Part 8 - After watching Good Mythical Morning (GMM) with Rhett and Link as they did a blind taste test of chicken tenders. The tender taste test quest continues! Today I ordered the number 1 4pc Express Tenders for $7.39, which comes with fries, biscuit, and gravy. Let's talk about them tenders! Tenders: Moistness - 10 Seasoning - 9 Crunch - 11* Overall - 10 The crunch was out of this world! Two tenders were slightly under seasoned but the other two were perfect, so I had to dock a point for that but based on the two that were seasoned - they were seasoned perfectly and the gravy only enhanced the flavors. The tips of the tenders had a nice light crispy golden coating that has put everyone to shame. They were hot and juicy and delicious. I'm in tender heaven! The crunch was on a different level. They broke my scale and I'm totally okay with that. The fries were light and crispy and tasted like mashed potatoes when you dipped them in gravy. It was so awesome. Perfectly seasoned. The biscuit was a bonus (you basically get an order of biscuits and gravy with your chicken) and it was dang good. Light, buttery, fluffy, crispy crusty, and not dry at all. The gravy was great! Not floury, not uncooked milky but seasoned well balanced between pepper and salt and perfect for the tenders This place should be packed if they can keep it consistently good like this and I hope they do because I will be back! read more

My order was not right and the gizzards were not cooked still bloody in the service was just poor. Nobody wanted to talk to you. Everyone blame it on you. Sorry this place I've ever been. read more

Over 60 dollars and no customers yet they left out all the fish and 16 hush puppies. They pack it all in a little bag so it is a mess and hassle to pull out and check. I will not be returning especially when the food is so expensive. read more

Manager there is horrible and they got my order wrong,Food was missing and then he argued with me about fixing it and giving me a large for my inconvenience. I see now why they only had two customers and when I went, there was no one in the drive-through or inside, so I'm not sure how they even got my order wrong HORRIBLE customer service. Don't waste your money quality sucks and cost too high! read more

Best fry chicken in all norman super nice people will recomend 10/10 fast service and they even add a extra chicken strip!

Too expensive. Got 6 pc leg-thigh combo of crispy chicken at Homeland on Lindsey for $5 on Monday. Can get 10 BBQ legs for $5 on Wednesday. Other specials. Great deli. What do they know about business that Chicken Express doesn't??? read more

Good and fast service from the man running the drive through. Food was great too! My favorite chicken place in Norman.

amazing customer service this morning! everyone was smiling and kind. Katherine was very pleasant at the register!

been comin here trying to like it because ive had some good chicken a couple times, but the last few times my chicken was some nasty old stale chicken that was barley edible, did not feel like going to drive all the way back, complete waste of gas and my money on not edible food read more

my brother & i came around 7:40ish. the best customer service i have received at a fast food joint. outstanding food, everything was so fresh and worth every dollar. the front guy who took our order was so patient and respectful. beyond pleased of this location! thank you! read more

Good food, hot, fast, and professional. Guy at the register was enormously helpful and friendly even with a tough order. Recommended.

Don't go. Just don't. I asked the owner why one day I get fresh local produce fried up perfect and the next I get pre-frozen over priced wing drummets? Because we have an issue with our Distributor. Huh? Dude... if the franchise chooses your distributor. Destroys your success. They are a shell distributor like GodFathers Pizza. So no... order your fried chicken ahead. Go somewhere else. But please. Help this man get a reality check By not buying in... read more

Food is fine enough. Service, simple as theirs is, at this location, at least, is lacking. As are their menu choices. I can get one piece, or 16?? I blame Biden, some how read more

There's never high expectations for fast food restaurants but I want to give a shoutout to my man Erwin, give this man a raise!!! He was very patient when I was ordering, made sure my order was on point, and always had a smile. I know it isn't much but he made my day :) this will be my go to Chicken Express! read more

QUALITY CONTROL. Chicken breast, thighs, and roll were very overcooked and dry. My meal tasted nothing like my local Chicken Express in Edmond. Changing my review to 1 star. Just waited 35 minutes in line....and I was in the front of the line for most of my wait. After 30 minutes the cashier leans out of the window and asks, "now what are you waiting on?" read more

I live on the east side of Norman so there aren't many options for restaurants. EVERY TIME WE GO TO THIS LOCATION we have to go back to get the rest of our order. The food is good but terrible customer service. It's also a wait on chicken no matter what time of day you go. The last 3 times they either don't give us the correct amount of chicken or we are missing sides. read more

The service is incredibly horrible! I ordered 2 individual meals at the drive through, there was 1 car ahead of me, after 28 minutes I went inside to get a refund. A very obese woman w/pinkish hair wanted to argue w/me about how long it was. She was borderline belligerent. I had to ask twice for the refund receipt? The service here is bad because the employees are horribly lazy!!! read more

