Amazing! This place has been on my list of places to try and a bday lunch was the perfect occasion to try it. The mushroom flatbread was so good. Loaded with mushrooms and topped with arugula and truffle oil You hardly see escargot on the menu so I was thrilled. I even got my friend to try it for the first time. The crepe was delicious and the Frenchie burger was perfect. Not pictured is the cold brew and iced caramel macchiato, both of which were good. Our server was perfectly attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a really rustic French vibe to it. It was perfect for our little lunchtime celebration. read more

Chez Fabien is a fantastic addition to the downtown Grapevine scene! The bar is always packed with regulars but they are super friendly and accommodating to newcomers - everyone I talked to at the bar had nothing but complimentary things to say about the staff and the food! We had no problem finding something we like on the menu and it was fantastic! I would recommend a reservation, but hanging around the bar while you're waiting for a table is such a good experience that I would almost suggest going without a reservation just so you can experience the great atmosphere! Cheers! read more

The food portions are very very generous, certainly shareable too. Our server was very helpful with recommendations and checking on is constantly. We sat outside and it was amazing. read more

The food is always good and the ambience is nice. The service is also good. Have been here several times and it's been consistent.

I love this place, genuinely. I've left a review before but for some reason it's not showing up, but I've been here many times over the years. I love this place. Is it crowded from Friday breakfast to Sunday dinner? Yes. Is it worth it? Really depends what you're looking for. I enjoy the ambience, the decor, being in a place where people are thoroughly enjoying their food and their conversations. So today we came for breakfast, we started with an almond croissant and Strawberries Romanoff (sans crepe), two caramel macchiatos, one iced. We moved to Migas and Carnitas Huevos Rancheros and split them with each other. Everything was excellent, the carnitas ended up being my favorite. Looking forward to next time! read more

Delightful spot for brunch/lunch and to visit with "out of towners!" Outdoor Paris cafe vibe that somehow provides intimacy despite being very busy. The service was exceptional. The menu had great variety. We opted for pineapple mimosas and were happy. Quiche, French Onion soup, and a burger were also happily consumed. Fun plating, delicious large portions ... there is a lot to love here!!! read more

I went to Chez Fabien back in February and had a great time! There was a little bit of a wait to get into the restaurant but we were seated sooner than expected. I got the Le Parisien which has a croissant, potatoes, and eggs. All were delicious. The restaurant had a nice ambiance that was a little dark with fun signs and lighting. read more

I've been here a couple of times the wait staff is fast turnover. The food is good but nothing to write home about price to quality. Some servers don't really speak good English and therefore you have problems with your food order. Last time I was there they served appetizers and main course and the same time. Maybe management has to better train their staff and pay more so they stay. read more

The service and atmosphere was good but the food was terrible, tacos were soaking wet and genuinely gross tasting, chicken and waffles were very interesting in the worst way possible, and my mother ordered a simple eggs and sausage, how do you mess that up . Terrible day to be hungry, joke of a breakfast spot. read more

What a pathetic place that they claim is a restaurant. I came here expecting a charming little France moment, you know, soft lighting, cozy vibes, maybe a waiter who looks like he judges my outfit a little. Instead, I got transported to what can only be described as the waiting room of culinary purgatory, sponsored by screaming babies and claustrophobia. We waited TWO HOURS for our food. Two. Full. Hours. Not "busy-night" two hours. Not "they warned us" two hours. No, this was a mystery silence two hours, where everyone around us, people who sat down AFTER us, kept receiving plate after plate while we just... aged. I watched relationships form and end at nearby tables. I'm pretty sure the couple next to us had an appetizer, entrée, dessert, coffee, and closure before we got acknowledged. And the space? Calling it "cozy" would be generous. This place is tight. Like, legally-questionable tight. I've had more legroom on a budget airline with turbulence. I stood up once and apologized to three people I don't know, a chair, and someone's stroller. If you drop your fork, don't bother picking it up, you're not fitting down there anyway. Let's talk ambiance. The restaurant wants to feel like France, but instead it felt like the pit of hell, if hell had exposed brick and a daycare center inside it. Babies were screaming like it was their full-time job. Not one baby. Multiple. Surround sound. Dolby Atmos: Infant Edition. Nothing pairs better with hunger-induced rage than a shrieking chorus of tiny humans. And after two hours... the food arrived. Was it transcendent? Was it worth the wait? Did it whisper "oui oui" to my soul? No. It was mid. Aggressively mid. The kind of mid that makes you stare at your plate and think, "I could've been home an hour and forty-five minutes ago." I don't need perfection. I just need my food before I start Googling how long humans can survive on bread crumbs and resentment. If you enjoy waiting forever, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, listening to babies scream while watching everyone else eat, and then being rewarded with food that's just... fine--this place might be for you. As for me, I came for France and left feeling like I'd done time. Bon appétit, I guess. read more

