The chicken tenders are good here and you get a good gravy with them better than the dried up chicken nuggets and the rude Mexican manager, Alan-so at McDonalds next door. They also serve you raw filet o fish at McDonalds next door to this place and get mad if you ask for a better one. They can't get it right. You're better off coming here for fried tender golden food cooked right. Lobby is not closed. It's comfortable and clean and better iced tea than the medicine tasting tea at McDonald's. They must not wash their pots at McDonald's. Also not the same tea like years ago. Tastes like they're using a cheaper generic brand at McDonald's now. read more

I have always loved Chicken Express. Been one of my favorite "fast food" chicken spots since i first ever had it in Sanger at that location before they really started expanding across the metroplex. I wouldn't consider it fast food, because it is so fresh, but i would consider it fast since you can order it at the drive-thru speaker box and have your food boxed up & ready by the time you pull around & pay. They seemed short staffed...phone would ring and one lady shouted out for the other two NOT to answer it. Finally one of them came and took my order. My dad seems to eat here once a week. So, I'm guessing he likes the chicken. I'm a vegetarian, so he brings me home the fried okra. Everyone in my family who has eaten here seems to enjoy the chicken, and they keep coming back, so I'll give it 4 stars. I've never been inside the restaurant, so I cannot describe the conditions. If you're a vegetarian like me, the do have sides: fried okra, corn, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, fried pickles, apple pies, gravy, cheese sticks, french fries, corn nuggets, poppers and stuffed jalapenos. I am new to Anna and while the fast food selection is limited, there is enough to satisy the pallet on those days when cooking isn't an option. I visited Chicken Express twice. I only eat wings and Chicken Express tend to have small wings. The first time, because they were small the employee gave me four, however my second vist was different, the wings were even smaller and I ended up pay the same price for three very small wings. My first thought was to call but with yelp and social media, I just decided to post. Most consumers work hard for their money and it isn't fair for businesses to short change people who patronize their business. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! If I could give this place less than one star, I certainly would. This review is lengthy, but worth the read! First, I went through the drive through and ordered two legs, side of fries, and 2 sides of mashed potatoes. Sounds simple right? I proceeded to the window where an ill-mannered lady gave me the price and shoved my food out the window. From there, she snatched my card, slammed the window shut, and opened it back up to return my card without a thank you or a smile. The box was so small, so I figured my two sides of mashed potatoes couldn't have fit in there. I sat patiently waiting for my mashed potatoes when the same ill-mannered lady returns back to the window, and this is how the conversation went: Lady: Uh, Can I help you? Me: Yes, I'm waiting for my 2 sides of mashed potatoes. Lady: You only ordered one. Me: I'm pretty sure I ordered 2. Lady: That'll be $1.93. Me: *reaching for my card* Actually, that's okay. I'll be fine with one. Lady: *slams the window once more* As I drove off, I couldn't help but to think about the poor customer service that had been given. With that being said, before I made it 30 seconds down the road, I called and politely asked for the manager...from there it went down south. Me: Hi, may I speak to the manager please? Matt (manager/co-owner): This the manager, what Can I help you with? Me: May I please get the corporate number from you? Matt (manager/co-owner): We don't have a corporate number, we have owners. The combo meals are a great value and you get to pick your pieces with no upgrade charge. Iced Tea is not super sweet and available in gallon jugs. Always looking forward working around this company, just to stop by to grab some chicken. read more

We have ate at many Chicken Express but I will never return to this one. They are charging for a surcharge for the corona virus and charge for the condiments. They say it's voluntary but they don't tell you till after they have charged your card. Yes they have it on the window but that's no good because they came out to the speaker and got my card. I called and asked about it because I am a truck driver dealing with people from different parts of the country and we don't get a surcharge we don't even get cleaning supplies or hand sanitizer. She got rude with me and said that truck drivers are not as important as fast food workers and we can't even compare our jobs. Really? If fast food shuts down for this virus we have to cook at home but if truck drivers shut down so does the country and they are out of a job. Everything you have has been on a truck at one point in time. Due to the rude service and over priced yard bird I will never go to this Chicken Express again. read more

Been going there since it opened and have had no issues ... until the last THREE times I've been there for lunch. Chicken so dry the skin disintegrates - not crispy - dust. Plus the chicken was dry. If I hadn't been getting great food since the beginning, I'd give it one star. But 3 bad out of a few hundred isn't bad, so 3 Stars. Won't be going back, though.
