    Cali Burrito (Lunch Favorite)
    Nancy T.

Date: July 8, 2025 Was craving a burrito and was around the Glendale area so yelped around and found burrito bomba! I was reading the reviews before ordering and it seems their online menu is different from their actual in store menu so make sure to check both! The online ordering didn't have the option for Cali burrito so I placed a pickup order via phone. The lady who took my call was super nice and the gentleman that rang me up was also friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is cute. Small with a couple bar seats and two tables outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A big menu on the top as well as smaller menus on the counter. We got the steak and bacon breakfast burrito (16.99$). Nothing special, but it was good. Also got the Cali burrito w/ steak (12.99$ + 2.99$) and this one was average. Wish the steak had more flavor but do love the blend of fries and the sauce they use. Ordered two additional sauces to try (.50$ ea), bomba and salsa verde. Overall it was a great first try. Good burritos and nicely packed. Thanks for a great first visit!

I had the privilege of working with owner, Eric to book an order for delivery. The entire order was 60 breakfast burritos: half sausage and half bacon. Eric was super responsive and easy to work with. Burritos were delivered on time and warm along with plenty of servings of their bomba sauce and pico de gallo. The burritos were a hit!! I'd definitely come visit the restaurant in person and try their other offerings which looked equally good as what we received for our staff event. Thank you Eric!!

I heard about Burriot Bomba from a friend quite a few years ago. I started following them on instagram. Their burritos looked amazing!! I have been dying to try but it's not very close to where I live. I was in the area today so I made sure to finally go. The menu in small and simple which I like because then I'm not sitting there forever trying to decide. I tried the surf and turf burrito flamin style with the cheese and hot Cheeto dust on the outside. It was so good!! I love the spicy kick it adds. I also go the loaded fries which were also delicious! My family pigged out. We were miserable after from eating so much so fast because it was so tasty! This is the type of place I would take to go. Although they do have a few small tables inside and outside. The prices are reasonable but when you add the protein and extras it can add up. My total was $70 for 2 basic burritos, 1 specialty burrito, and loaded fries. I also did order three really small sides of the extra sauce. I wish the side sauces were larger. The mango sauce was sweet and spicy. I loved it! My dad's words to me after eating were, " well your friend was so right. It was really good"!

Best Food Ever. The breakfast burritos are flavorful and massive. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to try the loaded tater tots. I'm really gonna miss you guys. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Been to Burrito Bomba in Glendale several times. My husband always orders the steak burrito and I always ordered the chicken salad and we were both very pleased with those meals. Yesterday, Jan. 29, 2026. I decided to not order the salad and ordered the Baja Cali Steak burrito and the West coast pastor burrito. The steak burrito was tasty but with a little more potatoes than steak. The West coast pastor meat was actually hard to taste because of too much potato. Mostly potatoes and a lot of flour tortilla. If we do order the pastor burrito again, we'll ask for light potatoes so we could actually taste the pastor taste. I added a pic of a 1/4 of the pastor burrito which was like I said, mostly potatoes.

I can't get enough of this place! The chips and guac are the freshest I have ever had!!! The chips come out freshly fried, super hot, and crispy. I love their special house sauce--it has the perfect amount of heat. I usually go for the carne asada, and whether you get a burrito or a bowl, it's fantastic either way! Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Been wanting to try this place for a while now, seeing it all over social media and this place was pretty local to us. We ordered the breakfast burrito with the steak & bacon. I can definitely say that the food was good, but I wish it had more bacon in it. But I'm glad the sizing of the food was definitely worth the money. The only thing that I didn't like, is that they were sold out of the waffle fries. Also the coke from the soda machine was flat, thankfully they just gave us the glass bottle as a replacement which was definitely nice customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant is regular, it seems like a place to just pick up the food and go with minimal seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, the place was definitely above average, but knowing that there's so many other breakfast burrito spots out there I'll definitely want to explore more.

    Their basic Lunch Burrito

The basic price for a burrito does not include your choice of protein. For example, the burrito we decided to go with was their basic lunch burrito. The starting price was $11.99 but our choice of protein (steak) was an extra charge, which brought our total up to $16 & some change. I was thinking, for that price I'm expecting to get what I paid for (at least size wise). The burrito came out a basic size. Ok, I thought surely the flavor is gonna be there. I was wrong. All I could taste was the rice that was drowning in their sauce they dress it in. Taking into account the size for the price & and the flavor, I won't be going back. BUT, at least the girl helping to ring us up was nice.

