May 2025 - We went here for a wedding reception and were very impressed with the beautiful ambiance, delicious food & drinks, and professional service. It was the first time I had sushi at a wedding reception. The tables were beautifully set for the occasion. Non alcoholic and alcoholic punch bowls were provided for the guests. We spent a lot of time photographing the reception yet we managed to eat some of the food there. Not too many photos of the food & drinks yet we captured & felt the good vibes throughout the restaurant. I liked the outdoor area where guests could sit and drink to get some fresh air. Everyone seemed happy and very satisfied with the food, drinks, and venue. The music entertainment there was very pleasant as well. This was my first time here since Chez L'mour's media night mid/end of summer. I specifically drove from Jacksonville on this particular night for a reservation with a friend to see Rachael Warfield play from 6-9pm. The ambiance is just how I remembered. It's beautiful inside chez l'amour. There are a couple dining rooms, a few bars, extra bathrooms upstairs, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the live music while also carrying on a conversation with your table. We started with the bread service, had an espresso martini each which was very smooth and really hit the spot! We then ordered some caviar, one more cocktail, & beignets with prosciutto. I meant to order the delicious ube dessert along with their sorbet featured but we ran out of room. We thought we might come back later to enjoy but we didn't make it back in. Christmas Eve prix fixe prepaid menu. It was creative and unique and Chef Ellie Rose pulled out all flavors in her creative selections. Service was good considering how busy the restaurant was - fortunately it was a bit "all hands on deck" and that helped. We were seated in a far back room near a portable stereo. During the busy Nights of Lights in Saint Augustine, I parked nearby and started walking toward the Christmas lights when I came across Chez L'Amour. The gorgeous atmosphere, live jazz music, and supper club vibe immediately drew me in--I just had to go inside. Even on such a busy night, there was no wait, and we sat at the bar. The espresso martinis were made to perfection, the tostada was a 10/10, and the Wagyu beef slider was amazing (I'm a beef lover, so it was an obvious choice for me!). My husband and I went for the first time before I gave birth to my last baby. The food is absolutely delicious, my husband enjoyed his drinks and I enjoyed that they were able to recommend some fun non alcoholic drinks for myself. We were excited as it is advertised as more of a Jazz Bar, but the music was pretty loud, and it was a random mix of music. The service was wonderful. We were passing through St Augustine after a day on the waters, decided to eat here since it was one of the only Restaurants in that Downtown area that had parking spaces available. We walked in and were promptly greeted by a Gentleman that asked if we had reservations? We replied "no" and he seated us. The decor is a little odd, there doesn't seem to be a theme, it's a mix of contemporary and not even sure how to describe it, there's a lot going on. They had a set up for photos, and Luxury handbags set up on a back Bar area, the employee said it was a Pop up Shop. We ordered: SAN MARCO SCALLOPS scared, beurre blanc, basil oil, charred This was delicious, but only had 3 Scallops, perfectly cooked and great flavor. COCONUT CURRY POPCORN passion fruit, raw honey, whipped garlic This chicken was so salty i had to eat some of the bread they served to try and help with the saltiness. Some fam booked Chez for a birthday celebration and it was an incredible time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the bar was a whole vibe, and there was room for a band and dance floor. The service was fantastic. The staff poured drinks, refilled buffet items, and cleared plates like ninjas -- smiling ninjas, of course. The food was yummmm--we had the Fritto Broccoli, fries, steak sliders and datil pork belly--and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it. And guess what---they have their own parking lot. It's not huge, so if your invite list is long there is street parking along the road, too. Will definitely return for a normal night of service when they have live jazz. read more

We have dined in many establishments in and around St Augustine and we've had trouble finding any with ambience. Chez L'Amour has the ambience we have been looking for. There are low lights and candles and a more "romantic" vibe. The food is more small plates and perfect for sharing. The live music is a really nice touch. And, they have a parking lot! Great place for unique appetizers and entrees. We came for an early dinner and we were one of the very few customers that was seated. Little by little the place started getting crowded. We also witnessed a live band prepping and getting ready for tonight's gig. The food we ordered are meant for sharing and that means we get to taste all of what we order. All the food we ordered was exceptional but I thought the popcorn chicken was uniquely presented and the chicken was nicely battered and fried. Desserts and as well as the live band ends our dining experience memorable. There were still so many entrees we weren't able to taste and order because we have no more room to eat. We went early and were seated in the Violet Room in the back. It was quiet and good for conversation. The front room is much more lively with the bar and the musicians. Music starts at 7 PM. We were greeted promptly and the service was consistently good throughout the meal. The star of the show is the food. Most things are small plates so it is easy to try several things and share. There were four of us and we loved everything we ordered. But my favorites were the Thai mussels and the mushroom plate. Where to begin??? Live Jazz over dinner is stellar, romantic, and so relaxing. Inside was cozy, and dim. Tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant as well on the sides. There were a few high top tables with two chairs aligned on the side of the walls. We sat in one; table was very small made it a little difficult to order many small plates and have them placed there along with your drinks. There was also a bar with many seats aligned, next time I may op for sitting there only because of the table space. Reservations recommended it was packed house, and I don't think a walk-in would have been accommodated. Food menu was small