will be very fresh. There was some chicken on the buffet cart so a snack pack could be filled quickly. Some chicken had been there 10 minutes or so while others were freshly added. They do take call in orders so you can call ahead and they will make your chicken so it's ready when you get there. One thing I really liked was they asked what chicken pieces I wanted for my bucket. Another thing I liked is they asked you to put on disposable gloves to get stuff from the buffet. I selected the medium bucket. I was able to fit about five wings, four breasts, four rolls, and a bunch of potato wedges and still get you the lid on. They do encourage you to fill your bucket which is nice. I feel I got my money's worth. The baked chicken wings were my least favorite, but not bad. They sat on the buffet longest so were a little dry. The baked breast was good though. The seasoning is flavorful but not spicy even though it looks like it could be. The fried chicken pieces were excellent. Moist and tender meat with a crispy coating that was not crunchy. Overall seasoning was mild. The potato wedges were more like thick strips. Some were over six inches long. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The rolls were outstanding. They must have honey injected or soaked in and then covered with butter. They are light but can be filling. It seems like they take care to produce fresh chicken and sides, and let you pick you choice of chicken pieces. The end result is a good value for some excellent fresh food. read more

3.5 stars Support black businesses! I really love this concept: buy the size container you want, then stuff it to capacity with your choice of chicken (fried and baked), rolls, and potato wedges. There's no tables or chairs or anything in here; just a kitchen in the back, a register, and a small buffet cart with about 4-5 places for food. I came in today around noon and bought a small bucket ($13.20 with tax) and was told to "fill it with as much as you want. The lid has to be able to close." Challenge accepted. I grabbed some plastic gloves (I wish all buffets had them available!) and got to work. I got about 8 pieces of chicken in there (5 legs, 3 wings) and could have put more in, but I didn't feel like playing Tetris with the bucket. But no doubt, I can get 10 pieces in there, maybe 12 if i just get legs. I got baked and fried chicken. I was a little disappointed in the seasonings on the fried. It was perfectly cooked, though. Crunchy on the outside, very juicy on the inside. But it needed salt. No problem; I was planning on adding hot sauce anyway. The baked chicken was seasoned really well and was also cooked perfectly. Well my friend kept telling me how fresh the chicken is here and how every Every is cooked fresh. That wasn't the case for me today. This restaurant is cafeteria style. When i came in, there was already fried and baked chicken sitting in the trays. It didn't look too fresh. There was only one potato log and one dinner roll left. I got the small size meal and put a lot of the baked chicken in. I picked over the fried chicken and wasn't too pleased with the quality. I waited for the guy in the back to bring out fresher meet but he only brought out a few more logs and rolls. This restaurant is very convenient but isn't anything if the chicken isn't fresh. This isn't an eat in restaurant. I brought my chicken home with me and put it in the oven. After tasting it, the chicken was delicious! I just wish i could've had it when it was fresh. If you love chicken, you'll love this place... This is a small local business with a friendly owner who has just relocated his shop to this location. This appears to be take out only so don't plan to sit and eat. The owner has a novel concept on how to order. You don't buy chicken by the piece or in a predetermined set. Instead, you buy a container by size and you put what you want. As much as you can fit. You get to choose from fried or baked chicken and then sides of potato wedges and rolls. These are all laid out in a buffet style presentation. Make sure you put your sanitary gloves on (provided on the buffet table) before you serve yourself. The even better news is that the chicken was really good. Sunday evening home cooked good. The fried chicken was hot, juicy, and crunchy with great flavor. The baked chicken was also good, hot, and tasty. Hard to say which one is better. If you are in need of a quick family meal or even a lunch stop in, this place will do nicely. I love this place. the chicken is excellent and it's the one place where I can get a bonafide tater log! The fill your bucket concept is perfect for allowing custom meals. The only drawback is the wait. Everytime I go, I have to wait 15-20 mins for more food to be fried. It really takes the convienence out of a quick stop for dinner. read more

Hit this place up pretty regular since it's right next to where I get my hair cut. Excellent chicken. The whole concept of pack your own bucket is a thumbs up. Buckets come in several sizes and it's take out only. Sometimes they have bbq or baked chicken, too. Get the fried potatoes. Skip the fried rolls. They also have drinks in the cooler. Really good chicken! I especially like their baked chicken. The BBQ chicken is super sweet and sticky with lots of honey. The fried chicken is just good, down-to-earth yumminess. Lots of crags, nooks, and crannies...like good fried chicken should have! Crunchy! The potato logs are a nice change, too. The staff is incredibly friendly and they take a lot of pride in their yard bird. And it's super, super clean to boot. Be sure you stop by and pack your buckets to the max! I went for the first time today but didn't realize it was pretty much a small buffet with only chicken, fries and rolls, so I told the employee that I didn't like buffets, but thanked him and he said "then why the f*** did you come here". This was my first visit to Chicken w Bones. It won't be my last! They offer roasted and fried chicken, potato wedges and rolls. Everything is takeaway, no dining room. It's an unusual concept - you choose what size bowl you want to fill and then serve yourself from a buffet. You can choose any amount or combination of food, but the lid has to close. Now here's the scoop...the chicken there is great. I mean fantastic. The roasted chicken was tender, juicy and seasoned just right. Same for the fried chicken, better than fast food and most other casual dining restaurants. They don't let the food sit out too long, so it's fresh and hot no matter when you go.
