    Half Chicken Meal with Drink

Super fan of fresh chicken and rice, so this place was top tier. The flavor you get here, especially with the hot sauce is phenomenal. The employees are super easygoing and eager to get you great service. The shop itself isn't too big, but super efficient! 10/10 recommend if you're job the area!

This is our first stop in chicago and was kinda disappointed. I saw a lot of good reviews and we were hungry so we gave it a try. We got the half chicken meal with Cole slaw. It also came with pita bread. The price is pretty good because you do get a decent size portion. Service was also pretty good as well. Food wise: chicken was kinda dry and bland, Cole slaw has too much dressing and pita bread was ok. The chicken needed the sauce or else it doesn't have any flavor. The sauce was either bbq or salsa which is a weird combo/option. Overall, ok food but definitely had better.

I met friends here for lunch on a Tuesday. The food is okay, but not great. This is a good, fast and inexpensive restaurant perfect for a fast lunch with counter service. I ordered half a chicken with mashed potatoes and did not leave hungry. However, the grilled chicken is somewhat dry and in need of barbecue or some other seasoning. A little cup of Barbecue sauce comes with the meal if you request it, but there should be more seasoning and/or some sauce to address the dryness of the chicken. I suspect that the issue may be that the cooks pre cook the chicken and leave it on the grill to keep it warm. The mashed potato side was bland and needed some salt. The food tasted generally good and I would return here for lunch.

I would actually give this place a better rating if not for the meat flavor. This place is small, maybe not a great idea for dine in but you could get out fast if you take out. The menu is good and simple. Best part is you get to eat healthy, the chicken is grilled not fried. That's the main reason I'd want to give this place a shot and the prices are really great. I got the quarter chicken with corn in the cob as side, with this you get a half pita too. For the price you pay and the amount of food you get this is actually a great value. The service is fast too. Chicken I got tasted very dry, I was bit disappointed by that. And the other thing that saddened me is I asked for mild sauce and what I got is ketchup.I didn't expect that at all. Everything else is good with this place.

This place was great for the price. I got a half chicken (white meat) with rice, pita bread, and a drink for about $7. The bbq sauce was a joke. It was basically watered down ketchup. Other than that it was great. Seemed to get pretty busy during the lunch hour, but they were prepared and efficient with getting people moved through the line to order and receive their food.

What do you call a chicken crossing the road? "Poultry in Motion" Chicken Planet is truly "Poultry In Motion" It's a tiny, frenetic, drafty hole in wall that you could easily miss. But don't. It's simple, delicious and cheap. When people ask me what kind of chicken it is, I'm totally stumped. The chicken is seasoned but I can't tell what the seasoning is. The owners appear to be of Indian descent but the chicken doesn't taste like any Indian spice I know. If anything, it tastes Latin American. But then they fool you because it comes with a piece of pita! Anyway, it's one of those puzzles you'll probably never figure out. They have a simple menu: roasted chicken. You can get a quarter or a half. You can get it in a wrap or a styrofoam container. You can get it with rice or mashed potatoes. That's about it for your choices. Oh yeah, they have a salsa that's mild but fresh tasting. And don't forget, chicken tastes better if you eat it with your fingers. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ OK, here's four more chicken jokes as a reward for reading this far. +On which side does a chicken have the most feathers? On the outside. +Why couldn't the chicken find her eggs? Because she mislaid them. +What did the chicken do when she saw a bucket of fried chicken? She kicked the bucket. +Why did the chicken go to KFC? She wanted to see a chicken strip.

