We were driving around in the morning and wanted a quick breakfast. Many of the locals had long lines. We went to HH and has about a two minute wait then were seated. Took a few more minutes to place our order of coffee, pancakes, sausage, and a gravy biscuit. The place was full but people were coming and going quickly. It's a diner, right? Food came out fairly fast. Megan loved her pancakes. Said they were perfect for what she wanted right now. My gravy biscuit was a bit bland but I guess that's the style for a gravy biscuit. It would have improved with a couple sausage patties. The coffee was typical diner coffee. Breakfast was only $20 which I guess today is not a bad price for decent food and quick service of food served to you. read more

This is the second time we've eaten here in the past 8 years and it's always a let down. I'm this instance I came in with a friend and we ordered food to go since we had our dog with us. We sat outside and my friend went in to order for us. She ordered the "two egg" breakfast and I had the hash brown bowl with sausage and biscuit. The server who helped us was very kind and friendly and professional and even brought our food outside to us and my friend tipped her very well for being so nice. Problem is we got back to the condo and her "two egg breakfast" had NO EGGS, and my hash brown bowl had NO HASHBROWNS! Unsatisfactory indeed. For you all coming to Helen, take the drive to the Huddle House down the road in Cleveland, much better location and worth the drive. read more

Smells heavenly! Always a seat available each time I visited. Friendliest people, delicious food. I had a bowl with home fried potatoes, gravy, eggs, bacon, & shredded potatoes. It was excellent, cooked perfectly, & a great price. The only restaurant in the area allowing take out food. Open the latest also it seemed. Dog friendly if you order to go & eat it on their patio around the corner. I sat at the breakfast counter & thoroughly loved speaking with the waitress. Lovely, friendly people. Nice place to stop for Breakfast after church on Sunday morning. Dixie was our waitress and she did a very good job. The little girl in the next table fell in love with Dixie. Good was good my wife had the sausage, egg with Sausage Gravy on top. Stacked with hash browns, then applewood bacon eggs then topped with sausage gravy. She liked it and enjoyed it. A little more than one person can eat. I had the Philly cheese steak omelette and it was very good also. All the veggies were cooked well and it tasted good also. Hash browns were not like Waffle House over done and small portion. After the surge plenty of empty tables to clean did not seem like any effort went into that till customers came in so they had to wait for tables to be cleaned. Angels, the lot of them. They took us in half an hour until close without a single complaint (I know, I know, I swear we offered to leave so as to not inconvenience them; We arent 'those' kind of people usually) but they insisted we stay and served us a delicious hot meal. We were in and out before close. Julia was an absolute sweetheart and I gotta say 15/10 service and major thumbs up on sweetness and professionalism. Service was very quick. By the time we sat and ordered our food our drinks and food were all out in less than 10 minutes. I had ordered a side of bacon and while I prefer my bacon extra crispy I'm not opposed to it being a little less than crispy but it came out practically raw. Every time we are in Helen we make sure to stop by the only Huddle House we enjoy going to. The staff here have always been so kind and accommodating. Even after covid with the short staff and running out of certain foods the staff is always so apologetic even though it's not their fault. Service wonderful. Food comforting. Food was ok for the most part, and the servers did check on us fairly often. Order was brought out with bacon instead of the sausage I ordered. Also, I asked to substitute 2 biscuits for the gravy and biscuits on my order, and they said sure. When it came time to pay the bill, they charged me for 2 biscuits (not thoroughly cooked), that was almost $6 after tax. I wasn't in the mood to bring this up. I just wanted out of there. read more

While, the food was good, the floors were very slippery and greasy. there were several waitresses sitting at the counter brushing their hair and braiding it while people were sitting behind them at the booth. I have been to many Huddle Houses in my day , and even this one as a kid. Recently I found myself back in Helen, GA so I wanted to take a trip down memory lane with some pancakes. There is a big debate between which is better: Huddle House of Waffle House, and I'm not here to settle that, but I will say that Huddle House serves a fire pancake and Waffle House can't compete with that. Anyway, Huddle House is set up pretty much just like a Waffle House. It's got a long bar in the in the center to sit at and outlying tables surrounding the restaurant. The short order cooks are constantly whipping up food so you order doesn't take long. I ordered blueberry pancakes with sausage. I also ordered a side of potatoes with the works which is cheese, ham, green peppers, onions and tomatoes. To be honest, I didn't love the sausage. It was the round kind, which isn't my favorite. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy and full of blueberries. So many blueberries and I liked my potatoes too. The staff was really friendly and even gave me a to-go tea as I left. I'm glad I stopped by for a quick bite. Definitely made me remember some times I'd been here in the past and the meal was tasty. read more

My family was up here on vacation. There were 5 adults and 1 child. The food was delicious! Our server Deanne was fantastic. She was attentive and knew the menu. Deanne was also very personable and friendly. The only downside is if you have a larger group you will be split up because most tables only accommodate 4-5 people. read more

Typical Huddle House in Bavarian Look alike A coworker of mine and his girlfriend used to occasionally drive down from Statesville on the weekend to Helen and since then, I've always wanted to visit this little taste of Bavaria in Northeast Georgia. Each time we go to Marietta to see the Grandkids my wife insists we have to get back to Charlotte, generally to watch football or pick up the dog. Today we had a little extra time because we left Kennesaw at 6am and got to Helen at 7:40. Hofer's opens at 8 am but since she had been glancing at her watch the whole time on the drive up, I settled for Huddle House. The exterior is made over like the rest of the Village to look like a small Bavarian, Austrian or Swiss Mountain Town to the point where the exterior of the Huddle House fits it. Walked in an the interior is all American Huddle House. Grabbed a table. Menu's were already there. Server was there in less than a minute to bring table settings. She asked if we wanted Coffee to which both of us replied yes. Coffee was there in less that a minute also. It was nice and fresh and very hot. Great way to start off the day. I ordered the Smothered Chicken Tender Biscuit, which was a split biscuit, a Chicken Tender, some bacon and eggs and hash browns covered with White Gravy. Very good a filling. My wife had a more traditional eggs, bacon and hash browns with a side of fruit. Also very good and filling. Service was excellent and we never wanted for coffee. Food was standard Huddle House and while filling and what we needed to start of the day, nothing extraordinary. Very clean on the inside and rest rooms were also clean and neat as well although no paper towels. They do have an electric hand dryer but I needed a paper towel to wipe off a spot of gravy from my shirt and one was not available. read more

Great little dinner spot for breakfast. My family ate at Huddle House for breakfast and it has a very classic diner feel. The menu features everything you'd expect from a diner, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, hash browns. All of the eggs we order were cooked perfectly, bacon was crisp, and the pancakes were the absolute best, fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Visited this restaurant for breakfast. Let me preface this review by saying my wife and oldest daughter are not breakfast people. The waitress came and took our order and brought our drinks right away. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of food in the menu, and both my wife and daughter found something they thought they would enjoy. Our food arrived and was very tasty!
