The evening had a chill and this seemed like a great place to get something to warm up. Chi Lin is located inside the Stanley Marketplace. It can be a challenge to find a parking spot due to the popularity of this area. It is worth it though. My husband brought me and our daughter here for dinner. She ordered their Original Tonkotsu Ramen which had sliced chashu pork belly, bok choy, bamboo, bean sprouts, green onions, fishcake, red ginger and a marinated egg in pork bone broth. She was very happy with her selection. She had enough left over to have it for lunch the next day. My husband chose the Spicy Tantanmen Ramen, a combination of spicy garlic ground pork, bok choy, bamboo, bean sprouts, green onions, fishcake, fried onions, shredded Japanese red chili pepper, and marinated egg in pork bone broth. He did not have any left to take home. I was feeling like noodles, so I chose the Yaki Udon and I added chicken. The Udon was stir fried with cabbage, carrots, scallions and onions. Delicious. I too, did not have anything to bring home as I ate every bite. A fun aspect is the food is delivered to the table by a cute robot with a kitty face. It plays a tune as it moves about the room. The decor is cute and our kids love the robot bringing the food. The food is also quite bland so our kids like it. However, that also means the food isn't very flavorful. I had the takoyaki, which were cold and mostly breading, and the soup dumpling which were pretty boring. Both seemed premade and just heated. Costco soup dumplings are better. It was quite hard to get the attention of servers today to get water or an extra bowl for our kid. We ordered gyoza, cold tofu, spicy tantanmen ramen, tonkotsu ramen, and braised pork belly rice bowl. The gyoza was decent. The cold tofu was pretty good and I liked that it was pre sliced. This place has gone downhill. Our server took our order and then never came back to the table. There was one girl running food wile the server wanched her run back and forth from our table. The takoyaki was cold 3 times in a row, freezing cold octopus every single time. We also didn't get one of the drinks we ordered. The best thing we ate was the tofu, and that's saying something. It was a little confusing figuring out who was helping who since there was a line but eventually we got seated. It was stuffy but service was quick, unfortunately couldn't understand our server too well since he was speaking really low. When we got there last night we had a wait about 10 minutes for a party of 2 , but was longer for party of 3 or more. Service: the employees there are on top of their game and make sure once seated you're greeted within a minute or two of sitting down. We placed our order right away. I got the French fries and the Tan Tan Rice bowl. Both of them had some heat to them, so if you lie a little spice these dishes are for you. The pork in my dish packed a nice pow. Would definitely order again next time. The French fries were good, but possibly a little over fried, but still very good. Definitely recommend to go early. We ordered a variety of dishes to try a little bit of everything--sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, spicy ramen, pork belly rice bowl, and pad Thai. We also shared appetizers including spinach cheese wontons and fries. The robot that brought our food to the table was a fun and unique touch--definitely something different that added a cool factor to the meal. Service from the human staff was great--friendly and very efficient. The appetizers came out super fast, which we appreciated, but the rest of the entrees trickled out around 10 minutes later. That timing made things a bit awkward since half the table was eating while the other half waited. As for the food, everyone agreed it was just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really wowed us either. Everything was decent, but lacking that standout flavor you hope for when going out for Asian cuisine. The gimmicks like the robots and the decor displays are definitely attractive, but other than that, the food is just ok. I'll stick with dim sum at places like Super Star as I know they're made by dim sum chef on site. At Chi Lin, the dim sum tasted frozen and just re-steamed before serving. Trust me, I'm Cantonese, dim sum is in my blood. That said, the two dishes I enjoyed were the ramen and (Tongkatsu) and the Taiwanese pork rice bowl (Lu Rou Fan) There are so many food options at Stanley, having tried Chi Lin is great, and I'll leave it at that. read more

The food was good, wasn't mind blowing, but we'll go try most places that serve dim sum, since you don't see it available too often. The rice dishes were pretty good. We ordered loaded fries, I forgot what they are called on the menu, but we really liked it. They have a spicy sauce that gives it a little kick and it's full of flavor on top of crispy fries. The soup dumplings were good, I'd say they were adequate. Served at the proper temperature and flavorful. We also ordered pan fried dumplings which were average, nothing special, but they were good. I don't personally know the Chinese food scene in the Denver area. I'd say Chi Lin is about average for the food, I love that they have dim sum options on the menu daily, which is great, but the food is about average. It's not bad, but it's not special in any way. Chi lin tries a little too hard to offer "pan-Asian" food, from Japanese, mainlaind Chinese, Taiwanese to Thai. As a result, no particular dish is outstanding. I tried the braised pork belly bowl-- the rice was not high or even medium quality. Rather than the usual medium grain rice, it was an overcooked long-grain that didn't have the slight chew you'd expect. The grains were soft and stuck together. The pork belly didn't have the texture of pork belly-- it tasted more like odds and ends of pork instead. Their soup dumplings are served in little tins, which isn't typical. The dumpling skins were really thick. I tried someone's tonkatsu ramen, and there wasn't much depth of flavor to the broth. Overall, this place might satisfy a craving if you're at stanley, but there are much better options in Denver read more

Clean and well decorated. I love the feel of Stanley Marketplace, too. FOOD: We ordered a lichee sangria, lo mein chicken, and original tonkotsu ramen. The sangria was great. Subtle lychee flavor and pretty strong. The Lo Mein chicken was also really good. The texture of the noodles was perfect, and flavor was tangy and full. The ramen really fell short. There was a strong pork smell, and the broth didn't have a lot of flavor (rather was just salty). The egg was overcooked. The ramen does come with a side of chili oil that made the broth a bit better. SERVICE: Good service, there were plenty of servers around to help with things that came up. PRICE/VALUE: The entrees were a good size for the price (roughly $16 for each entree). The drink was a good size too. Overall, it's hard to find a good ramen place in CO. The spicy tantanmen ramen was delicious! Plenty of soup so that there will be leftovers. I love the flavor of the egg, minced pork, and spicy broth. I'd say it was a 6 out of 10 on the spice level for me personally which was perfect! The staff is always attentive, refilling our water whenever it ran low and clearing our table of trash as needed. We were at Stanley Marketplace this passed weekend for an event, and having eaten our way through many of the restaurants here, we decided to go for Chi Lin Asian Eatery. Servers will take your orders and those cool robots will deliver your food. The future is trippy, right? Well here it works. Normally I would go for a full ramen bowl or main entrée, but I was in a grazing kind of mood. Wife and I didn't want to split anything, so I ordered a few things to satisfy my fix. Hot & Sour Soup // A classic that hit the spot ($4.50). Vegetable Egg Rolls // 2 pieces that had a crunchalicious crunch ($4.75). Grant's Steamed Pork Dumplings // Their signature pork dumplings w/ napa, green onions & ginger. These 6 dumplings were devoured in minutes. We had the sesame chicken, generals chicken and the fried won't toms with cheese. Sesame chicken was good but a little sweet for me. Generals chicken was preferred spicy but was not spicy at all so you will need to order extra spicy if you want it hot. Won tons were good but really rich, and comes on a plate with 6 of them.
