I'm so excited to finally have Chicha in Dallas! Although I wouldn't wait 1-2 hours for boba here, I do enjoy Chicha when there's a realistic wait. Since I've been to Chicha before, I did skip it the first week when the line was out the door. 2 weeks later, it appears the hype died down and they added a kiosk which speeds things up. At this location, I've tried the green tea with cream, bubble milk tea, taro milk tea with green tea, the passion fruit, green tea with honey and oolong with honey. I'm a milk tea girly and shockingly, I didn't like their milk teas. The tea gets watered down and isn't as fragrant with the milk. The past few time I've been, they had the green tea with honey as the sample. It's perfectly sweetened, light, fragrant and I love the strong green tea flavor. I feel like the oolong is the same with a stronger tea flavor. The passion fruit is good too if you like fruity. If you like taro, although not my favorite, it is good with taro chunks and taro balls. I feel like a lot of the negative feedback is be aside of their wait for soft opening versus their actual drink. They specialize in tea and their boba is perfectly cooked. Also, I really like that they measure everything precisely with a scale so I know my drink is consistent. Overall, I really like this location and it's super spacious and beautiful inside if you want to sit and mingle with friends. read more

To quote my friend "the tea tastes like tea, and the boba tastes like boba." It might not sound like a high compliment at the surface level, but it truly does say a lot about the quality of the drinks here if you think about it, just like how Asians regard the best desserts as "not too sweet". The tea here is brewed fresh using the latest technology, visible to the public, and the boba remained in perfect chewy texture even after sitting in the ice for an hour. I personally tried the DongDing Oolong bubble tea and the Honey Osmanthus Oolong tea. Both exceeded my expectations, despite the long wait during opening month. It was still worth it! I can't wait till a branch opens in Houston! Pro tip: If you wish to skip the long line, there is a machine by the entryway that most people seem to skip over where you can place your order. I've been to several Chicha San Chen locations, and this is definitely the nicest one! You can tell they put a lot of effort into the design and atmosphere. Since the store is fairly new, there was a bit of a wait for our drinks, but nothing too bad. If you're a fan of boba tea with a strong tea flavor, this place is for you! So happy Chicha San Chen brought their award-winning teas to DFW! True to Texas, the interior is more spacious than other locations I've visited. Despite the busy new plaza, there's ample parking. We appreciated the recommendations--the first decision to make is whether you want something milky or fruity. The teas are weighed and brewed to order, and you can't go wrong. I went with a seasonal peach oolong tea which was refreshing, and I'd like to come back to try a milk tea. Regular sweetness was ok for me but could maybe have taken it down a notch. The Boba is very soft and has a nice sweet flavor to it. The cream isn't too sweet. There's a nice fragrant tea flavor! VIBES this place is really pretty with its ceiling decorations, as well as the ambient lighting. They have plenty of seating inside from benches to tables. Seems like a great place to study, but with the first couple weeks of it opening, it's very very crowded and a little bit on the louder side. SERVICE Service is pretty good! Really strong, quality tea- I'm super sensitive to caffeine and this had my hands shaking after loll. You can customize your drink with different flavors and toppings. The interior was also so nice and modern and spacious! On the pricier side for boba but it's very quality tea. read more

Since they opened in Jan 2025, I've come back at least 3-4 times to see if they've gotten any better. Nope. Every time, the tea flavor is just super diluted/not strong enough. I usually get High Mountain Pouchong Tea or Dong Ding Oolong Tea with mousse. I've had to ask them to remake the drinks but still the remakes are not good. I'm usually a fan of Chicha's mousse but not at the Carrollton location. They can never get the mousse correct (something about its consistency is off and the mousse doesn't taste good). I've also tried their teas with cream and it just tastes like straight up milk (no tea flavor at all). This is such a disappointment as their other locations are way better. read more

Chicha San Chen has one of the best teas I've tried in Dallas! I got the Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea with Boba. The boba was a little harder than what I would've liked, but the tea was very delicious. Today was their grand opening and it was packed. The place is pretty big and lots of room for seating while you wait. The line moved pretty quick to order. I ordered the high noon green tea and a hot osmabthus oolong tea. Both were delicious. We waited for about 30 min for our drinks but it was worth it. This place was packed, and there was a line to order. There is a self order kiosk and someone at the counter. It is very loud because it's crowded, but they have a screen to monitor your order number, showing what's in progress and which are ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. It was interesting to see the tea extraction machines. They also have offer tea tasting, but the lady was not interested in talking to us. The drinks were great. We had the dong ding oolong tea latte with boba at their perfect sweetness (70%) and the high mountain pouchong tea with orange. The boba and milk tea were the best! I've been here twice already and the tea is lovely, fragrant, floral, and the sweetness level is perfect at light (30%). I've had the regular pearl milk tea (black tea) and the ding dong oolong, and they're both fine. I think the black tea was more fragrant. The pearls were excellent both times - nice, thick and chewy. This area is about an hour from me, so the luckily hood of me dropping in while there's so many other options is sorta slim. Noise level is average. The interior is extremely beautiful and has a museum-like feel to the place. They have cute carriers that aren't common at most boba shops. The tea is good but definitely overhyped. Sad about my experience today. I feel that they're too strict with their drinks. I tried to order a Creamy Lemon Tart drink with boba today and was told that i couldn't bc the drink has mousse that won't hold well with boba? Also, not lots of options on customizing a drink either (ie can only get on topping and one flavor, you can't do boba and grass jelly even if you pay for it). They are super new and popular! If I wasn't already waiting an hour for the restaurant across the street I likely wouldn't wait this long for tea, but I'm glad I tried it! They have some unique tea flavors that other local tea places don't seem to offer. My husband and I each tried one and they were very refreshing, tea forward, fresh, and paired well with the flavor and toppings we chose in addition. My only complaint is that the line was a little confusing. It had wrapped around the waiting area behind the front register where there is also a self order kiosk. This is the prettiest and largest location I've ever been to after visiting the one in Austin and Vancouver. Their teas are meticulously brewed and so consistent, it tastes exactly the same every where I go. They call their default sugar level 'perfect sweetness' and as someone who always has to lower the sugar level at other boba shops, it was perfect for me. Wow!!! I was so excited for this location to open and went to the first day of the soft opening (1/25)! We were very early and in the front of the line so able to not have to wait in the cold too long. Just like their other locations, you choose a tea base, flavoring, and toppings. The perfect sweetness level is what you want 99% of the time. It's balanced so it's not too sweet, although if you don't mix your boba we'll enough into the tea, sometimes the sweetness of the boba can surprise you. Otherwise I love the tree in the center with bench seating and when the weather's warmer I'm excited about all the patio seating available.
