I really miss Bushes and this is a subsidiary of it. Bushes in my opinion is waaaaay better. But I love the serendipity both regular and spicy. Unfortunately, this place is not the place to get quality chicken. Everyone working there is under the age of 18 and very laid back and unprofessional. My fries were super cold and hard as rocks, as well as my boyfriend's. Although I enjoy the chicken I will definitely not be returning to this particular location. read more

all the employees smoke on the job and so does the manager i saw it at the trashcan the manager also gives attutide and started yelling at my friend for no reason 10/10 don't recomend read more

Take out/drive through service is usually good but have had some issues with my order being confused. Even though the ticket printed on the box was correct, the contents didn't match. The food is usually excellent but sometimes the napkins and cutlery are forgotten. I will continue to use them as I like their food even if there are minor annoyances. read more

If I could give negative stats, it would be more appropriate. Went through the drive through and ordered chicken liver, sweet tea, and the side was the corn nuggets. I also add a side order of okra. When I got home I opened the bag to find nothing was right. The Tea wasn't even sweet. I did add a picture of the food I received. I bet somebody is going to explode when they get chicken livers instead of chicken breast. I tried to call 5 times and nobody answered. On the sixth call, the answer Inger machine answered and go an access code. Seriously!!! I get that you might be busy, but I will never eat at any Chicken Express again. After submitting the review, the finally answered. Now I have to drive across town....... This sucks! read more

Chicken Express - This is not the chicken livers I ordered, or the sides. BIG FAT ZERO!!!!! - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

I have gotten fish dinners twice early into the lunch hour and it was cold and dry like it had been left over from the evening before and refrigerated during the night. You should never have left over fried food refrigerated and served the next day. Went through the drive through Throw it out. read more

You have GOT to be kidding me with the reduced dining room hours. Closing the dining room ANY day at 5 pm is ridiculous, but especially on Fridays and weekends. So you force us to wait in the slowest drive thru line in all of Lubbock Texas to be greeted with terrible customer service (which is probably from all the people yelling at you for not opening your dining room) and an order that is only 7 times out of 10 made correctly because your staff is trying to rush through to complete orders. "Not enough staff" isn't a good excuse. Hire more people. They're out there. Pull your head out of your butt and hire them. Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I am so tired of fast food workers not knowing how to do the simplest things. I've worked in food service so I know how easy it is to do your job. IT IS NOT HARD TO PUT EVERYTHING THATS NEEDED INTO THE BOX. How hard is it to put the gravy the box i'm disappointed. my favorite store and they always have mess ups. i order some extra boom IM MISSING SOMETHING. Adding an extra item doesn't mean take something else out but that seems to be y'all's deal. YALL SUCK read more

There's nothing "express" about chicken express. Probably spent over thirty minutes in the drive thru.

Why would this location have inside dining closed at mid day when there are four competitors within a quarter mile who offer inside dining. There is no sign or other indication that the inside dining is closed until you park, get out of the car and yank on their locked door and then see all the chairs upside down on the tables. I really USED TO ENJOY this brand, but this looks like a dying and non competitive business to me. read more

This location has the most rude employees that I have ever come across, they won't let you finish your order before they start saying anything else, and you add another item and they say anything else , are you done and finally when I was fed up I told him you know what cancel my order cause your just being rude all he had to say was "ok". It doesn't seem like management cares either. Sorry I won't be returning and will let everyone know not to go to this location. From a chicken lover. read more

Terrible service and leadership. Workers standing around and place is not wiped down or cleaned. Took 12 minutes to get an order.

absolutsly no service for dine in customers. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. We left and went somewhere else. Doesn't even deserve one star read more

If you got a chicken express on 82nd be prepared to wait at least 30 to 45 minutes before you can order at the window

Unbelievable that this place is still only drive through, covid is not an excuse anymore and this is extremely inconvenient and inconsiderate to force customers to go through the drive through. Disappointed read more

By far the worse chicken express in town. Constantly get your order wrong, then you either have get back in line and wait or just deal with it after you don't get what you paid for. I even tried calling but couldn't get anyone to answer, tried going in but of course they don't have their dining room open past 5. I'm not going to get back in line for what I was already waiting 10 minutes for. How do they get so many orders wrong if they only have to deal with the drive thru most of the time?! This location is closest to me but I'd rather drive all the way down 82nd nearly out of town to get to a better location. read more

Absolutely terrible service. This place used to be a very good fast food restaurant, things have definitely changed.

