This was the worst Wendy's we have ever been to. They were quick to take our money and order. Yet it took 35 minutes to finally find out they haven't even started to make our order. We asked for a refund, the old lady working proceeded to apologize, we responded with "it's okay." Her response to that was to get argumentative and say "well is it, is it okay." This was our first time stopping here on the way home from a long road trip and had very hungry kiddos excited about having a frosty. First we were told that the vanilla frosty machine was out and we couldn't have a soda either, as that machine was as out of order. Only choices for this weary traveling family was Lemmonade or Tea... This was just the beginning! My 2 Children both ordered a 6 nugget meal that was on the value menu, but the young cashier insisted that they did not offer that even though it was listed right there on their menu in plain sight. The manager came over and said that he did have it.... I then ordered a bacon cheeseburger meal that she also said was not available... ugh! At this point we should have just left. I know we shouldn't have a high standard of fast food establishments but this was the worst service I've ever received. They were fully staffed, not very busy, and they were all running around behind the counter like chickens with their heads cut off. There was a manager on duty but he could've cared less and look just as confused as everyone else. Orders took forever to come out and even when they did they checked them 5 or 6 times before they would release them. Came 20 minutes before close and instead of just tell us they had already closed down the kitchen they let us put in the full order and then told us they were out of basically anything that would make you not want to order, so my family and I settled as it's the 10th hour on the road. Recently my son and I met my father for lunch at Wendy's Hamburger restaurant in Durant Oklahoma. The line was very long and they only had one register open. When it got down to just one person in front of me, I noticed that the older woman directly in front of me got several orders. I want to first say that none of the workers had any name tags. The girl who was filling her order (I learned later is named Chantel). I would f Chantel spilled both orders of fries on the older woman's tray, and the woman said it was okay. Chantel didn't even offer to get her more fries, even though they were scattered, and dirty, nor did she offer to help the old lady pick up the scattered fries. Then Chantel only filled the lady's cup of chili halfway full. When it was my turn, I told "Chantel" that I hope she fills my cup up higher than the last person's. Chantel told me "they can only fill them so full". Which I replied only half full? Then I placed my order of a burger and chili. Chantel did not offer me onions, crackers, or chili sauce. I had to ask fore everything. Then she only gave me one cracker and one packet of sauce. I asked for more, and she told me that was all they could get. I asked why they could not open another register to help with the long line. And a worker I learned later, whose name is Sherman told me it was broken. Then my son ordered 20 chicken nuggets. Sherman told my son that they only had a few regular ones, and asked if he would accept some regular ones, and the rest spicy. My son said that was fine. They were taking forever to fill our orders, and my dad, who had gotten his food earlier, was waiting and his food was getting cold. I could see Chantel telling what looked to be the manager on duty about me. I wondered why she could not spend more time working on our orders. Then she brought my son his nuggets and spilled them all over his tray! I was thinking that if Chantel would be as careful not spilling people's food as she was being careful not to give people too much food, then maybe customers would actually have a decent experience there, instead of greed and rudeness. My son's nuggets were ice cold, and my food was pretty darned cold too. So I guess my dad was not alone. I have never had to wait on food to be prepared and it still be cold in my life until now. They were out of packets of salt and pepper. All I wanted was pepper, and I asked Sherman if he had any pepper behind the counter. He stared blankly at me and said yes and continued to stand there. I asked if I could have some, He left and returned with a cup of Dr, Pepper... The next Monday I called to complain and got a woman named "Jessica" who claimed to be the new manager, who had "taken over three weeks prior". Strangely enough, I remember Jessica being there for 2 years prior to my new conversation with her, and found her to be very rude then. In fact, I stopped going there for awhile because of her past rudeness. Jessica was immediately extremely rude to me. She was dry, and replied with a sarcastic tone in all of her responses to me. I started tell her about the chili, and I never got to the rest of my complaints because she didn't let me, and was too busy being rude. She told me she had instructed all of her employees to watch the line closely in the Chili cup, and not go above it. I asked her if half full was her instructions, and she told me that I was lying to her. I could not believe my ears. I told her that if she is the reason why the employees behave that way, then there's no hope for improvements. She kept saying that was her policy and if I didn't like it, I did not have to eat there. I asked for her District Manger's name and number. She told me they didn't have one because they were privately owned. She told me I would have to call Wendy's customer service if I had a complaint. So I hung up and called the Wendy's corporate number. While I was talking to corporate, the lady at corporate asked what the employee's names were. So I called Wendy's back from a landline. Sherman answered and pretended not to hear me. But then Jessica got on the phone. I explained that I was on the phone with corporate, and before I could continue, Jessica kept saying "that's fine, that's fine". Then I broke in and told her corporate needed all names involved, Jessica gave me Chantel & Sherman's names. And then Jessica said, "you go ahead and talk to corporate, I'm on the phone with our owner right now"!.. I wondered why I needed to know that. She is a very ignorant and petty person. She was engaging me in some sort of contest of phone calls and reports or our talk. I told Wendy's corporate the story, and was told that they DID have both a DISTRICT MANAGER as well as an Area Manager. So Jessica lied.
