Not the biggest fan of this chain, for multiple reasons. But I had the remainders of a gift card that I needed to use up and why not do it while I was out. It wasn't busy in here when I showed up, but the employees sure were busy behind the counter. There were only two people in front on me and it took a bit longer than it should have. I liked the set up in here. It felt more city than I expected. Even though it was in Silver Spring, I felt like I was more in DC than I expected. I ordered what I thought would be quickest to not only make, but eat. I went with their nugget meal, with lemonade. If a meal could be any more of a disaster, then this was it. I sat down and opened up everything, sauces included. First dip into the sauce, en route to my mouth, the coating gives way and sauce covered nugget falls and rolls down my hoodie. There are days you may daydream that you want to be covered in barbecue sauce, but not days like this where you just wanted to eat and go about your day. Placed a DoorDash order from this location Tuesday, May 19th, at 6:08pm. The only thing I ordered was a market salad and medium Sunjoy. The food didn't arrive until over an hour later, at 7:18pm. Not sure if this was a DoorDash or Chick-fil-A issue. Nevertheless, when the food arrived, my salad was halfway full and prepared extremely sloppy. The portion is the size of a side salad, and there is barely any fruit. I called the location to complain, and the manager doesn't have much to say, except for take it up with DoorDash. This location has always been piss poor, for years. I live 10 min away from this place, and it feels like I don't have a Chick-fil-A nearby, cause I never go here. The food has always been subpar and mid, and the workers/management there don't seem to care. Some of the worst Chick-fil-A I've had in my life has came from this location. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, this location is not worth it, save yourself from the disappointment. For fast food chicken, we had a wonderful lunch here. We had takeout. Food was hot, waffle fries were fresh and hot, drinks had a lot of ice, they had the right sauces, napkins, and straws in the bag. The whole order was done well. I got a catering order from Chick-fil-A; the order was for a new staff breakfast here at my school (TPMS in Silver Spring). The service for the order was backed up, as there were only three staff members (visible). The staff breakfast at my school started at 8:30am, and because of the delay of service (I had an 8:15 am pickup), I had to wait for the entrees to be cooked on the spot. I was also 10 minutes late to work. The food was okay; once I got to work, staff indulged in the Chicken minis, parfait, and various beverages. Some of the entrees were not cooked all the way (the bread on the minis was barely done), but, the chicken as always was on point. The coffee, lemonade, and iced tea sealed staff's breakfast. Literally in the heart of downtown silver spring, this Chick-fil-A is at such a convenient location. There are however, a ton of other food competitors around the area so that's something to always consider. This store is always busy and there seems to consistently be an issue with some homeless person walking in requesting for money or food from paying customers. This is a bit of an issue but I do sympathize for those individuals. I found that the food is delicious and consistent no matter what Chick-Fil-A location you dine at. What more is there to say....about a Chick-fil-A!? Other than...I love the stuff! The menu is uncomplicated and full of all the items you tend to be familiar with, when it comes to Chick-fil-A. Per usual, everything I ordered today was on point and delicious; including the customer service! I ordered my "go-to".....the #1 Meal: Chick-fil-A Deluxe w/ Waffle Fries and the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade. As if this was not enough food already, I ordered 8 nuggets and a Strawberry milkshake to satisfy the inner greedy voice inside of me begging for more. My order was great....prepared fast and the food...served hot, with no long wait times or sold out sandwich shenanigans (sorry Popeyes). And, most of all, the chicken sandwiches kick A@%! Not only is the food consistent across locations, I find the employees and customer service is too. They always seem happy, polite and eager to assist you. Also, the "my pleasure" gesture after serving you is a great touch. My only gripe with this location is the seating area and space of the restaurant. It is small and the seating is limited to large farm tables and 2-4 seater tables spotted around. I can see this making the dining experience undesirable and uncomfortable during peak hours or busy lunch timeframes. Other than this...all Thumbs Up on my end! The unruly behavior of the customers at this location was the main drawback, and the staff seemed to be doing the best they can. It's literally across from the Regal theater. Please note all chick-fil-a are closed on Sundays. This place gets fairly busy during the lunch / dinner hours. However, they do have staff with tablets taking your order while in line to help the lines move faster. This is pretty nice. The inside of the restaurant is fairly clean and the sauce / napkin table tends be to clean and refilled frequently. I came here and ordered their original chicken sandwich and their waffle fries. Do yourself a big favor and get the large size