My husband & I spent a wonderful evening in downtown Grapevine and it was made even better by our dinner at Chez Fabien. We were fortunate enough to eat on the patio, but the attention paid to us was impeccable. The escargot en croûte and the duck confit was better than I could have imagined and my husband's steak frites were so, so tasty. The steak was done EXACTLY as ordered & was well trimmed. This is a little gem! read more

Amazing food and vibe here. Came with a plan to have appetizer, meal and desserts. The food was too good I didn't get to dessert. Definitely recommend any of the three items we purchase (prime rib sandwich, shrimp and grits or calamari and shrimp) All were perfectly made and good portion. Server was amazing and took care of us Will definitely be back to maybe share a meal with the husband and try the dessert read more

I've been coming here for years and it's always consistent. I usually do lunch and the menu has a ton of great options. French onion soup is one their most popular dishes. I love the mussels and frites. Sandwich and salad combos are fantastic. Nicely decorated with a dark interior. The wall tables are a little tight because you are right next to others. Bar area is always filled with locals. Never had an issue with service , always good. Price point is on point with what you get. The menu has a lot of different options. read more

5-Star Review for Chez Fabien If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Chez Fabien delivered everything I didn't know I needed on a Friday night--beautiful ambiance, phenomenal food, and top-tier service. Aaron, our server, was an absolute gem--warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He handpicked the perfect glass of wine for me and shared the local favorites with genuine excitement. From the first bite of escargot to the last forkful of the coffee cake, the entire meal was flawless. The Duck Confit and Braised Beef Ribs were melt-in-your-mouth good--elevated comfort food done right. The bar was lively, the music created the perfect vibe, and I truly felt at peace and happy here. If you're local and looking for something memorable, beautiful, and delicious to do on a Friday night--this is it. Chez Fabien is a five-star experience in every way. read more

I've been here for breakfast before and tried the quiche, which was good. This time we tried dinner. The bar was packed. Service was good. We tried the French onion soup which was delicious. Our entrees looked beautiful! The Salmon was good. I just wish there was more sauce on it. I liked my broccoli cooked way more. Mashed potatoes were delicious. We also tried the scallops which were cooked perfectly. However the risotto was not good. It was bland, overly cheesy, smelled sort of sour and was gritty, like it wasn't cooked enough. read more

We visited the weekend before Christmas, so we expected a bit of a wait, and it ended up being over an hour to be seated. Despite that, the food made it worth it! I ordered the French onion soup and mussels, which were both incredible. My sister had the tomato soup and wedge salad, and she loved them. We also shared a charcuterie board, which was awesome. While the kitchen was on point--our food came out super fast--the service could have been better. Our waiter wasn't very attentive, and we had to ask for refills multiple times. Overall, the food was fantastic, but the service could use some improve read more

OUTSTANDING SERVICE & AMAZING FOOD! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Sebastián, without a doubt one of the best servers I've ever had. From the very beginning, his professionalism, energy, and attention to detail made everything flow perfectly. I ordered the Truffle Parmesan Fries as a starter and the Chez Fabien Lamb Burger as my main dish, both were absolutely delicious. To complement the meal, I had a Carajillo, crafted with espresso coffee and Licor 43, carrying a subtle orange flavor that was simply fabulous. For dessert, I enjoyed the Crème Brûlée with Fresh Berries, which was the perfect finale, creamy, balanced, and beautifully presented. What truly elevated the whole visit was Sebastián's impeccable service. He didn't just take care of the table, he made the experience memorable. Something I really appreciated about him is that he brought excellent conversation to the table and had a great sense of humor, every time he came by, he left me with more than one smile. I will absolutely return to Chez Fabien, not only for the excellent food, but especially for the outstanding service Sebastián provided this afternoon. If you're looking for genuine hospitality, flawless recommendations, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a VIP, Sebastián is the one you need. Bravo, Sebastián! This restaurant is beyond awful! My husbands eggs were burnt and requested new eggs, Manager Michael and owner Fabian refused to remake the food and stated then " just don't come back". Love this place & Brian is the best! You have to get the calamari appetizer and the mushroom ravioli. The short ribs are amazing as well.

