The old backdoor was, kind of, a joke, because it didn't really close and cold wind could come in…read moreeasily and one could clearly see that was extremely outdated. I contacted "American Thermal Window Products" and wanted to get this house project rolling before 2022 came. Unfortunately, due to labor and material shortages, I was informed the door installation would be at least a three-month wait. Hey, that wasn't the company's fault and I always received a good service and prompt responses from the office. Nick was assigned to get in touch with me for an estimate. Nick and everyone else in the office were very friendly. Nick explained everything about the estimate (free in-person estimate) and answered any questions we had. He emphasized that everyone involving with the installation process worked for the company. With that being said, there would be no third party contractors hired off the street! I understood the virtue of using the company employees. I have been part of the gig economy for some times. I wouldn't say the contractors wouldn't do a job, yet there could be a lack of accountability on their part of work certainly. In late February 2022, I received a voicemail from Linda and immediately called the office. She scheduled the installation date for me and provided an arrival window. The crew came in prepared within the window and was ready to work! The installation was rather quick. The cleaning was thorough. Everything was painless. The crew leader told us that adjustment could be made if there was a need. That door...let me tell ya...was a godsent. It helped conserve the heat. It did have an energy-star icon, for those who are into the energy-efficient appliances. It is also esthetically pleasing. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I'm going to inspect the windows for the rest of the house and to see if I can get "American Thermal Window Products" involved again.

I chose American Thermal Window because they provided a good quote on two windows going in the…read morebasement bedroom. Originally reached out to American Thermal Window in early August for two windows and was told by Kellie, the sales rep who picked up my call, I could expect them 5 weeks after placing the deposit. After a month of not hearing anything I called and was transferred to Tim at the warehouse who told me the windows would be ready the week of September 21st. Shortly after Kellie emailed to tell me it would actually be October 20th and no one at American Thermal Window could tell me the cause of the delay. Now I'm waiting another 3 weeks for the installation crew to install them when I've had two holes in the house for the new windows for over a month because I was told they would be ready back in September. While a delay between window manufacturing and installation is to be expected, the lack of communication is unacceptable.

Our condo board had a brilliant idea several years ago to force all unit owners to pay a special…read moreassessment to get all unit doors replaced from a single supplier to standardize the installations/specs. Shockingly, after just a few years, many doors throughout the building started coming apart and of course the board disavowed any responsibility for fixing the problems or offering any sort of help or assistance, leaving unit owners on their own to figure out the required specs and arrange to find someone to replace their door. Thankfully someone in the building found Costello Carpentry and recommended him to someone who then recommended him, and so on and so forth, and he has been a true miracle worker throughout our building. When my door started falling apart several owners reached out to recommend him and now I am happy to add my voice to the chorus of glowing praise. He was very responsive from the first phone call and knew exactly what was needed and was able to work with the building's management to get the replacement approved and scheduled, which is no mean feat as in addition to a board that clearly cannot make good decisions, the management company they hired is impossible for any owner to work with (I won't name names but it's the FIRST company you would think of that manages RESIDENTIAL high rises throughout the city). Dan cut through a lot of obstructions to get this project done as quickly and easily as possible. He was a true professional and made this a very stress-free process.
