The Texas toast was fragrant, and the flavours of the sandwich blended very well together. My cousin got the fried catfish platter, which didn't have much of a flavour, but he said that means it's a river catfish. He is a catfish connoisseur and liked it. The jalapeno hush puppies that came with it were excellent. However, the coleslaw had a very odd flavour, and neither of us liked it. It tasted acrid to me. I didn't really like the fries because of the seasoning, but I still had a few. The server initially gave my cousin water instead of the sweet tea that he ordered. They served us our water and sweet tea in mason jars, which looked very nice, but the water was not pleasing to my taste buds as it tasted like unfiltered tap water.

First up: Ice Haus Ultra Lite, Which somehow managed to clean my palate... out of spite. It tasted like soap - no exaggeration - Like someone dry-hopped it with hotel sanitation. Then came the Mexican Lager, full of fizz, But the flavor? Honest to God - horse piss. Sharp on the nose, rough on the tongue, A cruel joke in a pint-sized stein slung. Last, the Strawberry Blond - a sweet little pour, That smacked of Runtz candy and lab-made decor. Artificial as a neon tan, More chemistry than strawberry jam. Now look, the staff was nice, the space was fine, The outdoor area? A decent time. But you go to a brewery for beer worth the sip, Not a ghostly, soapy, fruit-flavored trip. From the phone call to the pick up to the food, I am sure glad we did. Service before was standard, but theirs was friendly and thorough. Food before was solid, but theirs was amazing. We ordered the Spicy Salt & Pepper Chicken and Pad Thai. Omg! They were delish. The chicken was a pleasant surprise since we had never had this dish before. We would order it again in a heartbeat, but now we are motivated to try other new dishes. My partner loves Pad Thai. I have only ever enjoyed it from 1 location, which was a food truck in Austin. Every place since then has been a disappointment, but not China Bowl's. Thank you for knowing how to make a proper and extra tasty Pad Thai. Since we usually do not stay through Sunday when we visit town, we will either need to start or shift our Chinese dinner nights, so we do not miss out.
