I checked in on Yelp to redeem a free drink (your choice of tea or lemonade.. I chose an Arnold Palmer!) For the churro, it was fresh and warm but not the best churro. Probably wouldn't order again unless I was really craving one. The slider appeared so small, but honestly the chicken was decent size so I got full fast. I wish the sauce was in my slider. The sauce was tasty! Chicken was juicy and battered nicely. The medium spice had a good kick to it.. I probably wouldn't go any spicier for my liking! The free Arnold Palmer was a let down. I have since had this restaraunt 8 times. All 8 times the restaraunt has impressed me. The chicken was crispy, Plump, and decently juicy. Chick Next Door is a sort of signature flavor they have that's not present in even the best hot chicken restaraunts. While not my favorite chicken restaraunt, I would say out of all of the chicken restaraunts I've had this place probably ranks #3. I take back my previous review calling the chicken dry and flakey. Chicken was good (a bit dry) but had a nice crust. Crust was an order of magnitude less spicy than anticipated - I ordered medium and it tasted like mild does from most places. Cole slaw and pickle were good, bun had a nice toast, and the chipotle Mayo was a nice addition. It was pretty expensive too - $19 for just the combo. Service was honestly just not great though. I ordered online takeout. Got there and the guy at the counter tried to charge me again. Explained I ordered through Yelp and apparently he figured it out. Got home, found out that although I ordered two sliders one of them was missing. Especially given how expensive these were I was honestly fairly upset. I'll admit I probably should've checked the order for accuracy, but given covid I usually won't open my orders until I get home. The chicken slider was bomb! The chicken tender was nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a perfectly toasted bun and slaw for the win. The only thing we didn't really like was the fried chicken wings (not pictured) that we ordered in addition the amazing sliders. Our issue was there was batter than chicken the wings were jumbo for sure but there was SO much batter that it came off the wings and with it the flavor. I hope they can fix that mix because I'd like to give them another try. Or at the very least get the sliders again!