Perfect lunch spot. The food is very fast (I waited one minute), fresh, and cheap! Only giving four stars because I would have liked the chicken to be a bit juicier but I did carry it back to my office. Mashed potatoes honestly tasted homemade, corn was juicy and hot, chicken was perfectly charred and dame with a sweet bbq sauce. Order: quarter chicken with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes + pita bread

Holy smokes! This is my new favorite lunch spot (as if I ever had one). It was nearly 0 degrees out and I dragged my lunch mate on a 15-minute walk for some grilled chicken. We each had an order of quarter chicken with dark meat, pita bread, and side of mashed potatoes and gravy. All that for less than $5! The chicken was well seasoned, moist, tender, distinctive, mouthwatering, enticing, etc. Okay, I'm running out of adjectives. Just try it and thank me later. The only downside is it's messy and you will leave smelling like a grill. Don't take your office crush here. Note to self: I have to return and try the different bottles of sauce!

The result is meat that is naturally less tender and moist. I was going to ding them until I realized this; thus, it's not a criticism, just the reality of the cut. Their menu is incredibly simple! There are some options available (e.g., sandwich as plain, hot, honey, honey-hot). They also have fries, nuggets, and cans of soda. This simplicity means they're able to specialize very well and make deliciousness! I ordered a sandwich, honey-hot, with the standard mayo and pickles. The chicken was hot and crisp with a thin layer of scrumptious crust. The meat was cooked well, especially given the nature of chicken breast. The honey wasn't overdone and gave a pleasant sweetness. The heat reminded me of Tabasco sauce; while respectable, and the acidity helped add a new flavor dimension, the heat was minimal for my palate. It would be nice if Red Light offered an extra-hot option. The pickles and mayo were in perfect amounts, and the bread was a fresh brioche. Bonus points for the sando not falling apart on me, as happens with places that stuff massive, lopsided thighs to look pretty on Instagram. The service was lightning quick! I had the sandwich in hand less than a minute after ordering. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and polite also. The value is great! In a world where everything costs an arm and a leg, $8 for a reasonably sized chicken sandwich is more than reasonable. Finally, there is no indoor seating whatsoever. There are, however, ample standing-room tables around, with one having overhead heaters. Thus, while not necessarily a destination, Red Light Chicken is a phenomenal neighborhood chicken shop!

Wow. We were blown away with how great this place was!…read more It seems like a good portion of their business is to-go, but we dined in recently and would happily go again. The portions are large (my burrito was giant!), the prices are competitive enough, the food is delicious, and the employees were all very nice. The space was very bright and clean. When you eat in, you're given chips and salsas for the table to start, which was a nice touch. Our meals (the aforementioned burrito and my husband's half chicken combo meal) took about 15 minutes to come out as everything is made to order. The chicken combo meal came with two sides (he went with the Mexican rice and beans), and also arrived with some grilled spring onions, a roasted jalapeño, and a full pack of locally made corn tortillas. Thankfully, it's 'help yourself' to-go containers because we definitely both ended up with leftovers. Afterwards, we were meeting up with some friends and immediately started recommending they check this spot out since they live nearby. We already can't wait to go again sometime soon!

Luckily I had a discount and was able to try it most of the sides. It was french fries the mashed potatoes and the ethnic Mexican elote for corn on a stick with chili butter and Mayonnaise which I heard of and seen but never tried until now. Anyways starting with the mashed potatoes they were delicious. They were not too thick and texture nor was it too whipped. It was just right as well as the gravy that they use which is not too salty. The french fries had the right texture and crisp as well as the season that went well with it it wasn't too soggy and it wasn't too bland. The Mexican elote which I was surprised as a comedian named Leon Rogers mentioned about this Hispanic treat and I just didn't imagine chili powder with mayo on corn but now I taste the difference it is a wow delicious. As for the tune styles of cooking chicken between El jefe and crazy Chico I went for the crazy Chico. This one is Brian's in herbs. It was ok. A healthy choice to eat for dinner versus eating fried chicken but it was fresh but I didn't taste the wow it's not bad but it was not a wow good. When I come back next time I'm going to have to try the El jefe version and it comes in two different sizes I went for the quarter order. Service e was very friendly as I was the co-workers guest. So far 4 out of 5 stars but will be coming back.
