He repeated my order back to me and said one apple turnover and two Boston creams, I replied back, no one apple turnover and two plain French crullers. He put everything in a box and taped it up. I drove home, opened the box. there was one apple turnover, two Boston cream, and two crullers NOT French crullers! I now understood why the bill was so high. So now I drove back in the car to the bakery to return the wrong order. Once I got back to the bakery, I spoke to the gentleman who filled my order and he proceeded to argue with me that in his defense, he gave me two plain crullers and that they did not have plain French crullers only vanilla or chocolate topped ones. Obviously, since they were both technically Crullers, I was at fault. He had no explanation for the Boston creams. I never ordered. After a brief argument, he gave me my correct order and a refund for the excessive amount of pastries he charged me for. I have ordered French Cruellers for years at this bakery I usually bought chocolate or vanilla coated, but today my wife's asked me to see if they had plain ones, this is the first time I ever received pastries I never asked for. My advice to this bakery is to only put people dealing with the public who can understand English as their second language.

The "mother to be" chose this small black owned bakery, in an effort to patronize and support small…read morebusinesses within our community. I met with owner 2 months prior to the event, and provided the attached photo. The owner quoted me a price, and stated she could accomplish this cake, using air brush paint, and stated that she could put a special message, on edible paper inside of the cake, for the reveal. All of this sounded amazing, so with no hesitation, I left a deposit, and started planning. The cake was paid in full, 3 weeks before the event, which I regret, because she failed to produce, and she's now refusing to reimburse me. The cake was picked up on the day the of the event, and looked nothing like the photo. The cake was supposed to be airbrushed, with mint green, lavender, and gold, yet this was not accomplished. Plus the special message was plastered on top of the cake, and the "father to be" saw this, when he picked up the cake. When I called her, she apologized for placing the message on the cake, despite the 3 meetings we had. She also informed me that she didn't own an airbrush machine and had no plans on renting one. However, 6-8 weeks is enough time to rent an airbrush machine, if it's what you promised your customers. After 3 private discussions, and stating that she understood the vision, the owner put no effort into making our cake, despite being paid in full. In addition, she failed us, by placing the special message on top of the cake, for all of the attendees at the party to see, although it was intended to be an intimate message inside of the cake to the parents. The owner was well aware, that this was a rainbow baby, and plastered it, on top of the couple's cake. She ruined the gender reveal, and has apologized, but refused to reimburse us. When I asked for a full reimbursement, due to her failure to produce, she blamed it on my expectations, rather than taking responsibility for her inability to produce. Apparently my expectations were too high. This cake costed me hundreds. I will never buy from this bakery/owner again. We had intentions on using her for the shower, however, it's obvious that she is incapable of producing, so we can't take any chances. This couple deserved better, and she showed no humility for ruining their cake, and almost ruining their day. Never Again!
