I had to get my car towed on December 4, 2025 (I have a receipt). The 2 stars is for promptness and service that day. They answered the phone right away and sent someone pretty quickly. I had a pleasant interaction with the tow truck driver. However, I was a bit alarmed when the next day my mechanic called and asked me where the car was. He said he had left the shop for the day and didn't see it there which made me panic a bit. I called the towing company and the person who answered said the driver would call me back. He never did. My sister, who lives closer to the shop, drove over that night and discovered the car way down at the other end of the lot. My mechanic had to push it down to where their shop is the next day. Fast forward to submitting the receipt for reimbursement. My insurance company said they don't often see prices this high. I am right around the corner from where the towing company is located (0.3 miles). I was parked right next to my house on a side street where there were no cars parked in front of me. It is not a dense area. It was not a difficult situation. The tow was 9.1 miles. It was $295. I did not realize at the time, but this is high. For reference, my sister is getting her car towed 30 miles today (similar area of the city, also 4wd similar type of car, but over 3 times as far) and the cost is $360. And this other company has to travel further to get to her. I would recommend calling around because you can certainly do better on pricing (I feel I was taken advantage of) and they failed to follow up on a panic-inducing issue. I was left to locate the car on my own. In the future, they should consider having the driver confirm with a photo (or two) where the car was left. read more

We got into and accident on LSD. No one hit or hurt. We got towed to lower Wacker. Called up this company randomly. They picked up and were so nice and asked us if we were ok. They said they would send Ray. They kept in contact with us while we waited. Ray called when he was close and he was nice as well. We are thankful for them. They really helped us out. Overall I was happy with the service I received. A little hard to find as they're in the Lake Shore Plumbing Building and there's no visible signage other than the tow trucks in the lot [assuming they're there]. Anyway, once I tracked them down, everything was arranged with the driver, Mariusz, and my car - which had a broken axle - arrived at the mechanic as scheduled. Was an incredible 14 hours spent with Oren! He towed my Volvo semi w/sleeper and myself from Shelby, Iowa to Merrionette Park, Illinois. Had Bluetooth headset charged and plenty of snacks to eat throughout morning as i planned on being bored. Needless to say the conversation was great; wished i wasn't nursing a migraine all morning then i could've done a better job at helping him to stay awake. Service with this company is undeniably efficient and amazing.... they are exactly what you're looking for in an emergency situation... I absolutely was impressed with the customer service and the follow through ... it's sucks to have an issue with your car but... it does ease and help the situation when you have someone that can fix the situation you're in .... I needed to tow my wife's car to the dealer as the transmission went out. I called and received a quote of a 1.5 hour pick up time...4 hours later they finally arrived. Chris D was the driver and when he called he sounded irritated over the phone. He tells me that he already had a car on the truck and had to go and drop that one off first. Another hour passes and he calls back to say that he is going to drop the car on the street near the dealership and not in the service lot. He drops it in a paid spot that starts charging at 8am. Not ideal, but luckily the dealership opened at 7am and I was able to contact them before the car got a ticket. They had to push the car across Western Ave to get it to the service bay. All in all, the price was fair (about $40 less than the other companies I called) and they ultimately got the job done. If you're in a pinch, this may not be the way to go, but if you have time to kill and patience for folks that may have had a bad day, you'll save a little bit of cash. read more

