This is easily one of my top vegan spots in Orange County. It is located in Downtown Fullerton. Parking wasn't too difficult to find on the street. It is nice and cozy inside with beautiful artwork inside. It is women owned and operated. We decided on trying the Asada and Al Pastor Tacos. Each taco was $3. Both tacos were absolutely delicious! We also ordered the Loaded Nachos ($14.75) and got asada as our protein. It came with chips, beans, cashew nacho cheese, sour cream, pico and guacamole. Everything we tried was so good! I'm not vegan, but I came here for dinner with a friend who is. I'm not well-versed in vegan food, so I was really, really nervous to try this place. And I must say, I was SO pleasantly surprised. I had 2 "asada" tacos, and while the "meat" didn't really remind me of real asada (in either taste or texture), I really didn't mind and still liked it a lot! We also ordered some guacamole, which to be honest, could have used some seasoning. It was more like just some mashed avocado. First visit, came for taco Tuesday and got one of each protein: asada, al pastor, carnitas and mexigogi. The mexigogi was so good, sweet and spicy. The al pastor was spicy and delicious. All 4 were great. The hot red creamy salsa is pretty spicy too but love it. Looking forward to trying other food items. The person who took my order was super friendly. Chicana Vegana just celebrated their one year anniversary at this location! They are opened for indoor dining . It's a small restaurant so there's one large table with 7 seats and three small tables that seat two people. There's patio seating in the back but I think customers have to go all the way around to access it. I've always eaten inside or got take out so I never asked. They're located in downtown Fullerton and their restaurant is in a convenient location because you can find parking anywhere. Been wanting to try their Mexgogi fries for the longest time but they're always sold out every time I go. I went with the Asada fries and two shrimp tacos. My mom had the classic burger with seasoned fries. A must try there are their desserts. I love their tres leche cake and even ordered the whole cake for my birthday last year. I contacted @dulcebychicana on Instagram to pre order. My mom tried the flan. I love their food and my mom enjoyed what she ordered. All their food are always seasoned so well. The desserts were perfect per usual. My mom ate her flan so fast. Customer service is always great and the restaurant is always clean. I love the decor especially the superhero. There's one gender neutral bathroom for customers to use. They have accessories available on their website. I will be back soon for more food :) read more

Oh heck ya Yelp you did good this time! Immediately greeted by one of the friendliest employees- good sign. Music was not blaring loud so ambiance was inviting- another good sign. And then came the food- carnitas signature fries, 3 Al pastor tacos and a wet burrito with asada - red sauce. The Al pastor was good- a little on the sweet side but that's pretty average. The asada burrito was good- sauce is hot (my bad I ordered it that way and know better) but the flavor was there. But ohhh the carnitas fries- how I will miss you daily until we go back again! Crispy jackfruit carnitas flavored well, cheese sauce that is spicy- not hot spicy but flavored well and isn't grainy and guacamole that tasted just right! I have no words to describe how throughly pleased I am to have come across this establishment. Nothing comes to mind other than:perfection. By far some of the, if not THE best, vegan food I've tried. Far better than any "real" meat utilized for an equivalent Mexican meal from what I last remember ever ordering. Every bite was loaded with just so much flavor - sweet, savory, spicy, just amazing. I was coming off day 3 of WonderCon. We were exhausted & hungry. I picked up some snacks from a local vegan vendor after the con. I asked her for food recommendation. She said Chicana Vegana was her favorite local place. It looked so good & we were starving at this point. Parking was full, but not horrible for Sunday evening. The locale was small with small tables, so not good for groups. Apart from that, the vibes were cute & good. Cashier was nice with a great smile. The restroom was clean. Food was ready fairly quick. All the food was good. Nothing outstanding; still delicious. The vegan Al Pastor was one of the better ones I've had. My friend who is not vegan was happy with his tacos. SO GOOD!! Didn't taste vegan at all They prepared my order very fast too. It only took them 5 minutes :) Out of the three street tacos my favorite is the Carnitas. It's made out of Jackfruit. It's super juicy and to be honest I thought it was the 'real' Carnitas. The Asada is soy-based. It tasted just like the real asada! The Al Pastor has a chili flavor to it. It's a little bit on the sweeter side. Not my favorite, but it's pretty good (tasted a little BBQ-ey). This is also soy-based. Mild green salsa was also excellent - it's on the saltier side and has a little kick to it. Would love to try the hot one next time. Chicana Vegana is your badass Latina friend who loves animals AND Mexican food. The menu is vegan California/Mexican and local vegans are passionate about recommending their personal favorites. There is a social-media-background-worthy mural of a Latina heroine complete with pigtails, animal sidekicks, and a luchadora mask on the interior wall and a cute patio out back for dining. I forgot to take photos but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FOOD THEY HAVE HERE. Everyone has been very nice and helpful too. I love the tacos they have and perfer to get a scoop of guacamole on top. If it was a bit healthier, I would eat there everyday, but it is definitly more of a splerging type of place. I also love their Philly Melt and I think everyone should try that first if they like mushrooms. Their food can be messy, but it always tastes great!! Food portions are also great! Never went hungry leaving. The place is very colorful and my only complaint would be that they have so little space to eat inside. They have only like 6 tables and everything is made of wood so not as comfortable, but the design definately adds to the cool design. Also, as a heads up, they do change out their desserts a lot so do not expect them to have the same desserts everytime you go! Finally, my only hope for this place is that they get with a delivery service place because I can not find them at all on Ubereats, grubhub, or Doordash. Great place would give 4.7/5! read more

I was excited to try the Cali vegan burrito because it looked really good through pictures and was filled with fries (bonus!). The burger was packed with protein, fries, cheese, & avocados - so it was pretty filling. I was disappointed that their food lacked flavor. Although the ingredients were good, there wasn't any sauce or seasonings added to flavor the food so it tasted pretty bland. Overall, not my favorite vegan food place to eat at. It's a pretty popular restaurant in the area. As soon as it opened it was packed. The service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either I'll just assume because it was busy that was the reason it was easy for the employee to get overwhelmed and frustrated. My California Burrito was pretty dry it either didn't come with sour cream the way I thought it would or they just forgot. I also got a western burger... now that one was worth the drive. I literally want one just thinking about it lol 10/10. Overall my rating as a whole is because the service wasn't great and I left frustrated about my burrito. Honestly, love this place. It's on my top 5 list of places I consistently eat at. I always get THE HOTTY (burger) and ANIMAL-LESS fries. The flavor of the burger is impeccable. It's just the right amount of spiciness for me. And healthy fries that resemble IN N OUT?! For a while I wasn't eating dairy and you have no idea how much seeing this on the menu meant to me. Sooooo good. I found my vegan taco place in the LA area, and now I found my Orange County place. Just look at the picture. No one would ever know these were vegan asada tacos. I fooled everyone I showed them too. And the taste -texture, flavor, tortillas, presentation, all on point. This cute little place has parking at meters and on the side streets. You can order ahead for pick up. Make sure you get the hot sauce because you can't have street tacos without the hot sauce. The decor is very Instagram worthy so if you can snap your tacos in front of the wall it makes for a great pic. Highly recommend. My friend even thought these were better than the real meat asada tacos she got elsewhere. read more