Everything was amazing at Chez Fabian; drinks, food, ambience EVERYTHING. The thing that stood out the most about this place was our service. Brian served us and was very personable, intentional, & cared about our experience. A few people in our party had been here one other time and he remembered their drink orders which was extremely impressive. Highly recommend you make a reservation or get ready to wait bc the wait is real. Food here is always good and so is the service. My only complaint is the spaces between tables. It makes it feel like you are eating with someone you don't know . Hard to move around if you have to go to the restroom or stand up. Chilaquiles verde were LEGIT and so were the Chicken and waffles . Everything else we ordered was good and made to order but those two were the star of the show. You know coffee could make or break the deal so I'm happy to inform cappuccinos were great! read more

going to the Texas Tenors show today, found this restaurant on Yelp! It's not different from the Main Street Bistro and Bakery. We had the deluxe breakfast croissant, the lamb burger with a lettuce bun, which they supremely impressed with, and the kola-waffle. I regret that we did not get our server's name because he was amazing and super impressive. He knew his product and made excellent suggestions. It's a pretty small space, but they utilize it well and keep up with demand. It's super close to the theater so I'm sure this is something they deal with often. We were there for a performance, but arrived with plenty of time to wait and be served and enjoy our meal. read more

The food here is good, and it's clear that this is a well loved location due to the number of people here at noon on a Tuesday! However, if you get a server who is less than polite... things are going to not be too great. The table next to us was sat after us and got closed out before us. We kept having to flag down our waiter. That being said, the service as whole is very nice and aware! It can get crowded and they're very good at navigating the space. read more

My husband and I had dinner here Friday for our anniversary. This was our first time here although I've had coffee and pastries on the bakery side several times and that was outstanding. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately was disappointed. We started with the calamari appetizer which was good, but a bit greasy. The calamari was very tender. I had the sea bass over Israeli couscous. The fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The couscous however tasted like it had zero seasoning. My husband had a Caesar salad and the ribeye with fries. The ribeye was good, but not outstanding. It was pretty fatty. The big disappointment for me was the chocolate lava cake. It was very over baked with one side actually burnt. It was very dry with absolutely no "lava". The ice cream was on the side was good, but did not make up for fail on the cake. The service was good, but the restaurant is very loud so it's very difficult to converse. I don't believe the live music, which we really enjoyed caused the loud environment, but rather all the hard surfaces with nothing to help absorb some of the noise. read more

advice to anyone who goes: do NOT get the waffle. most mid waffle i've ever had and felt like it was a total waste of money. the fruit sauce served with it was ICE cold which creates a weird juxtaposition between warm waffle and freezing cold berries. my suggestion: maybe serve it with a warm jam instead i'm sure the other food is good- just didn't wanna risk it if the waffle was THAT disappointing (especially after having to wait to be seated for 30 minutes and another 30 for the food to come out) read more

"Love's touch comes to mean so much Parted lips so filled with love French kissin' in the USA" (Blondie) We had lunch at Chez Fabien, a popular French restaurant in downtown Grapevine. They had a pretty impressive lunch menu with seven appetizers including French favorites like warm Brie and escargots, three soups including the old dependable French Onion with Gruyère Cheese and a house made puff pastry, seven salads, eleven sandwiches including more French favorites like Croque Monsieur and a French Dip, three quiches, six Bistro Favorites including Moules Frites (mussels) and a crepe, two entree bowls, and six burgers including the aptly named Frenchie (with Brie Cheese, Crispy Shallots, and Mushroom Duxelle). My wife ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes on Brioche Bread with house made chips ($12) and I went for the Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl ($16) with "Chunks of Grilled Marinated Chicken in special Garam Masala sauce, Ancient grain, Broccolini, Cilantro & Cashews". My lunch was FANTASTIC! Everything in the bowl was excellent and the only improvement opportunity I can suggest is that the portion was far too big for a lunch. I'd have rather seen them slim down the order size a little and shaved off some of that $16 price. The real issue we had at lunch was the terrible service. After our food was delivered, we never had the obligatory check-back and in fact never saw our server again until a very, very, very long wait for the bill. We saw other servers in our section refilling waters and iced teas, but that never happened to us. Oh well, c'est la vie. read more

get the burger. i didn't care for the french dip 1- where's the beef, 4 thin slices 2- is sweet, why? 3- bread should be a crusty Baguette, not a supermarket white roll (think hamburger bun texture) 4- it should be piping hot, not room temperature nice atmosphere read more

My husband and i were looking for a French restaurant after coming back from our visit to France so we opted to try out this restaurant for a Sunday brunch. Although the service we received was very pleasant, we were highly disappointed in the food. Everything tasted and looked like generic American food - nothing organic or local. Presentation was very basic which is why I didn't even take any photos of my food. The website highly oversells the experience in my opinion. I should have known something was off when I first received my cappuccino in a huge cup that was like a bowl of milk for cereal. My husband ordered a cinnamon role which he was not impressed with at all either. After we ate our breakfast, we both felt very sluggish. The togo cafe next door looked cute but after our dining experience we were not motivated to purchase any other pastries. Ambiance and decor is quaint but very disappointing that this restaurant claims to represent a French experience because the food tasted nothing like France. Will not be return. read more