of waffle fries. You can thank me later. These fries are delicious and tough to share :) The chicken sandwich was nice and juicy and moist. Comes with 2 pickles between the bread and chicken. It's delicious and they perfected the chicken to bread ratio. Definitely will return here. Staff here are extremely friendly. The only reason I visit this Chick-fil-A is because it's conveniently located. The service here is garbage finding parking is a disaster and unlike every other Chick-fil-A in the world these employees are just not happy. I thought it was a one off than a two off but it has been consistent that the service has just been bad. Today On top of the terrible service they ran out of eggs at breakfast time and we're completely unapologetic about it of course. I'm not sure what's going on with this location maybe they're overworked and overstressed but they do not hold up to the Chick-fil-A standard. I will say that this time my biscuit was actually soft so I will give an extra star for that and my food came out warm upon pick up. If I order in person, drive threw or pick up, my order is usually always correct! I have no idea how they do it.. the staff are friendly. I go to Chick-fil-A in Wilmington DE quite often as I live in DE. So I expected similar food in this Silver Spring chain when I traveled to MD. Quite surprising, the food in this chain is not as fresh, completely different from what I expected. I ordered Cobb salad and fried waffle, the nuggets in the salad is not that fresh so it doesn't taste appetizing. The fried waffle was ok. They did gave a bigger quantity in the salad box, but to me freshness and taste are more important than volume. read more

I hate when cashiers don't pay attention to customers' orders. I ordered a Cobb salad with no bacon, and even repeated my order twice to the cashier, who was too busy chit-chatting with a passing co-worker to really pay attention. I checked my salad before I left, and didn't see any bacon on top. Great. I took my salad to go and after a couple of mouthfuls, I realized that the salad actually had a layer of bacon at the bottom of it. I don't eat pork and I was absolutely livid that I wasted $9 on a salad that not only could I not eat, but that also might've made me sick had I continued eating it. We come here every Friday. Today they messed up the order. Didn't put everything in the bag. I guess it's our fault for not holding on to the receipt, but it's never been a problem. When my son asked for the order to be corrected, they double downed. Not the way I used to experience Chik-fil-A. Granted I'm emotional from health issues, but it shouldn't take me using that knowledge to make customer service do the right thing. My first and only visit here so far was on the Saturday of my grandson's birthday party at the end of August. My task was to pick up the two pre-ordered medium size trays of their chicken nuggets for the party. The total bill with tax was $127.20. They were to have been ready by 11:45 am for the party at noon. There is a convenient parking lot just down the street that is free on weekends and evenings after 7 pm. This made parking not a problem despite the street being closed to traffic due to the Labor Day holiday event just outside. This did however mean that the restaurant was very busy. My wait was not too long to check in at the order pick area at the end of the counter. The problem was that the order wasn't ready to go. I was told the nuggets still had to be loaded into the 2 trays. I expected a somewhat short wait but it turned into almost a 40 minute wait. So I updated my daughter and waited. During this time I was offered two cards for a complimentary chicken sandwich and a free drink! I asked for an iced tea but it wasn't very cold. When I did get the order it was securely bagged up and the employees apologized again for my inconvenience. The chicken nuggets were a big hit with the kids and their parents. Two bottles of their delicious Chick-fil-A sauce were included with the order. I will of course return here to get the free chicken sandwiches as I work nearby at least once a week but I was very disappointed by the service that day! I continue to be a fan of their chicken nuggets, sandwiches and fries and they have a good kid's menu. Hard work, fairness, honesty, loyalty and respect, that's how! (I read S. Truett Cathy's biography.) The Cathy family must be doing something right. One of those things is that ALL Chick-fil-As across the country are always closed on Sundays. It was Truett Cathy's belief that all employees should have time to spend with their families, friends and worship if they choose. (He is obviously Christian.) That being said, I, who calls herself a veggie, does occasional eat chicken. (I prefer not to eat mammals, but I don't know if there is a name for that.) Chick-fil-A has awesome chicken strips and nuggets. That is all I can comment on, except that I'm not a fan of their waffle fries. Everyone I know loves their chicken. Their tender strip 4 pack is only $2.79; cheaper than McX, which only serves you three to a pack. This location is in the heart of Silver Spring. For my most recent order, I tried the grilled spicy deluxe sandwich with colby jack cheese, mac and cheese, fruit salad and a half and half. The sandwich was decent but expensive. Mac and cheese is surprisingly good and the half and half was alright too. In the future I'll prefer to keep the