The sundubu jigae tasted like water and the seafood was rubbery and overcooked. The tangsuyuk was dry and the sauce was too watery, nowhere near as thick as it should be. The sauce too was bland. The donkatsu was also dry and flavorless. I would not recommend at all. Please go somewhere else... anywhere else.

There is a choice of two different kinds of filling: meat or kimchi. With both types of fillings, the fillings are mixed with glass noodles, garlic, and other stuff. The meat is, I believe, pork. You can get a wang mandu (which means king dumpling) for $2. The wang mandu is the size of a grown man's fist. You can get 6 pieces of the "small" dumpling for $4. The "small" dumpling is about the size of my palm. It's still big. Normally they're steamed, but if you want them fried, you can get it fried for an extra dollar. I was blown away by the cheap prices. As for the flavor . . . it's good. It's really fresh because they made it right there. As I walked up, I saw the ladies standing around a table with a large tub of filling making more dumplings. The Korean mandu is not always like Chinese dumplings. The wang mandu covering is more bread-like because it's meant to be a street snack that you eat out of your hand. The bread-like exterior makes it easier to hold and not fall apart. I heard so many good things about Chick-N-Bap but it was created after I graduated from Binghamton University so I never had a chance to try it UNTIL i got it delivered to New York City all the way from Binghamton. First of all, it's run by college students. And it's probably the first halal ever to be served on campus. As a former Binghamton student, it's something to be proud of. And it tastes amazing. I had to wait until the next day to eat it but it was still very fresh and delicious. I've had many halals in Queens and New York City and thought 53rd & 6th had the best halal (although it's very greasy), but I was surprised that this halal made by students can taste as good as the one from 53rd & 6th. Four hours away from 53rd Street & 6th Ave., Chicken-N-Bap has taken the classic halal cart chicken over rice and brought it to Binghamton. Having had chicken over rice from both Chicken-N-Bap and in NYC, I can say that Chicken-N-Bap has brought justice to this dish. The chicken was moist, the rice well cooked and all three(White, BBQ, Hot) sauces were on point. Today i decided to try their Korean BBQ chicken dish. At first I was reluctant on trying it, knowing how good the original was, but I ended up getting it and have no regrets. When I first had Chick-N-Bap, I literally thought there was crack in it. It was that good. I did some private investigating and discovered that was definitely NOT the case. It's just some banging food. I also bought this girl I had a crush on some Chick-N-Bap, and now we're dating, like even facebook official and everything. It's that serious between us now. The only thing is that I don't know if she loves me for me or loves me because I buy her Chick-N-Bap every weekend. If it's the latter, I don't even mind. Binghamton is no Manhattan. My love for chicken and rice from the street carts is above imagination. I have got to say though, Chick-N-Bap fills the void. From the traditional dish with fluffy yellow rice and soft tender chicken thighs with fresh iceberg lettuce topped off with delicious white sauce, bbq sauce and hot sauce to the new Korean bbq marinade chicken with white rice seasoned with sesame oil to top it off with a ginger-garlic sauce makes my tastebuds very very happy. The only place in Binghamton marketplace that really allows you to get that New York City feel. The staple dish is the chicken and rice platter, which seamlessly blends with all the sauces that are at the customer's disposal. Now they have just recently added a Korean dish, which may give the chicken and rice platter a run for its money as the most popular dish at Chick-N-Bap. Either way you can't really make a mistake. This place is exactly what I've been waiting for during my college years in Binghamton. Anyone from the five boroughs knows the craze around halal and this chick n bap joint really delivers that to this campus area. It has its own unique flavorful taste that isn't necessarily identical to the halal carts of New York City, and there isn't a week that goes by where I don't get it at least once. For a small metro area largely unknown even elsewhere in it's own state, the Greater Binghamton…read morearea aka the Triple Cities (a historic nickname which referred to Binghamton and it's neighboring former cities turned villages of Johnson City and Endicott) punches wildly above it's weight with it's highly unique hyper-regional cuisine. Among the waves of immigrants brought to the area during it's numerous boom cycles, first as the world shoe-making capitol and later and the original home of IBM and other massive corporations, were Italians who developed among other dishes, the culinary pride of the region, the Spiedie. Skewered cubes of various meats, supposedly originally lamb but now more likely chicken and pork are marinated in a deliciously herbaceous, acidic and garlic heavy blend and spit cooked to perfection, and served in wonderfully crusty sub bread, it's served at bars, diners, pizzerias and elsewhere grilled up in backyard barbecues with store bought marinades at area groceries, and is so beloved it serves as the centerpiece of a annual "Spiedie-fest" food festival and competition. This decades old Endicott takeout institution with a few picnic tables outside and a glorious vintage mid-century sign is widely considered one of the Spiedie GOATS, and is an excellent spot to get a taste of the dish with an extra helping of local flavor. I sampled two of the smaller 6 inch subs one each of pork chicken. Both were marinaded to perfection and accompanied by some of the most perfectly crusty fresh made hero bread I can ever remember having which perfectly absorbed the gloriously flavorful marinade. Oddly enough and consistent with all my previous Spiedie experiences, somehow shockingly it was the chicken which was by far the juicier of the two proteins, while the pork was just the slightest bit on the dry side, although both were extremely tasty. I don't know if this has to due with the respective cuts of pork and chicken that are used for the Spiedies or some alchemy caused by the reaction between the chicken and the marinade, but I am hard pressed to think of another dish where the chicken would be the more juicy of the meats on offer. This curious fact was reinforced by the chicken being slightly more expensive than the pork option. Both were still astonishingly under 6 dollars each, reinforcing the reverse sticker shock you often encounter when seeing the low prices on menus when eating in the area. The merciful pricing continues across the menu, which offers a wide variety of non-spiedie options like Beef and Ham BBQ and Kielbasa subs, burgers and dogs, potato and macaroni salads and much more. I also grabbed a side of gloriously greasy fried pierogis along with my spiedies for $4.55, of which I was only able to enjoy one of due to how stuffed I was from the subs, before packing it up for a snack later. End result; massively delicious, supremely filling meal + leftovers and local anthropology study in one for $16 total.
