My laptop is poured with juice. I thought I have to replace part of it even though it works fine because of the sticky keyboard. And it will be expensive. I went to this place on Monday and they called me on Tuesday that they cleaned my keyboard. I get my laptop on Wednesday and it works great without sticky keyboard. It's wonderful that I don't need to spend 200 or more to replace the part. I definitely recommend it! read more

This place is outstanding!!!! Really honest terrific people work here! I had my computer fixed here and it was perfect.

I brought my computer in because the computer wasn't turning on, there was a disruption with the power supply. I built my computer so I am some what familiar with how they work. Anyway, I called him at 10 am and by 11 am it was running like a charm. Great customer service, very fair prices and excellent knowledge. Will take all my computers and phones to him from now on. Most importantly he was fast!!!!! read more

Highly recommend. Great service for reasonable price. Geek squad didn't have the diagnostic capabilities of Computerland and quoted a higher price. CL presented me with what was wrong with my computer and the options available. And like I said, price was reasonable and didn't cost me my first born son! read more

Had an older backup hard drive that had a problem and could no longer access data on the drive. Brought it to another business and there it sat for 2 weeks with no progress. Picked up the drive and dropped off at Chicago Computerland and service outstanding. Received a call by the end of the day letting me know they could recover the data. Two days later called and let me know I could pick up data at my convenience. Quick service and very fair pricing. Thanks! read more

Great guys who really know their stuff. I've cracked my iPhone screen a couple of times and it's never been an issue for them to get it up and running in a couple of days. Real friendly service, too. I was actually having some issues with the touchscreen and they opened it up and looked at it for free. Better service at a lower cost than what you'll get sending your stuff back to Apple, I guarantee you that! read more

I brought my Dell PC in expecting the worst, and came out thrilled! Sorin was a huge help! Prices were reasonable, and all my data was saved. As a former IT professional, I highly recommend these guys! read more

I was so upset when my old trusty, MacBook Air stopped working, I got a bum diagnosis from Microcenter and the guy didn't even sound knowledgable. I trusted my gut and went to seek a second opinion. The skilled technician (Sorin?) at ComputerLand kept me informed of the condition, what needed to be done, etc. and he didn't do anything until I gave him the go ahead. I found this place to be professional, swift, and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

This weekend was my second time to trust my laptop to Aldi. Just like last time when my power jack was broken and he installed a new one, his service is quick, efficient, and inexpensive. Within less than 24 hours, a new fan had been installed and Aldi was testing the computer to make sure there were no further problems. Friendly, efficient, effective service. And someone who repairs LAPTOPS...and for very reasonable prices? Can't get better than that. read more

Great service done within two days much better then sending laptop back to manufactures! Good prices as well! Worth the trip to them! I highly recommend. read more

Excellent service. I needed my computer fixed within days as I worked from home and I got I back the day after. So..happy customer. Can't complain. read more

When I took my computer in the gentleman that helped me was very nice. Because of the Christmas holiday he advised it may be a little longer than 48 hours to tell me what was wrong and I was fine with that. Even though they did not repair my computer I thank them for their honesty in advising me it would be better to just buy a new MacBook with warranty rather than repair the one I had. They also gave me advice on where I could sell my MacBook for parts. Thanks guys I was able to get back at least a third of what I paid for it originally. read more

This is the shop for your computer needs. Very professional and helpful. The guys there will listen to your needs and act accordingly. I had to go there twice and was happy with their response both times. The first time they recovered data from my hard drive which I couldn't access. They did it for me as promised, on time. Second I had problems with the charger on my Sony Laptop and Aldi the owner explained my option clearly. I knew what I needed to do and was really happy when I left the shop. I definitely recommend the shop since I have tried other shops but they not even close to this kind of service. read more

Great experience. Stephan was great about keeping me updated. I thought my laptop had a virus, it didn't. He explained what was happening to cause the slow down. The work they did was performed at a fair price, the staff was very nice. read more

Computerland has been a godsend on a couple of occasions. Their prices are incredibly affordable, their service is polite and prompt, and they communicate clearly about what is going wrong and how much it is going to cost. They've given me a discount on a pricey Apple powercord, as well as resurrecting my computer (twice!) from the dead. They will either call or email about the status of the repair, and there is never any question that they are diligently working to bring your machine back up to speed. They have the best prices, the best services, and they even clean every computer they receive before they give it back to you! My computer not only worked wonderfully, it looked brand new. I can't sing their praises enough! read more

I broke the screen on my laptop and they replaced the screen for $160. That's by far the best rate I found and a fraction of the cost of replacing the computer. I simply walked in, they took my computer and information, and had it fixed and ready to go 45 minutes later. Excellent service. read more

