I loved getting my Mexican chop chop for lunch but yesterday the size was so small that I don't think it's worth $11 anymore. They used a single scoop of chicken for the small portion. The bowl was noticeable smaller. The cup for water was a laughable size. The prices are higher and the portions are smaller. I'm sad to see this happen, but I won't be coming back. Chipotle it is. This chicken kitchen is super close to my home. Today was my first time visiting this restaurant and it was very good. The restaurant was extremely clean, I honestly think the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in. The tables were spaced out. There was 3 employees working and there was NO LINE. I repeat, there was NO LINE. They were fast, efficient & most importantly friendly. The chicken that was in my bowl was fresh off the grill and chopped right infront of me. Like most Chicken Kitchen locations, it's a good place for a quick bite, except when the lines are long. I've been here several times and the employees are usually like robots. They are there to work and that's it. The seating areas are sticky sometimes, but it's fairly clean. The condiment areas can get very messy though. There's a soda fountain machine by the side next to one of the doors. I love the crispy chicken skins, the employee will give you some if they are available. Also, if you show your FIU ID, you get a discount on your order. I suggest always leaving a tip because the employees are people too and they're there to make an income. I usually go here on either Friday or Saturday mornings right when they open. There's a guy there that if you say hello, good morning and thank you, we'll give you extra beans and chicken. Also the manager's pretty cute I like her. They sure put a ton of rice on the large Cuban chop, sometimes I need to ask for less rice because that's pretty much all I'm getting. The woman behind the counter was very nice and helpful with my ordering. They have an array of different chops or bowls with different types of toppings. I always get it with plain yellow rice and chicken or a salad. They also have chopped salads which I've gotten in the past that are good. My chief complain about this place is the amount of chicken you get but honestly other than that it's a great fast food restaurant. You get to select the amount of sauce you want which I love. Comes on the side. They are always quick. If you like rice and chicken this is a good spot to hit up on the go. The parking lot can be hectic so park far or take your time looking for a spot. This was the first ever Chicken Kitchen I have visited and I was on the fence about the entire experience. I was staying in a nearby hotel, so when I walked to the grocery store, the sign here caught my eye and I ventured in for lunch. So, to lay out what this place is...it is like a Chipotle, but for chicken dishes from bowls to salad. A large part of the menu is reserved for the brands famous "chop chop" dishes, which get there name from the cook pulling a chicken breast from the grille and then literally chopping it on the cutting board loudly and in a performance-esk way. I ended up with the Mexican style chop chop, a small portion was way more than I anticipated, so I can only imagine what the full order would have been like. While the chicken was pulled directly from the grille, it lacked flavor. To be honest, the entire dish from the rice, beans, sour cream to the chicken all seems to simply lack flavor. There was no seasoning and nothing that pulled all ingredients together as one cohesive dish. To top it off, the customer service was iffy, and that is being nice. I feel that if they did not have fix my food and ask me how and what I wanted, they wouldn't have talked to me at all. Overall, while a great portion for the price the service and bland chicken left too much of an impression on me. While a possibility of me returning is in the air, I am not in a rush to make that happen. read more

Second, there are 3 people "working" but the level of enthusiasm and positivity is so scarce that they might as well be sleeping. They were all lethargic, had a lazy demeanor, and barely spoke or provided a positive experience while I was there. But let's focus on the guy who helped me. He was nice, and made the food I ordered but if that's the least he could do, then gold star for him. I asked for whole pita and he gave each of the meals barely half of one. And all the pitas on all 3 orders were stale. Portion size is ridiculous. A "small" Deluxe chop chop comes with 1/3 cup or chicken. WTF is that?! I know 4 yr olds that each more chicken than that. I would've waited to pay for "extra" chicken but again, the chicken wasn't ready and the pieces that were served barely filled the cup. This is such a bad experience and such bad food overall that I will never visit this place again. And I will be sure to tell everyone the same. Management needs to clean house and step it up. This is a family favorite and after work I swing by and get dinner. Today 2/26/21 I purchased my normal order, a small regular brown rice double chicken, a small deluxe brown rice and a no carb. Usually they use almost 2 breast for my order. I was quite disappointed today as they use 1 breast for all 3. Maybe business is not doing well and you are trying to cut corners but this is definitely not the way. You haven't lost me yet and hopefully it was just the new guy trying to make himself look good. Very rude customer service Made an UberEATS order paid for extra tomato and didn't get tomato at all or extra sauce I asked for. I also asked for a small scoop of rice and got almost nothing but rice and 5 pieces of chicken with skin. I called and the lady on the phone automatically knew my order without asking my name or what I ordered (wow she reads minds and/or know all the orders with out even knowing who or what I order) saying you didn't order this, this and that... my response totally wrong order. Missing 2 orders of pita bread and 2 orders of steamed broccoli. The one order of steamed broccoli we received was raw. We even asked in the store as they put it in a bag and were told it was steamed. Then we asked about our 2 other broccoli sides and were told they are in the other bag. Total lie. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I would give 0 stars if I could. Went in there to get 2 veg chop chops to go and when I got home they FORGOT to put beans in it. That's a key ingredient since there's no chicken!! When I got home and noticed I called and spoke to the manager who said she would give me 49 cents back because that's how much a side of beans cost or told me to drive back to the store right away for a refund when I live 30 mins away. She was very rude and didn't care about how her employee clearly messed up our order and instead insisted it's MY FAULT for not making sure. When it is clearly listed in the menu that beans are a part of the order. So now I'm left with rice, tomatoes, and lettuce to eat!!! Never going back to this chicken kitchen again. This place is ridiculous! Nothing like Chicken Kitchen's use to be. They charge $5.99 for 1/4 of a chicken breast cut in pieces. The employees mainly the female manager attitude is terrible.
