Decent amount of food for lunch without feeling heavy.

Easy to locate right along Hixson Pike, the sign out front is easily noticed. There's plenty of parking, with a handicapped spot right by the door. About half the parking is adjacent to the building. The rest is across a traffic lane. You can also apparently park in the lot of the business next door. There is a drive through and they also offer curb side pickup. Walking in, the ordering counter is to the right. The menu is on the wall behind the counter. There's a lot to take in but its well organized and easy to navigate. I tried the Dixie Chick scoop with the pasta salad for the side. My order took about four minutes to prepare as I was the only person inside. The Dixie Chick was billed as for onion lovers and the onion was certainly noticeable but not overpowering. The onion is well minced so there were no pieces evident. The shredded chicken was plentiful. The mix was able to hold it's shape so there was not too much mayonnaise added. Overall it was very tasty and well prepared. The pasta salad was also good. There was a slight tang from the dressing which complimented the onion chicken salad very well. You also get a pickle and a cookie. The pickle was crisp and flavorful. The cookie was a light cookie with butter cream icing. It's prepackaged, and the packaging required scissors to get into. It was worth the effort. I also requested crackers which were nothing special. I look forward to coming back to try more of the menu. They also offer pimento cheese, so I'm really looking forward to trying that.

The food was alright. My croissant was soggy on the bottom from the chicken salad. Plus my chicken salad was warm !

We came on Sunday brunch where we were told they use all of the ingredients from the week so nothing goes to waste and they create a new menu each Sunday to do this. I loved this ethos. We had crispy pork belly with celeriac purée and golden pickled beetroot and the chicken salad sandwich with potato hash. A little one had a lemon blueberry waffle, which I tried, and it was outstanding as well.. When I asked for a children's money if they did not have one, but they were incredibly accommodating and they said they can make us anything we want and gave us some examples! Also, while we were waiting for our food to come, they brought us some children's toys for our little one to play with, which was much appreciated. We had a brief interaction with him on our visit and he was so nice but it was as we were leaving. It's tiny and crowded and that's okay! But the servers are constantly being snotty brats at you for like, bothering to exist. We sat outside and everyone waiting was leaning with their butts pressed on our table. The food sounded better than it tasted but it wasn't bad. I just wasn't blown away. But honestly the girls working there were SO RUDE that I haven't been able to go back even though I want to give it a second chance. We waited for a while to pay but they didn't come back, and so many people were waiting, we went inside to let them run our card. Well, two of them screamed at us for "crowding" the space and then yanked the card out of my husband's hand and told him to go wait outside and chastised us for not staying out until they bothered to come. lol. Sorry for trying to pay. I wish we hadn't.

We became Soddy-Daisyians just this past Spring, but we discovered Wimpies, well over a year ago…read morewhen we started our journey to move out this way. I am a breakfast guy and Wimpies is exactly what you'd expect from a local "greasy spoon" establishment: good food, good service from super friendly (sometimes playfully snarky) waitstaff, comfortable and clean dining area. It is my go-to for a local breakfast meet or even if I just want to get out of the house! They know how to cook eggs to order as well as your meat (I like my bacon done!), and their biscuits are awesome (most of the time). Now, for the reason I dropped one star... We've patronized them for dinner a handful of times and their dinner fare is good. They always have a homespun set of daily specials along with their standard dishes that include sandwiches (burgers, chicken), meat and threes, fish and the food has generally been very good. The problem I have with the dinner shift is the inconsistency in service! We've been for dinner and received the same good service we get in the morning, but more often than not the waitstaff is not up to par. In fact, I wouldn't say they were up to triple bogey! Our last time there we waited more than 15min before anyone visited us. The young gal didn't get either of our orders 100% correct. We couldn't bring it up because she disappeared for 10+min at a time so we just ate what we got! When we did get her her ability to retain the request from our table to the back-of-house (maybe 12-15') and back was abysmal! Once she even stopped to talk to a colleague and that was that. We never got that request fulfilled. We haven't been back for dinner since. Not sure I could get my wife to go. Anyway, the bottom line is, breakfast...most definitely, dinner...you might be rolling the dice. If you care less about service and just want some tasty dinner food, then you are probably okay. ;-)

When I was in town at lunch time I was happy to see it was back open and serving dine in blue plate specials once again. This place used to be like a mom and pop meat and three lunch spot with really good food. Now they have a dedicated blue plate menu that doesn't change day to day like it used too. Now lunch is on a steam table for hot food and refrigeration cases for cold items that you serve yourself from which I'm ok with. Then once you have made your plate you take it up front to be weighed and are charged accordingly. Now I'll say I'm a fan of this unique concept. I didn't have to choose between hamburger steak and chicken tenders, I was able to have a little of both, with okra, mashed potatoes and Lima beans for $14 dollars. Certainly not bad. All in all as you can see from the picture the food to price ratio is a big selling point on this concept and probably a big factor in sustainability of clientele. Sadly the food quality has suffered a tad from the great place it once was but it's still a pretty solid meal spot, good but not great.
