Since writing my original review the owner of this Chick-Fil-A location reached out to me, and it's very clear he wants his Free Standing Unit to be one of Chick-Fil-A's best. He understands the parking lot is tight and he's working on trying to make some improvements. And he will be adjusting some training promptly to immediately improve the customer experience along with making some other changes. In the interest of full disclosure he offered to send me free meal coupons, and it was tempting. But in the end all I wanted was to know the next time I get to Amarillo...and I fully intend to go back, that I can stop at this Chick-Fil-A and have a great spicy chicken sandwich in a clean location with great service. I really like Chick-Fil-A in general, but this is a particularly nice one. Even with long lines, they still get you through quickly, and get your order RIGHT and fresh. They are really polite and nice, and genuinely so (not just doing what the company tells them to say). This one seems particularly popular, and thus is well-maintained and clean. read more

This chick-fil-a goes out of their way to provide SUPERIOR service to guests. Saturday, I stopped by for my daughter & neice, the drive up was crazy busy so we parked & went in to order to-go. We ordered & the guy that brought out our food was AMAZING! I don't remember his name because he said his nametag was wrong, maybe Matt? He walked us out & carried our food for us. He complimented & spoke to my 3 year old daughter all the way to our car. When we got the the car, he opened the doors & put the food in the passenger side & then walked all the way back around to open my door for me! I could not say "Thank you" enough times. Whoever is training the staff at chick-fil-a deserves a medal! The fast food industry is not the only business that could stand to learn a few things from the way things are done at this restaurant. WOW. Hubby and I are traveling to San Diego for Christmas. .. stopped here for lunch. Yikes! the drive thru line was backed up into the street! ! It was extremely packed! We decided to go in, even though that was the case. .. had our heart set on that sandwich! Long line inside. . But it went really qui ck! I asked the girl "is it always this busy? " she replied "always" We went and sat down, in not even a minute, here comes our food! It was hot. It was SO DELICIOUS! The whole time we were eating, the drive thru never once stopped, it was constant people! I am just amazed by how this chik-fil-a operated with non stop customers and their food was on point! Twice this week I have been asked to pull forward and wait on my food. Both times over 10 minute waits. Still sitting here today, and we are at 15 minutes. Orders aren't complicated, food for me and a 3 yr old. Don't make people pull forward so your window times appear good to supervisors and superiors. Chic-fil-A is a great place to get your food if you are in a rush. The employees are very helpful and get your food to you fast. The lemonade is real and tastes fantastic and and I love there chicken. With the chicken I get Chick-fil-A sauce. I always get a kids meal so I can trade in my toy for ice cream that is free. This is my favorite location in Amarillo and also my first yelp review. The employees are friendly and helpful. The food is consistently good and my go to is grilled nuggets always fresh and hot. The location is clean and recently remodeled. I feel that for the value my family gets a great meal. Americas favorite restaurant? Not this one! We stopped at the one on s Coulter in Amarillo Texas. The line at the drive up we selected moved incredibly slow as the other line moved right along. That is how our frustrating experience began. I ordered the meal with the fruit cup substituted which I did not get. Strike 2. We were the 4th car in line when we received our food. We sat there in the 100 degree heat in the car for over 15 minutes. It was long enough to finish our meal. They were holding everyone in our line up for an order that was delayed for the first car in line. They must have held up 10 cars for this one car. Why would they do that to their customers? Why wouldn't they ask that car to pull over to a parking spot like other drive up fast food chains? The entire ordering experience took over 30 minutes. We will not be back to any of these stores anywhere in the country. Management should take notice. read more

Management at this restaurant is garbage. I have requested a call from a manager since Saturday. Filed 3 complaints with corporate and keep getting a response that my "concern" is being passed on. A "manager" on Saturday royally messed up and she corrected but got wrong 4 TIMES. Turns out she is not manager and when I asked to speak to one she told me she was the one on duty. She was a Team Lead by the way. Called to speak to manager and got her then magically the "manager" manifested over the phone. Being lied to my face then being played with over the phone is totally unacceptable. It doesn't end there. She passed part of my order the third time BACK THROUGH THE PASS to the people in the back (health hazard) so they could just repackage the crap they got wrong. After being told. I would have to accept my two separate orders being stuffed in one box??? These are fir two SEPARATE people??? She then said I called her "dumb". EXCUSE ME??? I am not in elementary school. My vocabulary is far more colorful and "dumb" is not my word of choice. It would have been more harsh. The so calked manager guy saud his manager is on vacation for the next two weeks and her boss the franchisee " does NOT speak" to customers. I have been insulted and they don't care. The food is great! However, we dined in... bad idea at 8:30 pm... the cleaning crew... moving chairs and tables to mop was very uncomfortable and loud.... I'm surprised that they would be cleaning at 8:30 with a full dining room when they close at 10pm... horrible dining experience! It amazes me how many people can go through the drive through or inside and they get the orders right such a large amount of the time. Our office is off Georgia so we eat here frequently for breakfast and lunch. I can tell you that I don't remember them getting my order wrong even when they are so busy that there is not an empty table and people are standing around. If you are going to chick fil a in Amarillo, make sure you make it this one. They are by a long shot the fastest running a well oiled machine to get you thru fast even during lunch rush. You know those wonderful stories about chick fil a helping out snow stranded people traveling? This one did not get the message. After driving for five hours, most of it in white out conditions, we arrived at the store at 10am. There were several workers inside but they "were not opening until 1030" because of the snow (this store typically opens at 630 am!) They also would not even let us use the restroom or wait inside. So my three year old daughter and five year old son would have had to wait even longer for a break. We ended up driving across the street to market street for a bite to eat and to use the restroom but by that point my daughter couldn't hold it any longer and had an accident. I'm a die hard chick fil a fan, but this location really dropped the ball and forgot the standards of hospitality so many of their other stores stand by. Very disappointed. read more
