It's just obvious this restaurant is Franchise. This location is 3 blocks from home and I usually drive the 7-10 miles to the next one but come to this one when we are short in time. About 1/3 the time they mess up our orders. My profile tells you I don't take time reviewing but geez, it's so annoying. The guy standing on the lines that suppose to confirm your order and direct you in which car goes next, is literally standing up against the wall, not approaching the vehicles, we are figuring it out on our own, and the entire time his eyes were closed. So I get to the window, lady seemed rushed. they pass me the drink, with the car information STICKER placed on the LID (that's pretty nasty and unhygienic if you ask me) the cup was full of soda, that spilt and continued dripping as they passed it to me. I asked for napkins to wipe it down myself so it doesn't get my holder sticky. They passed the food, shoved it practically, she said "have a nice day" and boom, gone. I waited in the window, no acknowledgment, I yelled "excuse me!" She came and I told her we were forgetting our ice cream for the kids meals, she checks the system (having given me a kids meal/drink) as she serves the ice cream, I checked the bags to ensure our order is ready - the salad was open and some lettuce was out in the bag. By this time I was annoyed because of the service, they seemed annoyed so I didn't say anything. Again she hands the ice cream and says "have a nice day!" And boom she's gone again. No chance for nothing. Got home and yes, indeed, the dipping sauces for the chicken pieces were missing. The salad ? Well, it wasn't as full as usual and 1/2 the chicken as the chain restaurants. And also - the lettuce pieces were so long, not even cut properly and honestly, you can tell they didn't wash it. I can taste the dirtiness on it. This Chikfila was alright. I think one needs to get used to the fact even on a slow day in the drive thru at any Chikfila you will still be waiting at least 15 minutes for your food. Also the drive thru splits into two lines but merges back into one when you pay. That's a pain as you never know if you will get merged in on and lose your spot. That's just how it is. I don't recommend the drive through. They will hand you your food while there is three to four cars still waiting for theirs. I also don't recommend getting a milkshake if this happens to you, especially if you're taking it home for someone else. I strongly suggest walking inside to order your food. Chick-Fil-A, May I make a suggestion? Don't hand the customer their milkshakes if there food is still going to take an additional 15-20 minutes to make. Absolute worst customer service; today they have earned their ongoing reputation as the worst Chick-fil-A location in San Diego. My son had a $25 Chick-fil-A gift card with $12+ balance left on the card, it was declined in the drive through, they confiscated and threw away the card. On site manager refused to help after hearing that the card had been kept and thrown away... resorted to "It's our policy", the manager ultimately accused my wife of cussing at her yet when asked what word was used she could not identify it. I ordered an original chicken sandwich with no pickles and add pepper Jack cheese. When they gave us our food we asked for an additional Texas Pete and we got a weird look as of that worker also did not know about Texas Pete hot sauce. I came to pick up a Mac n cheese for my dad as he ordered earlier in the day and got the wrong item. My dad coordinated with Gustavo for me to pick it up. I came in and Gabriella was working at the register. She verified with Gustavo and let me know Mac n cheese was out and would take 30minutes for the new batch. She offered a replacement but I told her I'd wait, and proceeded to make a separate order for myself, one of the new pimento sandwiches. She took it upon herself to offer it to me for free, even though I didn't ask. She was so accommodating and communicative about the situation and I felt like she genuinely was putting the customer first. I felt that she really cared about fixing the mistake, that my business here mattered and that she wanted to do the right thing. She had great character and integrity, excellent customer service and I saw her treating every other customer in the same manner, friendly, polite and respectful. Sad, unfortunate, but unsurprising the level of quality (food handling) and customer service for this Chick-Fil-A location. The majority of staff not only does the bare minimum; they simply to not pay attention to say the least nor do they take ownership and accountability when orders (9/10) end up wrong . All while simultaneously putting it on the customer as if it's their fault when it solely is due to their lack of attentiveness and service skills. Management/ownership needs to get a hold of the current staff and re-train, ask other locations to come in to do so/help OR do a sweep and bring people in who actually want to do more than work a few hours and collect a paycheck. As you pull up to the window you'll see it takes 3-5 people to get your order together. Oddly they forget to add something to my bag every time. Even after I coach them through my order. One time I finally called the location and shared they'd forgot items. I was given a deadline to return within 48 hours or the opportunity would expire. I thought but I paid for it and your staff had 10 minutes to double check the bag. As far as the food its standard to any other locations but due to the lack of lines its sometimes fresher. Ambiance is okay if you appreciate fast food timers not being answered. Overall you will get ChickaFila food but you will not get that world class service you love. Stand in front of customers and you have to pull from muscle memory the menu because lord forbid if you try to see it.
