    2 Piece Chicken (Your Choice)

I tried Chicken Express at lunch through the drive thru. The person on the intercom greeted me right away as I glanced over the menu. They have your typical fried chicken and tenders menu with a variety of fries. After reading over a few reviews I had already decided on a 2 piece white meat with fries and a biscuit. The service was fairly quick but the food was good! My chicken was crispy and flavorful. The biscuit while small was tasty. I'll be back, as this restaurant offers better chicken than most of the fast food joints on Potranco.

Absolutely love this place. I tried it once while out working in kerrville and was immediately hooked! The food is always so fresh and flavorful. I really don't know how they manage to keep things so fresh with a giant menu. It's honestly astounding. The inside is very very clean, immaculate. It's super brand new still so that may be why (hopefully it stays this way). The staff always greets you when coming in and it feels welcoming yes they had a slip up and gave both spicy tenders when I asked for one regular one spicy but that was a quick fix and a minor kink. I wouldn't hold back on trying it. Oh yeah they do tender Tuesday as well! But for $24 you get 15 tenders and 2 sides!

Love that I can get fried chicken till 10pm! And it tastes so good not super greasy even though I know it's new to the neighborhood but loving the biscuits ! They had a full rack when we came in. Mac and cheese could be better but the fries and buiscuts made the chicken worth it!

The mozzarella sticks aren't actually too bad, very surprising

We were one of the firsts to try the new place. I have a love for Chicken Express I developed working in the San Marcos and Austin area. It was cheap, gave you large portions, and the wait was never long. I'm so happy it's the same. To me, this is the best FAST FOOD chicken. So my 5 is against other FAST FOOD chicken places. Please don't mistake me saying it's the best period. There are several places in town that have mind blowing chicken, but those are places that are not cheap nor meant to be fast food. The chicken is never too dry, and the breading is just right. The sides are maybe even better for us. Especially the corn nuggets(my fav!), fried pickles and poppers. The fries and regular biscuits are meh, stick to the rolls which are freaking amazing! Get mixed, trust me. Those are about the only gripes we had. The staff was amazing and the manger was very friendly! We are coming back!

    Chicken Express - Potranco

Craving some chicken driving down the main drag our side of the city (Potranco Road) and hankering something quick and fulfilling. After driving past the new Chicken Express countless times, my wife and I noticed they finally opened up shop so we quickly pulled into the parking lot and made our arrival. We are no strangers to Chicken Express so once we saw them building one nearby we were so excited! Upon entering, has a Texan country fried chicken feel atmosphere appearance to the place however new is nice and the restaurant was not full at all and the dining room was very clean. The cashier quickly greeted us to take our order and we placed and made our order accordingly. After about 5 minutes, the food came out and we were on our way to crispy golden tenders paired well with the creamy gravy (I added seridepidy) for more flavor, crispy crinkle fries and soft buttery roll. Grab some of their sweet tea and you'll be all set! Overall, great food, excellent service and good crispy perfectly fried goodness, I will be sure to return to Chicken Express!

I'm guessing once the initial rush dies down, the experience might feel a bit more relaxed. When I first walked in, there was a slight unpleasant smell, kind of like body odor, which wasn't the best first impression. That said, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Even though I ordered through the kiosk (which was easy and straightforward to use), employees still checked in to see if I needed anything. After placing my order, it took about 10-15 minutes to get my food, which felt reasonable considering how crowded it was. I decided to sit outside since it was a nice day, and they do have both indoor and outdoor seating options. As for the food--portions are definitely generous. I ordered two sliders (mild spice level) and a salad. The sliders had thick pieces of chicken, and while they were filling, the chicken itself was a bit too thick for my liking and didn't have much flavor beyond the spicy seasoning on the outside. On the positive side, the sauce on the sliders was really good. The salad was also a standout--I genuinely enjoyed it. The fries were another highlight: fresh, crispy, and paired well with the sauce. Overall, this visit felt a bit hit-or-miss, possibly because of how busy things were. I'm willing to give it another try down the line to see if the experience improves once things settle. If you're curious, it's worth checking out for yourself.

The team working at that time, especially the two employees taking orders outside, were absolutely phenomenal. They were professional, patient, and incredibly courteous. In the past, I've felt hurried at other locations, including Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, 10938 Culebra Rd, so this level of attentiveness truly made a difference. Their positive energy was contagious and genuinely uplifting. It's clear they take pride in their work and care about creating a great customer experience. The atmosphere they created was welcoming, efficient, and upbeat, exactly what great service should feel like. This team represents the brand exceptionally well. Eat the chicken by itself, and tell me it's amazing. You can't because it's not. It's bland. The fries the same, dip them in the sauce, great, no sauce, meh! The toast is great though! Heck go get some strips from Popeyes, then buy sauce at heb or Walmart.
