We have been going to this Chicken Salad Chick location since they opened. On this visit I wanted to try the new Greek Goddess. I love feta cheese and Kalamata olives. The chicken salad was really good. I wish I would not have gotten it on the croissant because it took away from the flavor. Their potato soup is one of my favorites and I get it almost every time I am there. The staff is always friendly. They were a bit distracted when we got there and it took a few moments for them to even realize we were standing at the counter. They were too busy talking to each other. read more

Every time I have come to this location it has been great. The place is clean and the service is quick and accurate. I tried the Chicken Salad Melt meal, it comes with your choice of chicken salad scoop (I chose Sassy Scotty) on a croissant with melted provolone cheese along with your side (I got the loaded potato soup) and cookie. It was so good with the croissant and the soup was chunky and filling. I think this will be my go to order from now on. read more

I have wanted to stop in here for quite some time and finally got the chance. I did not order up but my wife and sister in law did and they loved the dishes. The hardest part was making a decision on they types to get. Staff was super fun and patient putting up with the indecisive patrons. Right before you get to the order counter they do have some pre-made to go orders. I am sure this will be a regular stop to have on the counter for everyone to dip/snack on. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I won't let it happen again. I've had two disappointing drive-thru experiences since my initially positive dine-in review. Each time, there was no line, so ordering was quick. I ordered the Chicken Salad Melt both visits, trying different flavors. During my first drive-thru visit, the croissant and cheese were cold and clearly not toasted, which was disappointing given that the sandwich is meant to be a "melt." I live very close, so the coldness wasn't due to the drive home because the cheese was still in it's square shape. My previous dine-in experience was excellent, making this a significant letdown. On my second drive-thru visit, I requested extra toasting, but the croissant and cheese remained cold and unmelted. I ended up microwaving it at home, which ruined the integrity of the sandwich. To top it off, when I paid in cash, I didn't receive the exact change and was told they were "out of pennies." read more

I went inside to pick up some chicken salad to go even though they have a drive through lane. I like to take my time in deciding what to buy. I knew they have several flavors of chicken salad and I couldn't remember which kind I got last time. I arrived well after 1 pm on a Thursday and there many parking places available right in front of the restaurant. They have a large refrigerator located just before the order counter with prepackaged containers of their various offerings. I chose a small size of the Olivia's Old South style of chicken salad. I looked hard at their egg salad, thought about it but didn't get one and then regretted it. The small size container says it serves two to three servings but I was able to make four sandwiches. Check out service was fast and the cashier asked if I wanted crackers. He gave me several packs of wheat crackers. As I was leaving, I noted that the dining room was nearly empty so I guess the lunch rush was over. There was one table occupied outside. The following day, Friday, my sister and I put the chicken salad on toasted white bread and we loved out sandwiches. I love the sweet flavor that the sweet pickles add. This is exactly how I make my own homemade chicken salad. The egg as an ingredient is also very complimentary to the flavor as well. The Olivia's Old South style is a very close match to my own homemade chicken salad which is great because I don't like cooking chicken ;-) read more

Last month was my first time visiting Chicken Salad Chick, and since then I have visited at least four times. However, I wanted to give a shoutout to Malik for his hospitality during my last visit. As I was waiting in line to have my order taken. Malik offered to let me try the soup (which I declined because I've tasted them all already). But it was the feeling of being acknowledged for the first time since I had walked in that made the difference. I appreciated Malik very much that evening and I wanted to be sure to thank him and this store for having him. Will be back soon. read more

I have gone here twice now. I understand they are new and they have a lot of kinks to work out. The first experience I had was at the drive through. Nice staff taking the order--seemed to be very meticulously trying to get my order correct. I placed my order for the chicken salad scoop with crackers. Only because their menu was a little confusing. So as I was placing my order, I specifically told them I wanted the scoop with the crackers. I didn't want a sandwich since I was cutting the carbs. I personally thought the price was a tad high for what I was getting. Since I had never been there before, I just had to see what all the fuss was about. When I got home, ( yes, I should have checked my order before I left.) I discovered I had the sandwich instead. Ok, no matter--what about the taste, right? Well, I thought it was ok--not for the price I paid for it. Disappointed--but not giving up--they are new. They have many other chicken salad varieties so I decided that a second trip might be necessary. I did an entire month later. The next time, was about the same. Friendly staff taking the order. I ordered two different types of salads--the Dixie chick and the classic Carol. This time actually getting the sandwiches. And I did order just a scoop of pimento cheese as well scoop of the classic Carol which I did get! It says the scoop feeds approximately two. I'm not sure whether the meant two bites or two spoonfuls. Because there is NO WAY that's little bit feeds two grown adults, barely two children. We were heading out of town and I wanted to get our food to eat on the road without making any stops. Well, both sandwiches ended up being the classic Carol. I didn't have time to go back and correct it. I'm beginning to think they will give me whatever they want me to have, at this point. The classic Carol tasted the same. It's ok. The pimento cheese? I have had better in the grocery store. Sorry. I find it a little hard to believe that this franchise is making an ENTIRE business on the chicken salad. Gotta give some of these new places that are just opening in Avon a little room for error, but all in all today was a great experience for our first time at this restaurant or any chicken salad chick. The decor in the dining area was really nice. The line was pretty long but it moved fairly fast and after we were done the manager came out to ask if everything was good and took our plates. The taste of what we tried today was great! Will def return to try some other flavors! They have bread and croissants to put the chicken salads on of course but I'm not into eating that much bread now, so it's great just to have it on the side in scoops! read more

Tonight's visit was awful. The cashier rushed us in ordering interrupted me twice. When the order came it was incorrect. The person who brought the meal dropped it on the table and didn't say a thing to us. Not the first time this staff person has done this. Normally the Avon, Indiana location is better than this. My husband and I visited today, upon arrival the parking lot was crowded due to other business' in the plaza; However people were leaving and only had to drive around the building and once. We visited the dining room around 12pm and there was no line and seating area was busy, but a few tables open. I got the Fancy Nancy on a croissant with the pasta as my side, then I made it a trio and got fresh fruit. My husband got the classic salad on a croissant and Loaded potato soup. They do ask if you want lettuce and tomatoes on your sandwich. We shared a sweet tea and both agreed it tasted a little syrupy. We did decide to take our order to go due to loud chatter and hustling of people. No issue, just our preference. :) After returning home, we thought the both salads were similar in taste, just different ingredients. No seasonings that we were able to taste, but still delicious. The soup was delicious and they provided plenty of crackers. The pasta salad was fresh and chilled. Fresh fruit was a mixture of grapes, blueberries, and strawberries. They tasted fresh and not mushy. I love they added a pickle and cookie! Great service with the cashier and when receiving our food. We will be returning to try their other chicken salad options! Chicken Salad Chick offers a welcome fresh change to the usual fast food scene. I have been there twice for lunch in the last couple of months. Each time, the clientele was probably 75-80% women which is not a bad thing and perhaps not surprising since it is a woman owned business. You will go into a queue to put in your order at the counter and then be given a drink cup and an order number. The food arrives quite quickly. As the name implies, if you don't like chicken salad, this is probably not the place for you, although there are several soups and a few salad alternatives. But there are many unique interpretations and variations of chicken salad. The serving sizes are modest but appropriate for lunch and every lunch comes with a sugar cookie! read more
