So many things to love here: the chicken tenders were to die for. Juicy, juicy, juicy. The soy-garlic dipping sauce was scrumptious. The Kimchi fried rice was delicious and we rounded out our meal with some tasty-crispy-salty-tender-fries. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS SO STELLAR IT ID WORTH 10 MILLION STARS! Juicy, flavorful chicken with tons of options! Chicken Troopers was a great find in Norwalk! Everything we tried was flavorful, juicy, and generously portioned. We started with the Angry Chicken Plate, which came with rice and nicely charred chicken with a little kick. The CT Chicken Sandwich was one of my favorites--the chicken was crispy, tangy, and juicy, and the sweet and spicy original sauce paired perfectly with the pretzel bun. We also ordered the Half Chicken with Original Sauce, which came with plenty of meaty pieces that were nicely coated in their addictive sauce. The Army Base Stew was also delicious, with a flavorful broth and ramen loaded with ingredients. Overall, the chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Norwalk area. I'd happily come back to try more of their menu! read more

I've been craving some Korean chicken, and this place absolutely hit the spot. When we arrived, there were a few people ahead of us, but we were able to place our order pretty quickly. They have a good selection of food ranging from fried chicken and army stew to a variety of fried sides. These are the items we tried. Army Stew - A simple classic. It was good and came with ramen, rice cakes, sausages, Spam, and much more. It's pretty much what you'd expect from an army stew. Solid overall, and it also comes with a bowl of rice. (4/5) Soy Garlic Wings - We got a half chicken, and these were good. TBH, they were a bit less flavorful and crispy than some of the other Korean wing spots I've been to, but if you prefer a lighter flavor, these definitely hit the spot. Solid. (4/5) Kimchi Chicken Sandwich - This was delicious. I'd never had a chicken sandwich with kimchi before, but it works really well. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the flavors were well balanced. My favorite. (5/5) Rooster Fries - A simple yet tasty fried dish. It comes with fries and chicken tenders. Good and pretty much what you'd expect. (4/5) Overall, I really enjoyed the simple vibe and the food here. The restaurant reminds me a bit of a fast food spot, but the food is definitely good and the pricing is reasonable. It's worth checking out. Parking - Not bad, but there are only three spots in front. Otherwise, side street parking looked pretty plentiful. read more

The space is clean with plenty of tables, and the service was great --they kept checking in on us. Everything made fresh to order. Honestly, a half-size chicken is the perfect portion for two people to share. Coleslaw is good but the cabbage pieces are cut pretty big. Yuzu flavor is incredibly unique with a bright, punchy yuzu sauce. The breading not too thick, not too thin. If you're dining in, I highly recommend getting the sauce mixed in rather than on the side. It also comes with a side of that crunchy radish. The Original Half Chicken is tossed in a delicious gochujang and gochugaru-style sauce, but don't let the red color fool you--it's actually not spicy at all. We also had to try the Soy Garlic Half Chicken. Flavor-wise, the soy flavor is definitely a bit stronger than the garlic. Kimchi Chicken Sandwich worth the price for its size! It's built on a lightly toasted, buttery pretzel bun. The sauce is a complex blend of hot, sweet, and sour. While the base sauce isn't as fiery as I expected, the fresh jalapeños inside definitely bring the heat. The kimchi pairs perfectly with the chicken, the pickles add a great extra crunch, and it hits all the right notes: spicy, salty, and sweet. It's a tiny bit on the salty side though. Overall, fantastic spot for lunch/dinner after stopping nearby a cafe. read more

Wanted to try a new chicken spot. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their chicken tenders, rooster fries, half fried chicken, kimchi chicken sando, and honey chicken to try. All their chicken was super tender and juicy but not very crispity crunchity. The tenders came with a liquidy slightly sweet garlicy sauce and some sweet crunchy lightly mayoy coleslaw. The rooster fries were loaded with cut up chicken tenders, mayo, cheese, bacon, spicy jalapeños, and a sweet gochujangy sauce. Since they were so loaded tho it did kinda all get soggy. The half fried chicken was a little more crunchy and came with some more of that gochujang sauce for dipping and crunchy pickled radish. The kimchi chicken sando was massive and had a thick dark meat piece of chicken smothered in more sweet sticky gochujang sauce, crunchy tangy pickles and kimchi, spicy jalapeños, nutty lettuce and rich mayo all on a soft chewy pretzel bun. The honey chicken came with some veggies and rice, had good grilled flaves and was pretty much like a teriyaki chicken. Kinda wish the fried chicken was all a little more crunchy but service was awesome and Portions, prices, and flaves are decent so this place is still lowkey pretty good. Chicken tenders $11.50 Rooster fries $14.50 Half fried chicken $15.50 Kimchi chicken sando $11.50 Small honey chicken $12.25 read more