Food tastes good-IF YOU'RE GIVEN WHAT YOU ORDER. SERVICE-repeated order twice at drive up window-at pick up order repeated was incorrect and then when arrived home, part of order missing. Too far to return to correct. Guess everyone better check their order before departing read more

$70 for chicken and biscuits!! I was planning on picking up some chicken at Untied Supermarket Deli this Sunday, didn't realize they were closed. So off to Chicken Express I went. A 16 piece (chicken & biscuits) and a 15 piece tenders was $70!!! And it was not even that good. The deli's chicken is WAY better. Lesson learned. read more

This place has really gone down in presentation and everything else. I found this green part on my chicken and they even forgot my condiments i asked for. read more

Chicken Express - I don't know what this is but it was in my chicken tender as well as hard chuy bites. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

This is the WORST experience I have ever had at chicken express. The waiting wasn't even the bad part, it was the fact that every single thing about my order was wrong when the ticket was printed correctly and stuck to the box. How hard is it to just look and see what goes in it. And this wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't $25 for 2 meals, that's a bit pricey for chicken in my opinion if I am paying you that much for 4 chicken strips I should be able to get everything I not only ordered but paid for. read more

A two-piece combo meal for just under $15. The breast was so tough and stringy it was not edible. For the price and quality, that's my last trip to chicken express. read more

The best chicken that I have had in awhile. The fried chicken was lightly battered and seasoned properly . It was fried perfectly that the chicken was moist and juicy. My sides were okra and mac and cheese, for a nice touch. read more

I didn't know Chicken Express had spicy chicken tenders. Whoeee!!! I'm so very happy about that. I got a 7 piece combo and those puppies were cooked just how I like them..crispy and tanned. Normally or rather when I used to come here, which has been some years, they would be softly fried and very pale in color. The spiciness comes through. I also got a couple of legs and some jalapeños and those were delicious too. This meal hit all my spots of food happiness. Now I just need for the next time I go for them to repeat this culinary joy. Remember you can't go in. Just use the drive through. Hopefully your meal will be as great as mine was. Good luck! read more

Chicken Express 4 piece chicken dinner was sooo tasty and fresh. Biscuit was fresh too. All food was hot and well prepared. Dining room is still closed but drive through was quick. Great job! read more

Terrible customer service. When we pulled in we asked if it would be a long wait because we had somewhere to be, she said "there's only a few in front of you" which we could see the 5 cars before us, we just wanted an estimated time. Ordered and ended up leaving after waiting 30 minutes and the line moved one car. So much for fast food! But after reading the other reviews I'm definitely not surprised and I think we dodged a bullet with the dried up chicken and old soggy catfish. read more

Disappointed, spent 25 min waiting in long line to get dry and old chicken strips, shriveled up over heated dry rolls, mashed potatoes not properly mixed, and out dated cole slaw that tasted and smelled vinegary. Worst meal I've had in a while. read more

Tried fish for first time. Cold and very over cooked. Not good . Tenders are always good

This place used to be so good and consistent on service. Now it has gotten so bad I have to check my food before I leave the drive through window to make sure they got it right. I went this evening because I was craving some gizzards and I should of went somewhere else. I'm sorry but the guy working the drive through window needs to go. All the employees inside were goofing off while the line had a good 20 minute wait. Sorry but I will never go here again. read more

Two pieces of fish had sat too long in the grease, like eating card board just poor fish, will not return

Eaten catfish here for years, crispy & good tasting. Alas, things have changed. 20 minute wait for fast food. The catfish? Like it was cooked yesterday1.. not crispy, flimsy and tasted of bbq sauce. Not a taste mix I prefer. Jalapeño were good and fries were good. My wife had chicken, just ok. We'll pass next time. read more

Not express, so slow!!!! 45 min wait through the drive thru (last 2 times), won't be going back.