The other day I went to turn on my laptop and found my screen was cracked. No fun. Having never taken a computer in for repair, I turned to my trusty friend Internet. This place had way more, and way better reviews than pretty much anywhere else I saw, so I shot them an email to which they responded very quickly. I was pretty much sold when they told me that because they had a replacement screen in stock, they could have it done in about 30 minutes. When I came in I was told the price would be a little higher than I was quoted via email, and that it would be done in an hour, versus 30 minutes. But after explaining the initial quote (and showing the email) they agreed to the original price and time. About 25 minutes later, I got a call- my computer was ready, and my screen is pretty and new. The service was quick and courteous, I definitely recommend them! read more

I went to these guys because of the great Yelp reviews. I had dropped my laptop on its side, right where the adapter/power connects. The plastic bottom frame broke, the screen developed a flicker, and the computer kept shutting down while I was using it. I left it with Computerland for several days. They fixed the screen flicker, but poorly glued the frame (globs of glue visible, frame still broken in several places) and called me to pick it up. I was charged $80. Shortly after I got home, the computer shut down again. I called them and they said they hadn't been able to replicate the shut-down issue. So, I brought it back and left it again. After another several days, I called to check the status. They said they still couldn't get it to shut down unexpectedly. I picked it up again. It still kept shutting down, but I didn't want to leave it again. Then I made the mistake of installing Windows 10, and my computer got stuck in a loop of shut-down/restart. I brought it back, and told them I was still having the shut down issue but also needed help with the Windows 10 install. I suggested maybe the shut down problem was being caused by the adapter/electronic cord causing a short circuit, and asked them to check it. They uninstalled Windows 10 and had to wipe the hard drive to do so. They didn't even mention the shut-down issue. I was charged only $60, which I appreciated. I brought it home in hopes the hard drive wipe cleared up the issue. Alas, it is now completely unusable. I can't even get it to stay on. Computerland employees argued with me in every interaction, took forever with it even though they knew I needed it for work, and treated me like I was lying about the problems it was having (why would I want something fixed if it's not broken?). I was always very nice, a good listener, and honest about what I did with it so I don't know why they gave me such a hard time. The overall result is I paid $140, spent multiple trips, and was without my laptop for two weeks, all to have no repairs actually done. I had nowhere close to the experience of other reviewers, and I wish I knew why. read more

Sharif essentially saved me$800 today. My son sat on my Mac Book Pro screen and where Micro-center quoted me $700.00 and 5-7 days for repair. Sharif did it for $300 and with in 45min. Sharif was a life saver today! read more

In a few words - honesty, efficiency and excellent customer service. In a few more words - My computer was overheating badly, so I stopped by the store just to ask (I think the owner) what the problem could be, and the cost for a repair. I was told most likely the paste was dried out on the heat sink and would need to be replaced. A few days later I came back with the laptop - which at this point would simply boot up, display a cooling fan warning - and then shut back down. The owner explained that it also may need a new cooling fan, which he probably had in stock. I got an estimate for both possibilities (clean out the dust and fix the heat sink only) for $80, or do all of that and replace the fan for $120. Turnaround time would be a day for just cleaning and re-pasting - a few more if it needed a fan and it turned out he had to order it. I also got a good explanation about the laptop's cooling process and why my last HP's video repeatedly would mess up (using one heat sink for CPU and Video overheated the latter). The next day I got a call - it was ready. It just needed a cleaning and new paste. When I got to the store we tested it and it ran like a charm - 40 to 50 degrees instead of the 95 degrees and above it was hitting previously. I would recommend Chicago ComputerLand to anyone who needs work done on their computer. read more

There is never a good time to have a computer problem! I started getting messages that the CPU fan could not be detected. My regular computer guy who is in the suburbs suggested that I take my desktop system to a closer technician. I Googled computer repair in zip code 60614 and found Chicago Computerland just a few blocks away. I took my computer to this location and it was fixed in one day. Sorin was very helpful in explaining their costs and what they would do to insure that the problem was fixed. In addition I had the system cleaned. When I picked it up the following day Sorin demonstrated that the system's new fan worked. The CPU was perfectly clean - like brand new. Worth the money! read more