First time visiting this spot but it won't be my last. The classic horchata is one of the best horchatas I've had. Maybe next time I'll give the caramel horchata option a try. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon. And I audibly said wow when I took my first bite. The sauce & the hashbrowns were perfection. Made a pregnant mama very happy. My husband got the steak breakfast burrito and that steak was impressively seasoned so well. Met Eric the owner who took our order. He was great! High top bar seats and a few tables inside. Parking options in the rear.

I'm literally writing this while eating this is one of the best burritos I've had. I came to burrito bomba because I was in the area and it did not disappoint the food is top tier. The customer service was amazing as well the cashier was kind and super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is small but it doesn't take away from the amazing flavor the food has.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a west coast burrito with the protein being surf and turf and let me tell you it's out of this world with flavor the tortilla has a red tint to it but that makes it amazing. If you want a amazing burrito in Glendale please come to Burrito Bomba

The only reason I don't give Burritos Bomba 5 stars is because it was my fault for not knowing all the food includes a spicy chipotle style house sauce. I could have done without the house sauce, but I wanted to try their signature burritos so I digress. I tried the bacon and sausage breakfast burrito and it was really good. Packed with protein and flavor definitely worth the price. Can't wait to try their other menu items!!! Definitely worth a try!!!

    Loaded Fries

I visited on a friend's suggestion. The loaded fries were really good. Crispy waffle fries + meat (al pastor for me) + cilantro sauce.

Lots of variety to choose from, the burritos are customizable and pretty reasonable price. I was served by a kind woman in the front and accommodated all my needs. Highly recommend :)

The nachos were absolutely amazing--one of the best parts of the meal. Before we even ordered, they brought out chips with green and red salsa, and even those chips were delicious. However, the enchiladas were not good at all. Still, the nachos were so good, with guacamole and cheese coming together perfectly, that I would definitely go back whenever I'm craving nachos. Lately, I've been really enjoying watching World Cup soccer games, and it was fun to watch and cheer together while having dinner there. One thing I noticed: the women's restroom was not well maintained at first. There was no toilet seat cover and no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, so I felt it could have been cleaner and better managed. However, when I went back a second time, I saw a staff member actively restocking supplies, handing out toilet seat covers and toilet paper to others, and communicating with housekeeping over a radio about what was needed. That made me feel better about how they manage the facility. Overall, from the hostess who seated us to the servers, all the staff were very friendly, which made the experience even better. And, the nice atmosphere is a plus.

Judging by the overall cleanliness, including the bathrooms, I kind of understand why. Service was also pretty bad. I had to ask for simple things, like water, multiple times and was greeted with almost outright hostility when asking. With the literally dozens of Mexican restaurants in Glendale I don't know why anyone would waste their money here. Hard pass.

