Our server was great and very knowledgeable on the menu and had great wine recommendations. The Soupe aux Haricots Cannellini was creamy and delicious. The big chunks of bacon were pleasant and tasty finds within the soup as well. The beef tartare was perfectly prepared and paired well with the small pieces of toast that came with it. Every bite of the poulet toulousaine (sausage-stuffed chicken) was delicious. Each bite was juicy and very well-seasoned. The fondant potatoes were so soft and good. The knife sliced through them like butter. It was amazing and the Brussel sprouts were divine. I loved it.

The service was very "Parisian"--they left you alone but were there when you needed a server. The omelettes were divine. We had the "supreme" which is off the menu but is a combo of ham and mushrooms. The eggs were silky and the potatoes on the side err smashed fried potatoes with caramelized onions. My son had the gnocchi which was quite good. The morning bun was the hit, though, and a must-get when you go. The have a pretty impressive bar program, too. I had a French 75 (since it's a French restaurant, seemed like the call) which had Theo house made pea-lavender syrup. It was excellent! Delicious, strong coffee too.

The interior decorator(s) clearly had taste. The artwork is pretty and the windows add to the light and airy feeling. Now let's talk food! The food is bespoke. I had to google a few words (which I loved) to make sure I knew what I was getting. The Fried Cauliflower had a touch of spice, and frankly you would have no idea you were eating cauliflower if it wasn't in the name. Pimento Cheese Galette...what's the word...hmmm....divine! Spinach Salad felt like a summer evening on the patio - strawberries, feta, sunflower seed - wonderful! Artisan cheese Selection - it's cheese, what's not to love!?! The flatbread is 'hand-rolled' in house - babeeee! Seared Sea Scallops for the sea lovers. The real blessing was Savannah and Courtney. They took care of us and were a pure delight as well as helpful.

The food is always good and they vary the menu regularly...they seem to keep most of the same proteins and come up with new techniques for the preparation. Some go to items that are always on the menu include the lobster and shrimp spring rolls, fried oysters, and an excellent spinach salad. Additionally, I find their bar service consistently one of the best in the city. My go to is a Manhattan and they do an excellent job with it! Lastly, if you are there for lunch, give the chicken salad a try.

Parking worked out for us, but I'd recommend arriving early unless you plan to use valet. Street parking nearby can be tight. The interior is charming and relaxed--exactly what you hope for in a French bistro. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the service throughout the meal was excellent. They also had a nice range of gluten-free options, which we appreciated. I had the Croque Madame and it was delicious. The mornay sauce was the standout--perfectly creamy with a smooth texture that didn't feel heavy. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Overall, a really enjoyable brunch and, so far, our favorite French restaurant in the Triangle.

We ordered the lobster bisque special and shrimp to start and placed our order for dinner fairly quickly after sitting down. The two appetizers came out right away and were very unique. We then waited an hour and a half for our entrees. Our server checked in multiple times saying they were on their way/ coming soon. We were just two people and ordered steak frites and mussels. No special order or anything complex. These are two of the most popular items. We watched tables get served and flip to new people in the time it took to get our entrees. When the food did come out, we really enjoyed it. It was well made but this was a disappointing experience overall.

Starters (lettuces, asparagus) and firsts (risotto to lamb) and mains (from chicken to beef to duck), Cab-Franc wine special. The best classic Negroni w/o Campari (which I don't love), was amazing. Dessert was also a topper (Hazel Nut pastry). Bennett was a pro. Give him a raise. He earned every penny, knowledgeable beyond expectations. The ding: the foyer room on the high-top where we were seated. I get it, you're trying to squeeze folks in...but that room, which is a combo lounge, view into the storage closet, right next to the exit door, looking into the parking garage needs some help. (hire my wife, she's an interiors expert...or hire someone.). So, with apologies to the chef, here's my classic score: food: 28 service: 27 ambiance: 16 Fix that room (which has so much potential!), and you could have a private dining experience, or something else. We don't believe it was worth that cost. You would have thought that kind of bill would have included a bunch of drinks, but it didn't. I was very disappointed that my check arrived with a mandatory 18% tip on it. It was good service, but was bothered that I had no choice. Plus the restaurant was ridiculously hot! I sweated through dinner. That really killed any sort of vibe. I don't see my wife and I ever going back.

Let's get to the food - For starters, we had the bread & butter, steak tartare, and gnocchi. I absolutely loved the bread & butter (duh) and the tartare, but the gnocchi wasn't for me. Everyone else at the table loved it! For my main I got the hanger steak. Instead of tender and flavorful, it lacked any taste and was incredibly chewy, it was incredibly disappointing. The fries were okay - pretty crispy. I had a bite of the duck and it wasn't for me - the only source of flavor was the sauce and it wasn't a hit with anyone at the table. For dessert, we got the mousse and crème brûlée. The mousse was incredibly dense and rich. If that's your jam, it's for you but I was expecting something much lighter. The crème brûlée was fantastic! Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back. For the price, there are much better restaurants.

From the moment we walked in the decor and overall vibe felt like stepping back in time in a good way. You can tell a lot of thought went into the place without it feeling overdone. Service was top tier. Alejandra took care of us and knew the menu inside and out without sounding scripted or fake attentive like some places do. I got the salmon and yeah... ridiculous. The interior and overall vibe are really nice, and the food was good -- but nothing especially memorable. What completely ruined the evening, though, was the service and how an accident was handled. A server from another table accidentally dropped an entire chocolate dessert shot glass behind me, and I got covered in chocolate -- my neck, hair, sweater, jeans, and even half of our table. Accidents happen, and I totally understand that. What shocked me was that neither the server who dropped it nor my own server reacted or even apologized. My server saw everything happen but didn't hurry to help or check on me. I sat there for more than 15 minutes with chocolate in my hair and all over my clothes. Eventually, I had to call the manager myself and ask for napkins or something to clean up. To the manager's credit, she responded quickly and was helpful. Ironically, my server only came over after the manager had already handled everything. In the end, I left the restaurant with a dirty sweater, stained jeans, and chocolate still in my hair. Instead of properly following up, they simply handed me a business card and told me to email or call about the incident. Honestly, after what happened, why should I have to chase the restaurant for a resolution? A much better approach would have been for someone to ask for my contact information and proactively reach out. Overall, it was a very strange and disappointing experience, especially for a place that presents itself as upscale. Sadly, I wouldn't come back again.