GARBAGE CHICKEN. Sure they give you extra strips, but even then I still only ate about 2 strips worth b/c they were all so tough and old and chewy, just had to pick through them for some good parts. $37 for my husband and I, to basically enjoy some fries and sweet tea. Even the biscuits were burnt. With this economy, it sucks even worse when you get bad quality food, not like you can afford to go buy something else after spending an arm and a leg on crap, not to mention the fact that you already wasted 30 minutes driving to and from, and another 20 minutes waiting in line. It used to be so good, and maybe even worth the wait, but now they're just a crappy food chain who doesn't care like everywhere else, you can tell the workers there don't give af either. And any business who has the audacity to charge those prices, should be making sure the food quality is ON POINT - don't waste your time and money on this place. read more

I had never had chicken express before. My daughter and I picked up a family meal on Thursday. The line in the drive thru was long, but my daughter assured me it would be worth the wait. Wow... she was right! It was the best chicken strips I have had in a long time. The fried okra and fries were so crispy and fresh. The young lady (I believe her name was Dani) who attended to us at the drive thru was super sweet. I appreciate how friendly and nice she was, especially since they were so busy. I know a lot of places are having a hard time finding good employees right now, and sometimes the quality is lacking due to restaurants being short handed, so it's awesome when you get good food and good service. Chicken express delivered on both. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

My family and I decided that Chicken E was the option on 08/08/2020 with my ticket time being 7:41pm. The line extended around the building and into the center lane of 82nd street. after finally making it to the order window which took about 25 minutes I placed our order. 2 of the meals had specific requests of chicken legs and I was told that would be a 20 minute wait for which I replied with, no worries since we had already been waiting 25 minutes. we finally reach the window, pay and are asked to pull into an empty parking spot. I am assuming the legs still are not done, but fresh is the excitement at this point. We then arrive home just to find that the legs are a couple of only things that were fresh. the 9 piece gizzard meal was cold and chewy. The 4 piece spicy tenders meal and fries also cold and chewy. The positive I guess is they gave us 6 tenders, but I would have to assume they were just trying to get rid of them since they were old and cold. I didn't call, nor did i go back to the location because as I indicated before they were busy and I opted to call today, receipt in hand and explain my disappointment only to be told by an Assistant Manager Dolores that there is nothing that can be done because policy indicates and requires the food to be brought back. I then asked for a corporate number and she indicated there isn't one. I then asked for an area Manager and she shares they are not allowed to share that individuals name or phone number. The moral of the story, choose any of the countless other offerings in a block radius. Chickfila, Whataburger, Buffalo Wild Wings, Canes, Popeyes, KFC or Slim Chickens. oh and by the way I am from Lubbock, TX, not sure why it indicates Cali. read more

Ever since they have closed the dining room due to covid they have gone downhill! The wait for the drive-thru is out I hand! My visit tonight took 45 minutes for me to receive the wrong order and room temperature chicken. They appeared to have plenty of staff working, so that can not be their excuse! Several people left but my wife was craving Okra so I waited it out!!!! Thankfully I checked my order because they originally did not give me the correct order. $10 and I waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru for a 4 piece Chicken strip meal?!?! read more

Every time we come to this chicken express we have to wait a minimum of 15-20 min. And was just there getting drinks. It's a fast food place why do you have to wait that long for drinks!! Hate this place and will go elsewhere. If your just getting drinks they need to bring them to your vehicle and not make you wait that long. We actually got out of line and left read more

For years my family has frequented chicken express for take-out for parties at my parents' house. They have super good.... everything. Usually we order the chicken strips which are all white meat, and tons of sides - mashed potatoes, gravy, fried okra, and they have these little fried corn fritters that are amazing. Yea, basically don't plan to come here unless you're planning on fried, fried, and more fried. But a yummy indulgence occasionally nonetheless. read more

Most of the tables were filthy! That is such a turn off for me. We did find a table that was fairly decent. The food was hit or miss. The fried okra and mac and cheese were good. Got two fish filets, one was okay, the other was not cooked all the way, so I didn't eat it. My mom got chicken and loved it. I'm not a big chicken fan, so that is why I ordered fish. The tables were such a turn off for me that I will not return. There were at least three people working and they were not that busy, so there didn't appear to be any reason why someone could not come out and clean the dining area. read more