this is a great place to stop by if you're craving some chicken! we came after the world cup finale and were starvinggg so we got a ton of food. soy garlic fried chicken: 5/5 - my favorite out of everything that we ordered. i loved the soy garlic flavor and the chicken was super plump and juicy. ct chicken sandwich: 4/5 - the cashier recommended this one, and i really enjoyed the crunch of the chicken. ct fries: 5/5 - absolutely inhaled these. the sauce was a great flavor and i really enjoy a balance of soggy and crunchy fries. army stew: 3/5 - my friend and i love this dish so we ordered it, but honestly the portions aren't that crazy for the price. the soup flavor didn't stand out to me and it just tasted like ramen. i enjoyed the sausages in it, but would recommend getting the chicken at this place more. this was my friend's favorite dish though. charbroiled angry chicken: 5/5 - i brought this home to eat since we were already so full from the other food, and it was still amazing as a leftover! i like the slight spice, and its a solid rice bowl with a decent amount of protein. there was a ton of seating in this place, and it was a nice roomy spot to get food. the parking lot is pretty small. all the staff were super kind, and the cashier was ready to offer recommendations. read more

Have been meaning to come to this place for over a year, I'm so upset I put it off for so long. I had the Kimchi Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! The chicken thigh meat was perfectly fried. The cheese sticks were fine, those were nothing too special. But this is a chicken place, and the chicken was GREAT. Loved the taste of the kimchi and pickles with the slightly spicy fried chicken. The service was great too, told me it would take 10-15 min to cook, and it did. Made sure I didn't need anything else when the food was delivered. Answered all my questions when I ordered. Downfall, not very much parking at all. And I cannot speak to the sides yet, YET. read more

We were craving Korean fried chicken so decided to come here. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. The restaurant is pretty spacious, very open and clean. The server answered all of our questions about the menu and also recommended some things. We decided to order: Half chicken soy garlic Half chicken Original Kimchi fried rice Army stew Gravy fries Special fries The food came out pretty quickly and OMG it did not disappoint! The chicken was very well sauced and still had a little crunch. My daughter really loved the garlic soy and my favorite was the original since it had a little spice to it. The french fries were also very flavorful. The army stew came with spam, sausage, rice cakes, and ramen. It was warm and comforting to eat! Overall, i give this place 10/10! If you're going to be ordering multiple items, I suggest you order when you're ready to eat them. The chicken is quick to get cold. It arrives piping hot otherwise. The chickens strips had the feel and texture of raising canes strips, but lacking the strength that the canes sauce brings. Perhaps I'm not a the biggest fan of Korean sauces. I think that their spicy sauce (not the bbq one) was quite delicious. It was sweet with a tiny kick. Their French fries are quite good, they arrive seasoned. We ordered the spicy chile sandwich. It was packed with veggies, and the buns were very soft and moist. I wish I could've enjoyed it fresh out the fryer. It was very quiet and empty. read more

This place was spacious inside & clean. They have a small parking lot in the front and another one in the back so finding parking was easy to find. Everything was made fresh to order, took about 10mins to get my food. I got the kimchi chicken sandwich, nuclear fire chicken & rooster fries. One of the best chicken sandwiches I had in a while. It was huge and juicy. The fries were solid. & the nuclear fire chicken wasnt as spicy as I thought it was gonna be! Dont get me wrong it was still hot but it was doable and it was good. I love the rice cake texture so I enjoyed it! Definitely a place worth checking out. read more

Ordered their spicy korean chicken stew & army stew. People gotta give their stews a try. Chicken stew tasted just like my mom's homemade ones. Perfect seasoning and spicy level. Plus I LOVED how the potatoes were cooked long enough to be soft. Bravo. Army stew at that price, I wasn't expecting too much since I've been let down by other local korean restaurants for army stews under $20. Boy, was i wrong. Hefty portion for the price and tasted better than a lot of other local spots. Glad I found this place and looking forward to keep coming back! read more

I ordered pickup. Told the guy on the phone it was my first time ordering from them. He walked me through everything and made sure I didn't order too much. I have eaten here over the years so I thought I should write a review. First, the food is delicious. The fried chicken strips, the regular fried chicken, and the grilled chicken are always fresh and perfectly cooked. The French fries topped with gravy is great. I love their kimchi fried rice. My favorite is the fried chicken Caesar salad. So refreshing. I order the dressing on the side so I can control the amount. The serving sizes are generous and the prices are on par with other establishments. The place is always clean with plenty of seats, even for big groups. The service is always good, polite and attentive. read more

