I've been coming here for a while and the food's been good, but I always end up waiting really long, today for example I have a one hour lunch break from work and I decided to use that and go get myself some chicken, however I got there the person working I never got his name I waited 5 to 10 minutes just for him to take my order because he was busy talking to someone, besides that I waited 28 minutes for my actual food and when I proceeded to ask about if my order was ready he stated in a rude way that "you know there is other people before you" Look the food's good but I don't appreciate his workmanship. read more

Got the #1 Slider & Fries (extra hot) & Steve's fries (Hot). The CRUNCH. It was juicy inside & had the best crunch of all the chicken I've had. Seasoning was good & came with a tiny bun. Extra hot wasn't that intense if you're used to spicy food. Fries were crispy & tasty. Sauce is ok, didn't like it too much but the food was good without it (not sure what seasoning it was I didn't like). Steve's Fries were yummy & fun to eat; had nice flavor with soft Mac & cheese. Staff was ok. It's a cute small place located on the corner with about 10 tables outside in a bright yellow cute area. No bathroom or inside area. Prices are fair for the portions. Food is 5/5 but service is hit or miss and mostly a 3/5. One of my favorite go to places! Chicken sandwiches are delicious, fries are so crispy, comeback sauce is perfection, and their Steve's fries are bomb! (I get Mac & cheese and comeback sauce on the side to keep fries from getting soggy). Place has covered outdoor patio seating area, sometimes music is blasting or too loud but no biggie. Love how late they're open because most places in the area aren't. We usually take food to go and it travels well. I honestly only go for the food but it would help if they improved customer service to be more consistent. I never know what I'm in for with Staff here and it kinda sucks and makes you not want to go. Sometimes they're super nice and will even go as far as offer you complimentary drinks or churros and have great customer service. Other times it's just the polar opposite. I've had incidents where they've yelled "WE DON'T HAVE HONEY!" at the top of their lungs after a simple ask for honey, hah! Could've been a bad day for the dude at the register but its always an extreme at this place. I've had other incidents where I get tons of eye rolling and treated like I'm a huge burden for asking for ketchup. Ketchup should be a normal ask. Maybe a customer service refresher course? I don't know what they need but I know management/ Steve is always kind If we happen to be served by him. UPDATE: Went a few weeks ago and was finally offered ketchup and honey without being scolded, great friendly service thank you! Went today and it was the rude service. Spice level is exactly what they say it is on the scale. I normally go for hot but the extra hot was really good mixed with fries. We've gone here a few times and will continue. I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about the coleslaw, but the ingredient seems simple and clean. The service is great, you're treated as if you were a friend. They're very friendly, and helpful if you can't seem to decide what to order. There is plenty of outdoor seating. I had been very much dying to try this place after following them on Instagram for so long. Their food looked so good. So, I drove myself out there and it didn't take too long to get there. The food itself is DELIIICIOUSSSS. I am so glad I did drive out there to get it. Even though I took it to go, it still held really well. I ordered a half order of Steve's Fries and it was a perfect serving size for one person. It was definitely filling. I got the chicken seasoned as medium and I thought it was really nice. Next time, I would probably experiment by doing a hotter flavor. The restaurant itself--the physical building--is very cute once you walk past the almost jail-like bars separating it from the street (not an insult, I just don't know how else to describe them). The space is basically an enclosed patio...it's not really like you are walking into a building. They do have heaters for outside-- though they were not in use while I was there. Keep that in mind if you go on a colder night or if it is windy, rainy, etc. and bring a coat. You order from a window facing the street, then walk "inside" to wait for/pick up/eat your food. I subtracted a star solely because they don't have a bathroom--at all. I already had to use the bathroom when I got there and I knew it would only get worse once I started eating and drinking, so I had to take my food to go rather than staying there and eating. But it still held really nice. Next time you're in the mood for some quality hot chicken, make sure that you give chick next door a try! It was so delicious and hit me right in my soul. Shout out to Chick Next Door for the great food! I had to drive a bit for this one. But it was worth it. I'm back on a chicken sandwich craze and this time it was Chick Next Door. It's on the corner. I almost missed it. Great service. Not much of a wait. I looked through the window while I waited for the server to help me. And I saw the tenders in a tray. Not cool because I'd prefer my food fresh. But I guess they were just getting ready for the lunch crowd. I really rather give 3 and a half stars. But I know these ratings mean a lot. Although I didn't love it, I didn't dislike it. I got what I paid for. Prices are fair. I got the two slider and fries combo. The fries were really good. They have that batter on them that makes them thick and crispy. A lot like Popeyes. The breading on the tenders was really good and crunchy. Just not as hot and fresh. But no big deal. Their sauce was a bit spicy for me. But still good. I also got two churros for my friend and I. Both the dulce de leche and vanilla were good. No complaints here. But I won't be back. My flexitarian side WANTS to be full time vegan but I happened to be next door getting my dog groomed and it just smelled SO GOOD. I had a single hot tender then circled back to order for my teenager who doesn't like her food to touched. We demolished this and vow to eat it there next time because if it's this good 20 minutes later IMAGINE fresh. Looks like I found the perfect dog groomer - err ... "fast food" place. I have since had this restaraunt 8 times. All 8 times the restaraunt has impressed me. The chicken was crispy, Plump, and decently juicy. Chick Next Door is a sort of signature flavor they have that's not present in even the best hot chicken restaraunts. While not my favorite chicken restaraunt, I would say out of all of the chicken restaraunts I've had this place probably ranks #3. I take back my previous review calling the chicken dry and flakey. I'm going to assume that the chef at the time maybe just wasn't that good? Because this place has redeemed itself 8 times over. Highly reccomend.