We stopped by Chicken E while in Norman today with the family and ordered in the Drive Thru. I'm a big fan of the hot wings at Chicken E and they have become my main order. So I was really looking forward to the mouthwatering taste of 6 piping hot Chicken Wings, my son decided to join in ordering him some too, but that's not what we got. We ordered 5 combos and I don't think one of them was correct. My chicken wings came out as around 50 bite sized boneless bites, as did my sons. Those that ordered mozzarella sticks got fries and those that ordered biscuits either got rolls or nothing at all. No straws were included in the order either. On the other hand, the food was good, I'm currently dying of thirst, but the food tasted good as always. I was sure looking forward to ripping chicken off a bone. 2 Stars for Chicken E today! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, the doors are closed due to CoronaVirus, which I completely understand... I didn't want to go in to begin with. So I have two separate orders that I wanted to make but the drive-thru dude told me that they are unable to do that through the drive-thru. Now does this makes sense?? Considering their doors are closed for dining in??? No, absolutely not. So what I will be doing is going around for a second time to make my separate order. And yes that means waiting in the line AGAIN. If you thought the line was quick it took 30 minutes with 4 cars... Chick-Fil-a would NEVER!!! Not to mention they were out of Dr.Pepper for the night at 5 PM. Also.... they forgot sauces, when I specifically asked for some. Good thing I will be going through the drive-thru a second time. read more

Good food, expensive if on Route 66 because of freeway access. Over all. I would go again

I ordered 10/28/2021 at approximately 7:17pm. The order ended up being wrong; they didn't include mashed potatoes when I ordered them. The chicken tenders were under cooked and the rolls were not proofed enough and doughy inside; the rolls were a bit too dark. I was disappointed because the order has always been correct and the food was great. Don't know what happened this time. There was only 1 car in front of me and 1 behind this time. read more

Chicken Express how I miss you so. Now that I am living across town I don't get to go here as often as I would like. I was sitting at home and craving chicken for football Saturday so I came up with a reason to drive across town and went to chicken express. All of their sides are good but I went with fries cause I think their French fries are some of the best. The #2 meal with 7 tenders is my go to whenever I am there. The food and service was as good as it always is. This place is consistent and churns out quality visit after quality visit. Lastly, no visit is complete without picking up a gallon of their sweet tea. Easily one of the best chicken places in Norman and head and shoulders better than church's next door. read more

When I crave fried chicken this is the place to get it. Fast and hot. Chicken not dry but perfectly juicy under a crunchy fried batter.

Literally the worst Chicken Express I've ever been to. Ordered at 3:50 and didn't receive my food until 4:14. I was the only car in the drive thru line. Not to mention two of the workers were just loitering outside while ONE GUY was working drive thru and the inside.Chicken Tenders read more

Three times in a row this place has gotten my order Wrong! I am tired of dealing with their 2-digit-IQ employees. In the future, I will either drive to Church's Chicken in Moore or order from Church's Chicken on Grubhub. Used to really like this place, but they have really cheapened the orders (paid extra for 3 thighs and got leg, thigh, wing) and have gone drastically downhill. read more

Not even one star worthy. Slow and horrible service. Employees are annoyed you're even there. Chicken served cold on inside. Rolls not cooked through and still doughy. Dangerous to all consumers! When called to speak to manager she didn't even apologize. Not even worth the risk to try. read more

I took the drive thru. Terrible service, the tone of the lady irritates me. You can tell she is bipolar. It makes me sad to see people like this run chicken express. The food was cold and poorly prepared. The people there look like they want to leave and do as little as possible. read more

This place is not even a 1 star. I thought the new management would change things but long wait times and burnt food still pout out of its windows. Their only fortune was that churches didn't pay their taxes and people are too lazy to make their own sweet tea. I love chicken express but take the time to drive to moore if you want it. This place is a joke. read more

Chicken Express - Where my last order ended up because it was burnt. 17 dollars wasted. And no apologies. - Southern Near Me - Norman, Oklahoma

They take too long at the drive through. More than 15 mins with only two cars ahead of us. They missed stuff we ordered where we had to rejoin the line. They don't care about customers. read more

Worst service ever!! The 3 times I have gone to the drive through my order has been incorrect. When I bring it to their attention they ALWAYS make an excuse, never apologize and I have to tell them how to make it right then they act like I'm an idiot for bringing it to their attention. Don't go here!!!!! read more

Customer service sucks. Staff are impatient and look miserable. I probably wouldn't be happy working at fast food either but they should at least try. No straws with our drinks. Mac and cheese was nasty nasty. Paid extra for sauce which is weird because our order was chicken strips but even more concerning is not only the extra hidden charge but they gave me incorrect sauces. I asked for spicy ranch and was given regular ranch. No attention to detail so check your order and honestly why even go here when every other chicken place is better. This was my second time ever at chicken express and will be my last. read more

In Norman, Oklahoma picking up a order for postmates. I had 2 cars ahead of me, and a long line behind me. I finally get to the window to pick up the order to find out I need to pull up and wait. I watched about 3 cars behind me get their order and leave. I tried to enter the store to find out where was the order I needed to delivery. The doors were lock. Go figure, I do not eat at this place because the people who work here are Rude. Just to let you know. I have been in the foodsevice for over 20years. I have been a RMG of hugh business. This is not how you treat customer. I will be letting people know. This place to be closed. read more

This place reminds me of Grandy's in a way with their food choices. The chicken isn't bad at all. I think it's better than the Church's Chicken they're next door to. I usually get the 6 pieces chicken liver combo, which they cook really well. They don't worry too much about presentation. Most of the time they throw your chicken pieces on top of the sides you've ordered. Also their mash potatoes and gravy kind of suck. The cup you get is like 10% mash potato and 90% white gravy. Overall not a bad grab and go when you're craving some CHICKEN! read more

Good service but good was cold and hard. The biscuits were flat and not a full serving of mashed potatoes. Very disappointed to have this to offer to friends when they came for lunch. Not worth the price. read more