order more simple and cheap. Once your order is taken it's prepared quickly. This spot is consistently busy. You can come anytime of the day and the line is always out the door. The good thing is that they add efficient and the manager runs a tight ship! I don't go often as I try to stay away from friend food but once in a blue moon it calls me and I answer! I got the chicken strips with a fruit cup and lemonade! This Chick-fil-A location off of Ellsworth, near the main strip of shops and the movie theater in Downtown Silver Spring. It is conveniently close to my office, so I often pickup breakfast here, the Chick-n-Minis with Hasbrowns and an orange juice are my go to order. The food here is comparable to other Chick-fil-A locations I have been to and the staff are always friendly. Food always comes out quickly, even when it gets super busy and packed. The inside of this location is very clean, there is plenty of seating available and tables are cleaned off quickly once guests leave. There is street parking as well as several garages nearby for parking. I would recommend this location, I have had no issues the many times I have come here :) read more

They have had the Chick-fil-a training in customer service and the food was hot so no issues there...the only issue well (ISSUES) not issue but problem (PROBLEMS) I have are 1. You don't have trays so you charging everyone the MC bag tax...smh 2. You don't close until 10 PM but your staff, Ana, was rushing me out the dining area because she stated you all close the dining area at 9 PM. 3. You have to use a code to use the bathroom...I know it's s precaution/safety issue because of the homeless population in the area but how safe is it when people are still knocking and letting others in. The homeless are still entering the premises pan handling money from patrons. The only saving grace was the ice cream machine was working. Step your game up Chick fil a but then again people will continue to patronize you as you are the only one in the area for at a good 5-10 miles in any direction. This is the downtown Silver Spring location on Ellsworth and I think location contributed to my 4 star rating. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon early and it was like Jesus came back and was doing Q & A in the first booth. There were dozens, DOZENS of ppl in line and at the counter, and nowhere to really sit, annnnd just chaos and crayons and kids and mittens EVERYWHERE! lol SIGH...the employees looked frazzled which is unusual for a CFA so I really felt bad for them because I know they were trying to keep that perky persona attached to this chain while hustling. I ordered my standard #5 (the 8 count) with a sweet tea once I FINALLY got through that ridiculous line out the door. I usually grade harshly for a wait and cleanliness, but in this instance, I give them 4 stars for doing the best they could to be spirited & sanitary amongst the chaos. The young lady who took my order forgot to say the signature "MY PLEASURE" that we all secretly love to hear, but the manager who handed me my food picked up her slack, so its all good. I stalked a table so I got a seat rather quickly, and the food was, as always, delicious...DUH! Convenient location right at the corner of Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive, right next to the Fenton Street Garage. There are two entrances, one right at the corner at the Ellsworth Drive side and one from the Fenton Street side. There is not a whole lot of seating given how busy this location is! At 9:20pm, 40 minutes before closing time, the staff were already blocking off most of the booths and tables and removing trash cans. I felt unwelcome and rushed. They were also out of regular lemonade (only Splenda lemonade left---meh). The chick-fil-a nuggets I ordered were tiny bottom-of-the-pan scraps---disappointing. I recommend another restaurant past 9pm if you want a more fulfilling experience! read more

I have developed a very secret obsession with Chick-Fil-A over the past several months since they arrived in NYC. The deluxe chicken sandwich with waffles fries are my go to meal 99% of the time. Which is what I got here at the Silver Springs location. Shockingly enough though as in most cases where restaurants that start in the South, Midwest or West Coast tend to taste better than the New York version, that was not the case here. Even though of course I enjoyed my deluxe chicken sandwiich and waffle fries, the bun on the sandwich just seemed to be missing something and the fries could of been a little bit less flimsy and more cooked. But still I did enjoyed it but the NYC version of Chick-Fil-A I will choose anyday...at least for right now till another state proves me wrong one day. read more

It truly never fails. Every time I come to this Chick Fil A, whether or not I place a mobile order I'll be waiting at least twenty minutes. The employees always look like they don't want to be there and how unprofessional it's there is surreal. No matter the time of day either, a very long wait will be guaranteed. Today I made the mistake to go back to get a quick meal but after waiting almost thirty minutes the manager decided to give me a refund. Then I'd need to wait three more minutes to get what I ordered but with me being thoroughly disappointed with this whole establishment; I declined and decided to leave because I really would rather to spend not another second in that place.