I guess I'm the fly in the ointment. I got a kimchi chicken sandwich and an order of CT fries. Items that appeared spicy in a cuisine known for its heat. Were they spicy and crispy and delicious? No. They were sweet. Gaggingly, cloyingly, infuriatingly sweet. Like someone had gently soaked them in syrup. The fries were literally soggy, there was so much sweet sauce on them! I went from one item to the next, somehow hoping that they would get better. They did not. A few bites in, I wrapped it up. Thought, "Maybe someone at home will like this." And when the guy asked me if I liked my meal and I explained to him that I did not, that it was too sweet. He said "Yeah a lot of people tell us that". Korean fried chicken is some of the best chicken on the planet. It's like the nation of Korea has perfected what so many others do so poorly. And it had been a frustrating, expensive, giant-waste-of-time kind of a day and I was sooo looking forward to a tasty dinner. I'll try to act like an adult.. and move on. I came in craving crispy chicken tenders. In turn, I got a healthy high protein meal LOL. This is the most chickeny chicken tenders I've ever had. They definitely gave me over a pound of chicken. don't get me wrong, it was so delicious. But the batter to meat ratio I feel could be improved. If it had more batter for a crispy bite, the tenders would win me over. Still good though, especially if you're on a high protein diet. Service was friendly. Ambiance was clean and quiet. read more

The tenders are juicy and the breading is amazing. I know this is an Asian inspired place but I want the biggest fan of their red sauce.

Pretty delicious meal, slightly pricey but you get your protein and rice. The angry chicken isn't really that spicy so it was still enjoyable. The char on the chicken adds more flavor. The rice is good, not overcooked or undercooked. The vegetables are interesting; a couple of pieces of broccoli and cauliflower with a "dressing" on the side which tastes good with the minimal vegetables it comes with. read more

As you guys know, I really love eating KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). Last night, I decided to try Chicken Troopers, located across the street from Coffee Code in Norwalk. Food: Ordered half size fried chicken with special sauce (C.T sweet and spicy with fresh white onion and cilantro). Got with cheese stick and soda. I took a bite of the chicken. Very different than any other Korean chicken shop I've been to. It got a pretty good kick to it. Spicy, but hella delicious. Half size fried chicken is more than enough for me to eat. Service: Employees here are so nice. They do check up and see how's the food was. Overall: I will be back to try some more stuff here. 5 stars!!! read more

Late post on this. Stopped by for work-lunch and was feening for some KFC(KoreanFriedChicken). Review is just on their Kimchi Chicken Sandwich. Gaaawdaawm was not expecting it ti be this good. This place is not a chain from what I understand, and there are literally hundreds of other Spicy Chimkin sando spots. This is legit on my Top 5. It was super fresh hot out the fryer. The kimcho and Jaw-la-puh-nose put it on a whole nubba-level. Have not tried other items but will def come back to try the stews and some of their fries. Place is small, with designated small parking, but street parking is available near by. Counter person was nice and they take their time so order ahead and avoid the 15 min wait. read more

Buckle up, chicken lovers, because Chicken Troopers in Norwalk, CA, is a crispy, juicy, flavor-packed gem that's an absolute must-visit! This place doesn't just serve chicken--it launches your taste buds into a flavor galaxy far, far away, and the mastermind behind it all is none other than Sean, the owner, who's basically the Tony Stark of taste. Let's talk about the chicken: it's so tasty, I'm pretty sure it's what angels snack on during their lunch break. The fried chicken, especially the C.T. Special with its sweet-spicy sauce, onions, and cilantro, is a crunchy masterpiece that hits your mouth like a K-pop beat--bold, zesty, and impossible to resist. One bite, and I was ready to write a love song about it. The Honey Grilled Chicken? Oh, it's so tender and perfectly balanced, it could mediate world peace. Every piece is made to order, fresh as a morning breeze, and so juicy it's practically a hydration station. I ordered the Kimchi Chicken Sandwich, and let me tell you, that pretzel bun hugging juicy dark meat with a kick of kimchi and pickled jalapeños had me questioning all my life choices that led me to not eat here sooner. Now, let's give a standing ovation to Sean, the culinary genius who swapped sushi for chicken and somehow made the world a better place. This guy went from crafting sushi so good it could make a fish blush to slinging chicken that's basically poetry on a plate. Sean's not just an owner--he's a vibe curator, a flavor alchemist, and probably the nicest human in Norwalk. He's out here greeting customers like they're long-lost cousins, remembering orders like he's got a PhD in hospitality, and ensuring every bite is a banger. I'm convinced he sprinkles a little bit of his radiant positivity into every dish, because how else do you explain this level of deliciousness? The atmosphere at Chicken Troopers is like a warm hug from a trendy, family-friendly aunt. It's casual, clean, and buzzing with the kind of energy that makes you want to stay for seconds (and thirds). The staff? Super sweet and attentive, probably trained by Sean himself to spread joy like it's confetti. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or planning a chicken-fueled feast, this place delivers with a side of good vibes. In short, Chicken Troopers is Norwalk's golden ticket to poultry paradise, and Sean is the Willy Wonka of wings. Bring your stretchy pants, order everything on the menu, and give Sean a high-five for making the world a tastier place. You'll be dreaming of that chicken long after you leave. Must-visit? More like must-move-in. read more
