That would be Good Plumbing. Scheduled an appointment for the next day and plumber was at my door shortly after the scheduled time. Described my two issues (needed the toilet wax ring replaced and a leaky shower faucet). He replaced the ring in about 20 minutes. He said that the previous plumber didn't set the ring correctly so he made sure the toilet was set by using an 2nd ring. Above and beyond! As to the 2nd issue of the leaky shower faucet, he checked it out and said it would require a new cartridge but he didn't have the part nor the approval to turn off the water to do the job right. No problem, he gave me an honest answer and quote so that I was informed should I schedule another appointment for repair. To boot, they took $50 off for the Yelp discount for the ring replacement.

They convey what needs to be done in simple English that someone outside the industry like me would understand. If it's a service call that required only a quick fix, they may not even charge you. Second, they are very responsive, organized, and friendly. They have enough resources and manpower to tackle the same day for routine repairs and troublefixes. Third, what they repair and install is top of the line quality and craftmanship. Even if they were to lower their standards, you still wouldn't be able to find better plumbers in Chicago.

The HVAC check seemed like everything was fine, but they used it as a sales op to try and sell me new furnace and humidifier, which was working fine at the time (and continues to function 4 years later). Thankfully their 1-year VIP service was the most valuable part of it, because one of the joins for the new water heaters started leaking again almost 12 months later. However, when they came out, they couldn't get the water main to close in our unit, so they quoted me to replace it as an additional cost instead. We said no, and gradually loosened the water main valve to the point where we could get it to close. We believe it was debris from the water main for the building being shut off multiple times for other work recently. Once we resolved that issue, we were able to get them to actually repair their failing original work at no cost. Not sure I would recommend.

He arrived at 10:00 am and at 1:15 he said he could not unclog the drain because of a broken pipe and I need to pay another $16.000 to fix the drain. So he left with $1,549 and still had no working shower or toilet. I called Martin Plumbing in Tinley Park and he came out and unclogged the drain within an hour for $275. Martin Plumbing said there are no broken pipes. Martin Plumbing had my shower and toilet working. I ordered my Gerber Avalanche toilet from Homedepot.com and when it arrived, Chicago City Wide Sewer installed the next day. Rob was here on time and it took mere minutes to have the old toilet out. I think he arrived and left in about 40 minutes or less! The toilet was perfectly installed and was rock solid, didn't budge. By 2pm, I had new faucet hardware replaced, my tub and bathroom sink had been rodded, and the sink received new PVC plumbing and a new coupling as well. (Hope I spelled that right). Fast, friendly, professional, effective, efficient, and reliable are just a few of the words to describe Captain Rooter. Oz, the plumber, was phenomenal! Alek and Chris came out to address the issue, and showed us what was going on, as well as why it happened. They were great to talk with, as well as educate us a bit on plumbing, as this is an area both my wife and I are not experts in at all. The fix was prompt, and I feel very relieved and overly satisifed by the job they did, and how quickly they did it. I can't speak too much to value, not knowing too much about the cost of these projects. However, I can say that I was charged the amount that I was initially quoted, which is always appreciated. To me, the amount I paid for the work they did, as well as peace of mind that any potential leaks are addressed, was acceptable. While my basement was flooding, they were at their car doing who knows what. Their insurance formally admitted fault in writing, but are still denying liability. This has become a massive legal headache requiring us to retain an attorney. Avoid this company and it's owner Eugene at all costs. They also do business as AP Construction Inc Chicago Plumber's License: SBC198939 Don't fall for the positive reviews. If/when they mess up, you'll regret having to deal with these unethical people.
