Take out/drive through service is usually good but have had some issues with my order being confused. Even though the ticket printed on the box was correct, the contents didn't match. If I could give negative stats, it would be more appropriate. Went through the drive through and ordered chicken liver, sweet tea, and the side was the corn nuggets. I also add a side order of okra. When I got home I opened the bag to find nothing was right. The Tea wasn't even sweet. I did add a picture of the food I received. I bet somebody is going to explode when they get chicken livers instead of chicken breast. I tried to call 5 times and nobody answered. You have GOT to be kidding me with the reduced dining room hours. Closing the dining room ANY day at 5 pm is ridiculous, but especially on Fridays and weekends. So you force us to wait in the slowest drive thru line in all of Lubbock Texas to be greeted with terrible customer service (which is probably from all the people yelling at you for not opening your dining room) and an order that is only 7 times out of 10 made correctly because your staff is trying to rush through to complete orders. "Not enough staff" isn't a good excuse. Hire more people. They're out there. Pull your head out of your butt and hire them. Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Why would this location have inside dining closed at mid day when there are four competitors within a quarter mile who offer inside dining. There is no sign or other indication that the inside dining is closed until you park, get out of the car and yank on their locked door and then see all the chairs upside down on the tables. This location has the most rude employees that I have ever come across, they won't let you finish your order before they start saying anything else, and you add another item and they say anything else , are you done and finally when I was fed up I told him you know what cancel my order cause your just being rude all he had to say was "ok". By far the worse chicken express in town. Constantly get your order wrong, then you either have get back in line and wait or just deal with it after you don't get what you paid for. I even tried calling but couldn't get anyone to answer, tried going in but of course they don't have their dining room open past 5. I'm not going to get back in line for what I was already waiting 10 minutes for. How do they get so many orders wrong if they only have to deal with the drive thru most of the time?! This is the WORST experience I have ever had at chicken express. The waiting wasn't even the bad part, it was the fact that every single thing about my order was wrong when the ticket was printed correctly and stuck to the box. How hard is it to just look and see what goes in it. I didn't know Chicken Express had spicy chicken tenders. Whoeee!!! I'm so very happy about that. I got a 7 piece combo and those puppies were cooked just how I like them..crispy and tanned. Normally or rather when I used to come here, which has been some years, they would be softly fried and very pale in color. The spiciness comes through. I also got a couple of legs and some jalapeños and those were delicious too. This meal hit all my spots of food happiness. Now I just need for the next time I go for them to repeat this culinary joy. GARBAGE CHICKEN. Sure they give you extra strips, but even then I still only ate about 2 strips worth b/c they were all so tough and old and chewy, just had to pick through them for some good parts. $37 for my husband and I, to basically enjoy some fries and sweet tea. Even the biscuits were burnt. With this economy, it sucks even worse when you get bad quality food, not like you can afford to go buy something else after spending an arm and a leg on crap, not to mention the fact that you already wasted 30 minutes driving to and from, and another 20 minutes waiting in line. I had never had chicken express before. My daughter and I picked up a family meal on Thursday. The line in the drive thru was long, but my daughter assured me it would be worth the wait. Wow... she was right! It was the best chicken strips I have had in a long time. The fried okra and fries were so crispy and fresh. The young lady (I believe her name was Dani) who attended to us at the drive thru was super sweet. I appreciate how friendly and nice she was, especially since they were so busy. I know a lot of places are having a hard time finding good employees right now, and sometimes the quality is lacking due to restaurants being short handed, so it's awesome when you get good food and good service. My family and I decided that Chicken E was the option on 08/08/2020 with my ticket time being 7:41pm. The line extended around the building and into the center lane of 82nd street. after finally making it to the order window which took about 25 minutes I placed our order. 2 of the meals had specific requests of chicken legs and I was told that would be a 20 minute wait for which I replied with, no worries since we had already been waiting 25 minutes. we finally reach the window, pay and are asked to pull into an empty parking spot. I am assuming the legs still are not done, but fresh is the excitement at this point. We then arrive home just to find that the legs are a couple of only things that were fresh. the 9 piece gizzard meal was cold and chewy. The 4 piece spicy tenders meal and fries also cold and chewy. The positive I guess is they gave us 6 tenders, but I would have to assume they were just trying to get rid of them since they were old and cold. I didn't call, nor did i go back to the location because as I indicated before they were busy and I opted to call today, receipt in hand and explain my disappointment only to be told by an Assistant Manager Dolores that there is nothing that can be done because policy indicates and requires the food to be brought back. I then asked for a corporate number and she indicated there isn't one. I then asked for an area Manager and she shares they are not allowed to share that individuals name or phone number. The moral of the story, choose any of the countless other offerings in a block radius. My visit tonight took 45 minutes for me to receive the wrong order and room temperature chicken. They appeared to have plenty of staff working, so that can not be their excuse! Most of the tables were filthy! That is such a turn off for me. We did find a table that was fairly decent. The food was hit or miss. The fried okra and mac and cheese were good. Got two fish filets, one was okay, the other was not cooked all the way, so I didn't eat it. My mom got chicken and loved it. I'm not a big chicken fan, so that is why I ordered fish. The tables were such a turn off for me that I will not return. There were at least three people working and they were not that busy, so there didn't appear to be any reason why someone could not come out and clean the dining area. read more

For years my family has frequented chicken express for take-out for parties at my parents' house. They have super good.... everything. Usually we order the chicken strips which are all white meat, and tons of sides - mashed potatoes, gravy, fried okra, and they have these little fried corn fritters that are amazing. Worst service ever. They completely got our order wrong. We tried calling back and there number is disconnected. Called another location they were just as rude when I asked for a home office number. Apparently there isn't a home office or a way to get ahold of the franchise owner. I guess they dont care or want to hear from customer. We spent 66.00 just to be disappointed with our meal wrong. When I finally got ahold of someone and I asked i they could get a refund for the food I was missing. I was told they couldnt give me a refund.They said they could give me a gift card. I told them I would not be coming back to order anything from any of there locations. I had to go back up there and finally get a refund.