I didn't have quite a good experience utilizing this company to tow. There was alot of miscommunication with pricing and not alot of transparency. This was from the dispatcher with miscommunication and lack of transparency. I will say that Bobby the wrecker made situations positive in a variety of ways. At one point when a man and his son wanted to watch the tow process, he politely let them know about safety procedures in case objects and materials were to project into the air. As my short time in the towing process with Bobby, he was patient and understanding of what It is that was going on with my vehicle and I felt a sense of empathy. Bobby made an experience that seemed dark and brought light to it and am always grateful to meet genuine people that are there to help others in more ways than one. My brother's car is the automobile equivalent of a 90 year old man with polio so I wasn't surprised when he called me last night with 10% battery in his phone needing me to find him a tow truck. After about 5 strikeouts I finally got in touch with Chicago 24 and they got the job done. Only took them about 20 minutes to get there and the dispatcher was really helpful giving me a pretty accurate ETA. The guy who showed was friendly even though it was after midnight. My car overheated on 94w, I pulled over and called this company they were attentive and quick - especially since I was frantic! Some tow truck guy pulled up as I hung up and hounded me to take his service but he was so rude I waited. I'm glad I did! This company showed up pretty quick like 10 or 15 minutes! The guy was really nice, he confirmed I was waiting for him, helped me out of my car and into his truck- keeping himself between me and the highway traffic! Dropped me off at home in the west loop and took my car to the shop I wanted - even though it was in Skokie! I'm definitely using these guys again! My car was all the way in the south side (I live in Edgewater up north) and I had all types of concerns with transporting my car (expensive car). I called them, a VERY polite lady picked up the phone and 25 minutes later my car was being towed! The driver was very nice and it looked like he really cared about my car. He did everything in a very professional way, took his time and made sure nothing bad happens to my car. I called to have someone come out and change my flat tire. Was told it would take about 30 minutes and I should be expecting a call from the driver. An hour went by and no call. I called them back and was told it would be another 45 minutes...so I waited 45 minutes and still nothing. I called back again was told "he's on the way I'll have him call you." 10 minutes later someone calls me and says he'll be there in 30 minutes. That was 2 hours after my initial call when I was told 30 minutes. I ended up calling another company who showed up within 15 minutes as promised. Won't be calling this company ever again. read more

I've had the misfortune of having to have my truck towed several times over the last two years and actually have 24 Hour towing in my contacts. A towing company is not something you think about when you think about writing a review but I've had such a great experience with them that I had to write something. The dispatchers are always pleasant and the drivers very professional. I have to mention that on my last tow I had such a amazing experience, the dispatcher told me she'd get someone out quickly and within 5 minutes the driver Emil was on the phone getting my exact location and assuring me he was on his way. Emil arrived , hooked me up and off to the shop, I happened to have my dog with me when this happened. When we got to the shop Emil offered to watch my dog while I went in and sorted out the details with the dealer. My dog had been held up in the car during this whole episode, when I came out Emil was busy walking her, wow, I can't say enough how appreciative and thankful I am for his service and glad I could tell others about my experience. Rolando came to my rescue 20 min after I made the call to dispatch. I accidentally left my lights on, using up my battery, and making my key remote useless for entry. My car was broken into over the summer by random jerks and the thieves popped my door handle, so I couldn't use the key hole to unlock the car door the old fashion way. I paid $65 to unlock the car and $75 for a jump. I guess I could've called family or friends to help, but we would've been out there all night, in Chicago winter, with a coat hanger. I need a jump start this past Tuesday at 7am in Old Town and Oren C. arrived within 10 minutes of my call. The speed of arrival is a huge factor in my review, given that other places I had called quoted an hour or more. Temperature was around 20 degrees, so waiting in my double parked cold car (with an open window that wouldn't shut) was miserable! Oren was polite and efficient. I'll definitely use these guys again. I needed my truck towed to the dealer and I gave Chicago 24 Towing a call and it went well. I heard a lot of horror stories on the news when dealing with tow companies but thank goodness this went extremely well. I called to get my truck towed and they arrived when they said they would. And the price was what they quoted me on the phone and it did not change which is a plus. Once they towed my truck to the dealer and the dealer told them to take it down a few blocks this towing company gave me a call and updated me on what the dealer said. Waited 2 hours for a tow on the side of I-90 after being told it would be 30 minutes. Towed three miles for $300. They then decided to drop my motorcycle on its side damaging it in the process of excess at least $500. After this they refused to acknowledge my existence or concerns regarding damages. All I asked for was a refund. Stay away from this business. I would push my vehicle home rather than go through dealing with their crappy service and prices again. read more

Used them for a jump start, they came out quick cause the guy was supposedly already in the area picking up a car however asking $95 for a jump start (using a portable machine) is outrageous and definitely not affordable. While waiting to have my battery replaced I called around a couple other towing companies and they charged $60 and $75. read more

The battery in my car died in an illegal spot outside of NW Hospital in Chicago (my bad as I was just waiting for someone with my flashers on). I called AAA since I pay a small fortune to have them rescue my car for just this reason. They told me they couldn't come for another few hours- what?!? Neither me nor my car could remain in that spot for that long. Desperate, I made some cold calls and ultimately landed on Chicago 24 hour Towing.