Apparently, my friend and other mutual colleagues/friends still kept in touch with each other on a regular basis (I wasn't good about that) and met here fairly often on Mondays. My schedule was always difficult, but on this fateful date, I was available and geeked to hang out with people I haven't seen in over a decade easily. Having served Montrose since 2002, they have since become a pillar of the community with their family recipes and fresh homemade cuisine. I was surprised I'd never heard of this place since I grew up in the area and still relatively frequented it. Would my first time at the sun be my last, or would the family feel (and happy hour!) bring me back!? PURCHASE(S) Chips & Salsa (COMP): Both homemade, the chips were crispy and warm while the salsas were spicy and warm - arriba! Blended Mango Margarita Blended ($7.00 HH): Mango flavor throughout with enough tequila, this was a nice way to start my imbibing on this hot day! Asada Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Marinated tender beef with diced white onion, this was simplicity at its best! Carnitas Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Same as the asada tacos but chicken! Strawberry Margarita On The Rocks ($7.00 HH): Fruity and sweet with just enough tequila but more ice than I liked. Bean & Cheese Nachos ($5.00 HH): Hot beans and melty cheese, this was very basic but served its purpose. Peach Margarita On The Rocks ($7.00 HH): Refreshing but same as the strawberry version. A slightly elevated Mexican cerveza - salud! Pacifico Clara Lager Beer 4.5% ABV 12floz Bottle ($5.00 HH): Bright amber color, malty salty aroma, light body, malty warm watery flavor, clean finish, and light malty watery aftertaste. An easy-breezy beer! SERVICE Warmly greeted by a young gentleman who ended up also being our server. I was the first to arrive, and when I mentioned my friends' names, he took me to their standard booth, gave me a menu, a glass of water, and complimentary chips and salsa. He returned moments later, took my first of many orders, and as our ever-growing party kept showing up, he was on us with such ease while he kept his head on a swivel as orders came from all directions. He was the bomb - muchas gracias! PARKING (FREE): They shared parking within a small strip mall that featured a handful of other businesses such a laundromat, a liquor store, and more. Otherwise, there were many spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A casual clean somewhat packed floor plan with two dining areas (the main front and the side) filled with a mix of booths and partitioned tables, I didn't notice an actual bar, and minimal cultural decorations added some splash along with some 2026 World Cup fever. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the front doors and windows while an assortment of electric ceiling lights would've covered the rest as it got darker. There were several low-volume TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I had a fun time at El Sol Family Restaurant mainly because I caught up with so many people I haven't seen in so many years and to be introduced to a new business to me with a very good happy hour. I hoped to join them for more happy hours and actually try their full menu. The food was yummy, the prices very affordable, the menu was rather sizable, and the service was awesome. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). When we finally cut into it, we realized they had given us a completely different burrito/order. I immediately called the restaurant, and I was told that corrections or refunds could only be made the same day. At that point it was already around 11:45 PM. I live about 20 minutes away, so driving back would have put me there after closing. I even offered to send a picture of the incorrect order, but was told they couldn't access the email. What made this even more frustrating was how unaccommodating the employee was. Knowing there was no realistic way for me to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant before closing, I expected at least some effort to find a reasonable solution. Instead, I felt like I was simply being told there was nothing they could do. When I said I would contact upper management for a resolution via email, the employee even seemed relieved, rather than concerned about resolving the issue. I understand mistakes happen, but the restaurant made the mistake--not me. The least they could have done was offer a refund for an overpriced burrito that I didn't even order. It's now past midnight, and I have to drive way out of my way just to find somewhere that's still open to get food. Very disappointing customer service, and unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again.

We had been to this small quaint and beautiful little restaurant in Montrose before and wanted to try it again. We loved their little Spanish style courtyard, the tapas, paellas, and the setting felt so good for little date night after being away for so long. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. We made reservations for 7:15pm and were hardly even greeted by the hostess that seemed she'd rather be elsewhere then to welcome us to Casa Cordoba. Problem was though even after setting the reservation time and arriving exactly at 7:15pm we weren't seated for 15min even though we saw our table being cleaned and set and just sit there unoccupied for over 15min. So we waited. When we finally sat down...our server didn't come by for another 10-15min. But we were patient and we waited. Alvin finally came -- brought us water and opened the wine we brought. A special one for this type of occasion (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the paella with squid ink and seafood since it takes up to 45min to prepare and sat down to enjoy the wine and take in the setting. That night they had live music -- a guy on an acoustic guitar playing some cool songs, from Maroon 5 to Backstreet Boys on a 12 string...at least it was live. It was pleasant. The server didn't attend to us much and just had an air about him. Idk -- they may have been super busy but wasn't sure. Finally the paella came. It was...good. Not plentifully. 7-8mussels, a quarter of an octopus tentacles, and a couple of calamari. If you're thinking that much it and rice then you're right. It was mainly rice. No vegetables accompanying it but that's the dish. That was $57 for the small version. I've made paella before. It takes time and it's a production -- but at least at home I can make one for half that price for 8 people. Maybe that's why we don't go out so often bc it ends sometimes like this. We expect a nice meal, a welcoming host or hostess, a server who enjoys the food and atmosphere and makes us feel at home, and food that we could never prepare at home. It's suppose to be an experience that you are happy to pay for. This wasn't. We were disappointed and just felt like wanting to leave. The last straw was when I signed the check on a toast machine and asked for the printed copy. The server, Alvin just left the toast machine with us and left -- attending to others and leaving us with this machine. All I wanted at the end was a thank you for dining with us and the printed copy. We had to flag another server for that copy. He eventually came, with disdain written all over and just handed me the copy, as if I had taken his time to get my the receipt which I asked. That pretty much did it. I asked to speak with the manager and was told--"oh sure. I can get him--he's the chef, give me a minute." I was floored!! No wonder!!! The chef. The back of house manager is also the front of house manager!! That says a lot. You're front of house and your guests are not being taken care of? What kind of restaurant is this? With these prices? Regardless that was it. We left -- had some great ice cream and spoke about the whole experience all the way back home. Great date night eh? Not returning.