plates, prices were fair $13-$16 range; but keep in mind these are fine dining size plates. If you are used to heavy large meals these plates are more like a sample of goodness. Wine selection was delicious, and the music was just amazing. I really enjoyed every single moment of this dining experience. Waiters and waitresses alike were all AWESOME! A fantastic new restaurant on San Marco, it has been open only 1 week and appears to have the WOW factor. Beautiful decor, it appeared that we all photographed the ceiling. The staff were friendly and attentive except that I did not know there were wine & dessert menus until I was leaving & saw them at the hostess stand. The cocktail and small plate menus were very nice. I sampled the Crispy Maitake Mushrooms with a delicious passionfruit, honey & garlic confit; and Pumpkin Beignets with creme fraiche which were both exceptionally prepared, seasoned and creatively presented. (See photos). It was Happy Hour which included 4 of the cocktails, 1 red & 1 white wine which was Chardonnay. There are no small plate pricess for Happy Hour. The chardonnay was very good, but now that I see the wine menu I notice it is their only white choice and that may be limiting for those who don't like a strong oaky chard. There was an excellent jazz pianist adding to the intended jazz bar atmosphere. I look forward to returning and trying the Signature Dessert chocolate ganache or the Passion at the Alcazar cardamom mousse cake that I did not know about. read more

We held a dinner party at Chez L'Amour in their private upstairs room and the entire evening was the perfect experience. The food was exceptional, the service top notch, the drinks outstanding, and the evening was so seamless and easy. Chef Ellie and the team at Chez knock it out of the park every time we come, but I definitely recommend for large groups as the tapas style plates make it easy to share and spread around the table. a relaxed atmosphere with cool vibe, great staff, plenty of parking, excellent music. HOWEVER, the food is grossly overpriced, and doesn't match menu description. Lobster cakes ($42) contained no discernible lobster, and in fact, not the slightest seafood flavor. Two patties were flavorless fried cracker rounds, that were overcooked and burnt on the bottom. The tablespoon of mango chutney was diced so small the heat neutralized any flavor. There was some type of kale greens that provided the bulk of the dish over thin sweet potatoe? puree. Tuna steak ($36) was very thinly sliced tuna, maybe 3 oz.?, that was also rendered flavorless by the black, pudding-like goop underneath. There were no roasted vegetables. There were about 7 slices of a quarter picked red onion. Dots of micro cucumber completed the dish. Both dishes appear to rely on the stacking of elements to conceal the hodgepodge. We left hungry. Food was good. I appreciate the vegan options. The delicata squash special was delicious, as are the mushrooms. However, the noise was unbearable. It was the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. Not enjoyable at all. You couldn't talk to anyone at the table. And then when the live music started, it was atrocious. The piano player was very good, but this made people talk even louder. OBSESSED!!!!! Hands down best environment and decor for a restaurant in st Augustine. There was a live piano player and it really added to the experience. The service/staff was super friendly, attentive and helpful. We ate brunch and had the complimentary mimosa rolls which were great, the eggs Benedict which was FANTASTIC and also the stuffed French toast that was super good and interesting. We were celebrating an anniversary and they served us a desert on them and that was seriously the best part! It was their signature chocolate mouse cake and they personalized it with stamped chocolate. We tried the chefs table experience and we were disappointed. The chef was wonderful and the bartender was very friendly. The band could have made an evening amazing yet in a closed space it was unbearable to communicate with the people we were with. Everything separately was excellent yet not well coordinated. I would say that you should skip the chefs table until they mature their process. Try a dinner and see. The cost of a chefs table did not match any chefs table I've ever seen in any regard. There is such potential to do well yet don't try this as a first time introduction to Chez L'Amour or you will leave incredibly disappointed and frustrated. The restaurant's name sounds French but the menu is tapas style with an abundance of choices. Our server was very friendly and said that their menu changes each season. They currently have their spring menu. Everything we ordered was delicious! The bread basket had sweet rolls and chili honey butter. The popcorn chicken was tender and paired well with the coconut curry sauce. The mussels with tomato and pepper broth were so flavorful. The lamb boullettes were like meatballs on top of creamed peas and feta cheese. We enjoyed each bite. The place has a cool vibe with live music. I had the best experience at this restaurant for my birthday. My husband worked with Jeanetta to reserve the venue for my private event party. There was a live band that played 90s pop and r&b covers. They had a photo booth and custom made my birthday cake. I felt so special and my guests all felt like VIP. Complete and utter disappointment with the most unprofessional, rude and simply unpleasant 'host'. My senior parents and I came to St Augustine from Miami, and made a reservation well in advance - knowing that it is a busy weekend and knowing that we have to have early dinner before the drive back. We came at 4:30, dressed business casual. I am a 38 year old corporate lawyer and I was dressed the way I go to the office. Shorts and a long over-coat, my elderly father was wearing knee long shorts as well. I mean we are in Florida and the place is not black-tie by the looks of the food. We were turned away at the door and in the most unacceptable manner. The 'host' smirked, and huffed and puffed that he called to confirm (5 mins earlier) and rolled his eyes with 'this is why I was calling'. Super rude! And we totally understand that beachwear is against dress code, but dress shorts - ridiculous. Anyway, seemed like this person got off exercising his ever so small authority to say no. Chez L'Armour is a new restaurant in St. Augustine that you should experience. We loved the tapas style menu, and the deserts were superior. The Tuna Nachos should not be missed.
