I don't understand this decision (I'm sure it was corporate) but never been a roll guy and I'm sure they were pre made so don't understand the money or time saved will be worth the potential business lost over it.... When we arrived and ordered 12 pieces of dark meat, they said they would have to cook it and it would take a little bit. We said we would be happy to wait.. my husband grabbed a piece of chicken that was perfectly cooked however, mine was wrong after I had eaten over half getting to the middle there was blood. I discreetly got the lady that took our order to look at it and she said oh I am so sorry. Let me get my supervisor.. the supervisor came there and denied it. He said it was a vein that hadn't got drained well. (whatever the heck is that) OK so that means I ate a raw blood vein. I am a cook and this chicken piece was undercooked . Needless to say my appetite was ruined and I did not eat anymore. It would've felt much better if the supervisor would have at minimum and owned the mistake of undercooked chicken. He did ask if we would like the rest of our chicken put back in the fryer for a little bit.. lol we said no we took the chicken with us and I will pop it in the oven tomorrow. We really like the fried gizzards. The coating is light and crispy. I've ordered them several times, and they are pretty consistent. The only negative is that we'd prefer more spices in the coating. It's a little on the bland side, otherwise very good. read more

Quick service it's clear they have a well oiled machine as all the workers were working hard and pumping out that food in a quick efficient way. Wish we had on in Oregon where we live. This Chicken Express is one of my favorite locations, the best one being in Sanger, Texas. Came in around lunch time prepared to purchase 2 number 1's(4 piece tender meal) for my husband and I and walked out with the Tuesday special, which is 15 tenders and 6 rolls for $13.99! Man was it delicious! We got half spicy and half regular tenders and they were piping hot. Sat in their parking lot and ate until our hearts were content, lol. The meal also comes with a 16oz cup of gravy which is a must for dipping, and we shared a large sweet tea. The sweet tea is delicious and is nice to have after eating one of those BIG, juicy jalapeño peppers! If you are ever In Durant, OK be sure to drop by and get some delicious tenders. I got 1/2&1/2 tea and cheese sticks for $2. Price is fair. But the tea was kinda watered down and cheese sticks tasted like chicken oil. Not Good! You don't fry your side items in same oil as chicken. You should have a separate fryer for the cheese sticks, okra, ff s or anything but chicken. Chicken should be in dedicated fryers! I went here earlier the service was great and the people were lovely! However, there was this one worker, I'm not sure of her name. She was blonde and wearing a red shirt. I'm not trying to be rude, but she smelled really bad and it caused me to want to leave quickly. Like it was not good AT ALL. Workers should always have good hygiene. I love good fried chicken but this was the greasiest I have ever eaten. You could see the grease puddles on the meat of the chicken. Even the corn on the cob tasted too greasy. A little of butter would have been fine. This is the second time I have tried eating Chicken Express food and was greasy on the first visit too. I was hoping it would be different the second time. Went to get some chicken tenders. While they were good, they are now charging for the dippnig sauce. No other drive throughs are. As far as my drink, after I drank it, the cup is still full of ice, would have been nice to have the drink I paid for instead of filling the cup up with a bunch of ice. Posting this for the pure comedy that us some employees stupidity. I mean awesome day for me but sucks for the business. I went through the drive thru for a 3 piece ( 2 legs and a wing ) and some fried pickles/cheddar poppers and somehow ended up with not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 of the 2 piece tenders and a whole other 2 piece chicken meal. Tried to do the honorable thing and hand it back like, this doesn't belong to me lol. But apparently they can't take it back even tho I didn't touch any of it. I mean I'm not gonna complain about getting basically 4 meals free but it's clear to me after this 2nd visit ever, these employees are running a round with their heads in a southern location. First time I went this young kid with reflecting suspenders tried telling me the ticket I had in my hand said 2 piece cause he checked, when in fact it said 3 piece and yet I still had to go inside to get the 3rd piece that I paid for. Holy God that was fast! Stopped by on the way from Texas to IL about seven in the evening. The place was jumping with a drive thru line around the building. My wife ordered a two piece chicken dinner and I had the fried livers with some catfish. After we ordered I took two steps to the left to grab some napkins and find a seat. I walked to a booth close by and my food was on the table before my butt was in the seat. It was hot, it was tasty. And I think the guy running the KFC across the street was looking out the window and pouting a little bit. This place isn't fancy by any means. It has a little bit of a soul food vibe. We stopped here last night on the way back from the lake. We bought two chicken strip dinner's and the total was $20. We sat down and they had given us two coleslaw's and no mashed potatoes. I walked up to the counter and told the manager I didn't get my mashed potatoes. She brought me mashed potatoes. She looked at our plates and said oh I gave you two coleslaws. I see you have opened them both. You now owe $1.85 for an extra side. We looked at her incredulously and said we are not paying you for your mistake. She said well you opened them already so I can't serve them again. I said well just leave them here then. It was not our mistake. She again insisted that we pay for the extra coleslaw. I finally told her we are not paying so take it back. She took them back and I hope she threw them in the trash but after talking to her, she probably served them again. This is the wife and I's go to place for hot wings since Main Street BBQ stopped serving theirs. The last three times we've been there has been an error with our food and/or miscommunication with our order. Once it was getting our food and realizing we were short wings on both orders (comes as a 6 piece.) Other incidents are them simply forgetting sides or whether or not to box my food as I always order to go. The facility is always clean and nice, the staff all seem a bit disheveled and unorganized though. Each less than perfect experience could almost always be chalked up to the lack of organization, it seems the employees are too many people occupying a workspace and it seems to void any system of properly getting orders right and out to the customers. The food is never bad as long as you get what you order. I will continue to go back as I have no other options in Durant to eat any quality hot wings. read more
