Let me start off by saying that their smoothies are really good. However, the service is not good at all. I have gone in there several times and every time I try and place an order, they direct me over to a kiosk. If I wanted to do a kiosk, I would have ordered online. The only reason that I came here is because it is Desi owned and I'd like to support our smaller family owned establishments over big box stores. The heavyset Desi guy behind the counter, directed me over to the kiosk even though there was no one else in line and I complied only for the kiosk to not be working. I told him the kiosk was not working, and he said it would be about 5 to 10 minutes before he could take my order. Did I mention already that there was no one else in line?! Every time I come here I get frustrated because it seems that I care more about their business then they do. All he had to do was stop playing on his phone and take my order. I go out of my way to find small businesses to support but I guess I'll just walk over next-door to tropical smoothie where at least the customer service was great and I had my smoothie within two minutes. Disappointed that they don't care about their business as much as they should. My sunrise smoothie was about the same price, a lot bigger, and the service was much better. Came here with a friend after dinner and it was an okay spot for boba. I do want to try their chicken sandwich so I think that's the only reason why I'll give this place another try for their boba. One lazy night we ordered this place through Uber Eats and it got here very quickly and was still hot. We got the big bird Slider, the angry birds, and regular chicken sandwich (the big bird). It was a bit on the expensive side for chicken sandwiches and the sliders are only one slider, but they picture two of them so that was my bad for assuming that there were two sliders. This is difficult for me to rate a 3 star because the food is undoubtedly 5 stars! The issue is they don't have enough seating and it gets crowded. It would be nice to have fountain drinks but they do have plenty of other drink options for shakes/teas. It's very much a self serve fast food environment. Review during Covid times: They are allowing one customer at a time while everyone waits in line outside. The line used to wrap around the building when it was warm, but lately with it being cold, the line hasn't been bad and I've seen customers waiting inside, not really following social distancing rules. I'm back! Round 2! (Ok more like 3..or 4...) This time, I was even more impressed. This place is becoming more popular and I'm not surprised because the boba tea quality is awesome. I had to make a line outside for about 45min when I visited because there were multiple people in front of me at 6:30pm (they close at 8). It was so worth it. They must have hired more people to meet demand because I noticed more people working answering people's questions, coming outside to say hi to people in the line, etc. Honesty, I have to take back what I said in my last review. I must have caught the cashier on a tough day because she was so nice this time and the rest of the workers are so friendly. I am a teacher at a nearby high school and one of my classes has only 14 students. We are in person. We realized a couple of weeks ago that most of us in class had never had boba... and I had the idea to pick us up boba one day for a Friday class. I went to Chi Tea and ordered 15 drinks total and they were SO friendly and helpful! They even helped me bring all the drinks to my car. 10/10. Bundle up, the line is 100% worth it! Born and raised in the Chicago land area, I had heard of this new spot that just opened up so I had to give it a try when I came back home to visit. Yes, it's true, there usually is a long line that wraps around Panda Express. But it's a pandemic and I'm proud to say that this establishment is taking proper health precautions for its patrons. The boba tea was absolutely amazing (this is coming from someone who doesn't drink boba tea regularly but I recommend the Taru & Coconut combo). And the big bird chicken sandwich is just perfect. Usually fried chicken sandwiches are too heavily fried and greasy but this one couldn't be any further from that. It's a HUGE whopping piece of a chicken and the batter is just right. It was so good that I started eating it before I was able to take a picture. It's quite a remarkable endeavor to open a new restaurant in the middle of a pandemic. It's even more remarkable to have a line out the door every weekend and even after 3 weeks of being open. After caving into all the hype, we decided to try this place. It was a long wait! It wasn't until after I ordered that I realized I was in line for about an hour and 15 minutes. I never imagined I would stand in line that long to get a chicken sandwich and bubble tea. Due to social distancing, no dine in are allowed and they only let in one customer at a time to place their order. The ordering process is fairly straight forward, since the menu is small. We still had a few questions and the guys at the counter were very helpful and willing to answer. Unfortunately, they ran out of fries so we just ordered the sandwiches and bubble tea. Once we ordered, our food was ready in less than 12 minutes. Since everything is made fresh to order, 10-15 minutes is a reasonable wait time. We ordered 7 Spicy big bird sandwiches and every single person loved it. Chicken was perfectly seasoned and well cooked. The coleslaw, pickles and Chi sauce were not over powering with just the right amount of spices and flavor. As you can see in the picture, I had a massive piece, which easily made up for the lack of fries. Everyone loved their bubble teas as well-one smal critique, the tapioca balls were too mushy. All in all, this place deserves a 5 star, with improvements sure to come. I had a quick chat with one of the employees, who happens to be the younger brother of the owner. This is a family owned business and a dream turned into a reality. It goes without saying that they will need more logistical management to handle the massive influx of people coming in everyday. We will certainly be back to support them and recognize it will take them some time to get organized and get better with handling large crowds. We look forward to their growth. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Big Bird ($8.69) and the Chi Tea Classic ($6.69). Honestly, the Big Bird was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. First of all, the crust on that chicken was spot on! They also give you a really good sized portion of the chicken. And the flavor is so tasty! The only thing I was a little bummed about was how out of this world spicy it was- and I like my spice. I was panting and sweating and an overall hot mess maybe about four bites in. Yes, I know, the menu tells you it's spicy- I just didn't expect it to be that spicy! I'm normally pretty good with spice. Even my dad who loves spicy food said it was pretty strong. You've been warned. Unfortunately, the Chi Tea Classic was also super spicy even though the menu did not claim it to be. I think maybe they used the wrong sauce? It was still so delicious, everything really was, we just had to take breaks and jug water throughout the meal. It was worth it though but I do hope that they consider a milder sauce in the future as an option. I would also like to see more food items on the menu too in the future and I look forward to trying more. Of course, we also ordered boba. How could you not?! We ordered the Cool Blue ($5.75) and Taro ($5.75) both with tapioca. My sister claimed it was the best Taro she'd ever had and it beats having to go all the way to Chinatown for her craving!! Mine was good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I didn't realize it was a blue raspberry flavor when ordering it! If blue raspberry is your thing- go for it. I applaud that they even had the flavor as an option, I haven't seen it elsewhere. Personally, it wasn't my thing, it tasted a bit like a blue Airhead. Next time I'll try their mango! My sister waited over an hour to order and stood in line for it. Everything was really delicious but since the food was really spicy, I think we both agreed that the trip was worth it but the hour long wait was not. So we'll definitely be back, most likely when the line dies down! Please come and support this local business. The food is great and the aesthetic is gorgeous. I also LOVE their logo. Came here with my sisters to try the milk tea. When we arrived it was 7 pm and they were closing at 8. Shortly after we got in line an employee came out and told us that no more people could get in line. I understand that the line was long (about 30 people) but I really did not like that they stop taking customers an hour before close. From when we stepped in line to when we had drinks in our hands it was 1 hour and 26 minutes. Obviously they recently opened and are trying their best to keep up but they really need a better system. After all that wait the drinks were good but we were just exhausted and over it after waiting that long. I do think that the milk tea was pretty good compared to other places. The boba was cooked well and the tea was flavorful. At first I was sad that they didn't have an option to adjust the sweetness but all the drinks were just right and not too sweet. The price was also comparable based on the size. I am definitely curious to come back to try their chicken sandwich and to see how they improve the wait time.