This is a great repair shop, all CompTIA certified technicians and really know their stuff. I work with custom built computers and needed someone who understands what a RAID configuration is. I was referred to this place by John Cummings, the man who does my tune-ups, remotely, and I knew he wouldn't steer me wrong. He didn't. I became extremely nervous when my 10 year old Macbook was not holding a charge, it was acting strange, heating up, etc. i was on hold forever with apple to schedule appt. for possible repair and became even more nervous that my computer would crash, lose everything and nothing was backed up! i found Chicago Computerland, close to my house. They told me to come right in. These guys were great, seemed knowledgeable, and thought they could fix it. assessment fee was reasonable 17.00 if i chose not to do the work. they contacted me with their estimate and to see if i wanted them to fix it in 2 days. They told me they had to order battery but should be fixed by the end of week. For reasonable 200.00 i have my computer back and can put off buying new for awhile and at least have time to back up stuff. i asked them about my having trouble with my external hard drive in order to back up stuff and they offered to reset it at no cost. These guys are great and can be trusted to do the job right at a fare price. read more

Highly recommended. In the last five years, these guys have helped me with every problem from a broken left mouse button and a damaged power-cord jack to damaged USB ports, a broken screen, and damaged keys--and they have been amazing each and every time. They have been informative and honest (even informing me that, for less than the price of having the mouse button repaired or USB ports replaced, I could buy a USB plug-in mouse or multi-USB-port at Radioshack if I wanted). They charge fair prices and have been helpful on countless occasions. I am very thankful that Aldi, Stefan, and company are here in Chicago doing the work that they do. read more

I went to this store to fix my laptop. I had an idea that it might be a keyboard malfunction, but I wanted to be 100% sure. I go to them, they figured it was the keyboard. Fine. Thank you for figuring it out for me. I paid 30 bucks for this service. I think that was fair too. However, when I said I will fix it on my own because I had already ordered a new keyboard, they flipped out because they would lose out on 100 bucks worth of service and SUPERGLUED my keyboard to my computer. I had to struggle very hard to get it off and also now have cosmetic damage because I had to pry the damn thing off. As a result I had no computer for 2 weeks and missed out on many assignments. WTF! I PAID for the service and still they damage my laptop. Who does things like this? This is extremely childish behavior. Who knows, they may have even put viruses or keyloggers on the machine. I guess I will find out if it goes bad or my email gets hacked. DO NOT GO HERE. They will do nasty things out of spite if you decide not to use their service. read more

I had previously gone here to get a cracked laptop screen. However the repair, which only lasted just over three months (another important fact-their warranty on their work is only 60 days as opposed to 90). So I got to come in and throw more money at the problem so they could resolder a cable (a problem that probably took them 10 minutes to diagnose and 3 minutes to fix. They then charged me the same amount of labor for them to fix the cable as they spent last time to replace the screen and soolder the cable in ohe first place. I was previously content with their work, but after my recent experience I am unsure if I will be coming back. read more

I've used this place several times over the past dozen years or so, and recommended them to a friend with a screaming fast temperamental gaming machine, all with outstanding results. A couple weeks ago I attempted to clean the fan and heatsink on my Dell laptop. I followed YouTube videos and did just fine -except than when I opened the case, a screw was missing. And Microcenter was out of stock of their "computer screw assortment package". But no problem -I just brought the laptop to CCLLC and they put a box of miscellaneous tiny screws on the counter. "take what you need". No charge. Great place Steve S read more

Aldi is the man! I got my laptop caught in the spokes of my bike and really tore it up. (Yes, for real!) I was expecting to pay a lot for the repair but Aldi did it for not a lot of money and very quickly! It actually looks better now than it did before the accident. Bonus! read more

I wouldn't suggest coming here to get your iPad screen replaced. I found them with a google search and they had a good price, too bad the worksmanship they do and the parts they use are bad. I got my iPad back, glass was not flush at the top of the iPad and was loose. 2 weeks later the screen cracked again. I took it back to the store to see what they could do, and they could not do any thing for me other than charge me again to replace the screen. The 30 day warranty they give you is obviously useless. The parts they use are crap and the workmanship they did was completely shoddy and crap. Both guys I dealt with there were rude and uncaring about the entire situation. I was not going to spend another dime in this place to have them fix the screen again, they already have $125.00 from me. If you want a much better place to get your iPad fixed, I recommend going to UBreakiFix on Clybourn in Lincoln Park. The guys there are friendly, willing to work with you, and provide great customer service. They replaced my iPad screen again, and already the worksmanship and job they did is a world of difference to what this place did. This is in response to the Owner's Review, ALDI: You must have me mistaken for some one else, because I got my iPad screen fixed back in September of 2012. Unfortunately, I did pay my credit card bill and you got all the money you took from me. I never filed a claim with my credit card company. If you had read the original review, I DID come into the store and asked what you could do about the screen, and one of your employees was unable to help me or were you when you called me back so I picked my iPad back and took it elsewhere. Why would I give you more money? You have this review mistaken for another customer, which is a tell-tale sign that your iPad replacement screens break a lot.. read more
