One of the dirtiest and ill run restaurants in the franchise that we have been to. There were only two tables eating and no one in the drive thru yet employees were all just huddled together joking around while the place looks like a dumpster, filthy. Check the pictures....tells a thousand words.

    Sad, cold, overcooked, soggy fries.

The worst CFA I have ever been to. Fries are consistently dark brown, overcooked, soggy, and cold all at the same time. They often have dry buns that are falling apart or forget your multigrain bun. The food is rarely very hot when you get it. Always greasy. We, unfortunately, will not be back to this location.

First I would start to say, that chick fila is my families GO TO fast food, pretty much the only fast food.. :) EVERY OTHER CHICK FILA is top notch on consistency and service and having quality products. This review is specifically for the chick fila in Clayton, GA. It is consistently disappointing.. the fries we receive are mostly cold, but burnt on the outside at the same time? As far as having multigrain brioche on the menu, that is great! But when the bread is clearly too old, and moldy.. just say you are out.. the staff has been rude on numerous occasions, and seem extremely inconvenienced by any additional requests or change ups. We will not be returning to this location, but overall it has just left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish you a speedy recovery chick fila in Clayton.

As with most national restaurants, CFA has uniform benchmarks for cuisine, service and overall operation. That said the sausage & egg biscuits here are the best I have had at any CFA. They are BIG, baked just right (not gummy) and have fluffy scrambled eggs. Yum.

Awesome food and service. Very clean and friendly staff. Would highly recommend. The drive thru lanes were very fast to get through.

Amazing staff. Management made sure we were well taken care of even though we had a large party. Also in a great location.

The biscuits were delicious and not too dry, but the corned beef hash was a little too salty (even for a fiend like me) and my omelet was both under and over cooked. Even if the food was ok, I have to call out the exceptional service we received. Our waiter was kind and attentive, clarifying whether we wanted sweet or unsweet tea (my California ass forgot I was in the south now), warning us the kitchen was running a little behind due to the morning rush, and in general being a gem of a human being. I'd come back for that treatment! Logistics: - limited street parking in front - indoor seating only

When traveling to Bryson City, on the occasion of what has become our annual leaf watching weekend…read morevacation in the fall, we typically route our way to avoid the interstate roads. I call this our "blue highways" route, after the book by William Least Heat Moon. The rules are to only take routes that on the old atlas maps were "blue", and to stop and read any historical markers or signs. We like U.S. 76 through Westminster and Long Creek into Clayton. The point is, however, about 5 years ago, on a similar trip, we discovered the Clayton Cafe and it has become a planned destination for us along the way. The whole little township is lovely, with several interesting shops (esp. Butler Galleries). So, we have been here 6-7 times, and never been disappointed. But today, we were running late. We looked up the hours, which were 9AM to 3PM and perfect for our 1:45PM later arrival. Surprisingly, the restaurant was crowded at this late lunch hour. We were immediately seated at the only available 4 top. It was packed. The restaurant has two outdoor two tops, 2 indoor two tops, and eleven indoor 4 tops, for a max seating of 52. By 1:55, there was a wait list! People were even being turned away, and all different age groups were present, but the overall crowd was 50+, probably due to the peak fall foliage weekend, even though it was Thursday. There were even a few take out orders picked up. After prompt service and ordering, our food arrived at 2:05, about a 15 minute wait, which was impressive for the busy kitchen. I've written other reviews in the food and they all still stand. In fact, I realize that I go heavy here on the choice because it is so good. This time, as predictable, my order was the country fried steak, mashed potatoes, white sawmill gravy, collard greens and a biscuit. Five stars. Even though the steak and gravy was a little saltier than my current palate's liking, it was exactly the way it is supposed to be... I'm watching the salt in my older age, no fault of the chef's. Our tradition of the Clayton Cafe is now 6 years running g and we may just work this into a destination day trip. The nearby Tallulah Gorge is a nice attraction to add to our main event of the Clayton Cafe lunch. P.S. If fried chicken livers are the special, then the country fried steak will have to be "next time." And they do have plenty of healthy options, salads, a full breakfast menu, sandwiches, burgers, but we are here for the Southern Classics.

The salad bar was pretty sad, as the lettuce was limp and some brown throughout. The other items at the salad bar were old and not maintained. Our server, while initially warm, seemed bothered that we only ordered one large pan along with cheesy garlic bread. The garlic bread was simply tossed on a plate, one stacked on another, with bits of crust and cheese on the plate. No care whatsoever. The pan pizza was slightly underdone and the crust was dry. The server never checked in on us and spent a considerable amount of time outside on a cellphone. None of the tables had paper towel rolls and we only had the initial one napkin with utensils. Two other tables were seated and initially cared for, then the waitress went outside for a solid ten minutes. The cooks seemed to enjoy phone breaks outside frequently as well. The waitress showed some attitude to the wife upon seeing 15% tip. Not good. This will be our last visit until the management, owner, or corporate makes some drastic changes.

I saw two women working on food, and the 3 younger guys from the parking lot standing around and staring at the order screens. Guy 1 came over to take my order, and I explained that I was waiting on a drive thru order but didn't want to block the lane any longer. He discussed my order with another guy, they stared at the screens some more, and then guy 1 came back over and asked if I was ready to place my order. I couldn't help myself, I just laughed.
